~ Reader's POV ~

"I think I figured it out,"
Ray started.

"It's not just this switch. Everything in this shelter... can be used to threaten the geezer,"
he finished with a smirk.

"Thanks for the report, Alicia,"
He smiled, ruffling her hair.

"Whoa, Ray! Why are you making her do some risky experiment? Alicia, why'd you agree?!"
Gilda exclaimed.

I chuckled, placing my hand on her shoulder to calm her.

"Don't worry. I won't do it anymore. Because everything in here is important to him, right?"
she smiled.

"Ray, you act like their dad,"
I then deadpanned, since he was still ruffling Alicia's hair.

Alicia's eyes lit up, then she hurried over to the other kids and started to whisper with them.
We all tilted our head in confusion.

Then, Alicia pulled out a chart.
It had Ray's name then the word "Dad"
Then it continued showing Emma and I with "Mamas"
Then Don and Gilda with "Protective Uncle/Aunt"

I burst into laughter along with Don.
"You are protective!"
I told Don.

He snickered.
"And you are a mom! So you're protective too,"
He chuckled.

Ray and Gilda deadpanned,
Don and I continued to laugh.

"Anyway, continue. Continue,"
I then said, giggling.

Ray and Gilda smiled at my laugh.

They then changed the subject.
"And we haven't broken his rules."
Alicia says.

"It's boring that we can't explore though,"
Chris added.
"He told us to get lost and gave us some weird nicknames."
"And when we kept asking his name, he yelled at us."

"Just don't go near him anymore!!"
Gilda exclaimed.

"Either way, we were able to pull in the geezer for our journey to find Minerva.
Escape and rescue.
We need to do both within two years. And if we're taking out all of the Grace Field kids... it'll be impossible to hide that many in this shelter after the rescue,"
Ray said.

"We need to secure the method of escape as soon as possible and then do everything we can before attempting the rescue within the next two years,"
Don said.

"We don't even know if we can find Minerva. We have no time to dillydally.
There's no way we're not using the old geezer's experience.
Actually, we definitely need it for our objective,"
Ray said.

"And also... this is our opportunity to learn how a human survived... outside for 13 years on his own,"
Emma smiled.

"Either way, the geezer's agreeing to come was a necessary step. And we got through it. Glad we did,"
Ray said.

"But... I'm still worried,"
Don said, then looked at me with a frown.

"Do you think he'll actually help... until you guys find and meet Mr. Minerva? He seems to have no problem with killing us.
What if he just agreed for now and is waiting for a chance to kill you?"
Gilda asked, I could definitely see the protective aunt.

"It's likely. Of course the geezer would think of that. Or maybe he wants us brats to go through a horrible experience outside,"
Ray said calmly, flipping through his book.

"What?"
Don asked, worry spreading across his face.
Gilda and he wrapped their arms around me making my face flush.

"And that's fine. It was important for him to agree for now. That's the only way we can get him to take action,"
Ray said, shooting a determined and dark look.

"We still don't understand his intentions. We're going to try to figure each other out and use this situation to our advantage. That's what this trip is going to be,"
Ray said.

"Obviously, it would have been better... if we could've cooperated as fellow escapees instead of resorting to threats,"
Emma said.

"He was the one who suddenly pulled a gun on us. He's also rushing us to leave,"
Ray added.

"We need to read everything here.
Pack for the trip...
And in four days leave AO8-63."

Time Skip

~

Emma rushed up to me.
It was one day before we were leaving.

"Y/n, come on,"
She smiled.

"For what?"
I asked, sitting up and following her along with Ray.

"Mister wants to show us something,"
She smiled, taking my hand in hers.

"All right,"
I sweatdropped.

~

We went to Yuugo, who was messing with the piano for some reason.

"What are you-"

He got the top off and fiddled with something. Then, an entrance opened up for us.
My eyes went wide with excitement.

"This is the final preparation before we leave,"
he stated.

He went down and I followed right after him, going down the ladder and looked at all the weapons with awe.
It looked so... beautiful.

"Come on. Let's go on our journey to hell to find Minerva,"
He said which made me smile.
