-Emma, Ray, and Norman

"Emma, it's just a math question,"
Ray said with an eye roll.

"It's not just a math question!"
she shot back, looking at all the work she'd done.

I giggled. Both Norman and I knew the answer,
but we decided to let her continue working it out.

Ray let his head fall onto the pillow with a groan.

"Just give her the answer so we can go to the creek,"
he said.

Our eyes lit up.
"You actually like going there, Ray?!"
Emma and I both exclaimed in unison.

He shot up from the pillow.
"No! Don't-"

"RAY LIKES THE CREEEEEK"
Emma and I started singing, Norman soon joining in.

He deadpanned, but let us continue singing.
Then, once he finally got tired of it, he threw a pillow at Norman.

We burst into laughter.

It was hard to believe we were the ones that demolished the farms in the demon world.
Although my memories from it were completely erased from it, they told me all about it.

Norman was the most warmest.
While Ray seemed distant, and Emma seemed to find it hard to be around me without freaking out, Norman didn't mind being with me at all. I felt it was 'normal'.

All together, it wasn't that bad.

"Emma, you can solve this later. Let's go to the creek,"
I said with a smile, putting out my hand for her to stand up.

"ah..."
oh no, she was starting to freak out again.
"Yeah, okay! Let's go!"
she said all in one breath, taking my hand and standing up, then quickly letting go.

Ray chuckled, but followed behind her.

"Let's go then,"
Norman said, giving me a small smile before taking his hand in mine and leading me out.

--
--

We finally reached the creek.
And when we did, Emma immediately started climbing up the treehouse.

"She's always so eager to be here,"
Ray said, shaking his head as he leaned on Norman.

"But it's good. Good seeing her happy after everything,"
Norman said, smiling softly.

"Yeah,"
was all Ray said to agree, then helped me up to the treehouse.

Emma rushed over to the pillows and jumped onto them.
"I love being here!"
she gushed, looking around and taking it all in.

I chuckled.
"It's such a calming place,"
I stated, sitting next to her.

Norman was the last one up and he followed Ray to sit down on the chairs.
Ray leaned back, stretching.
Norman let him lay his head on his arm as he settled down.

Emma grinned, turning on some music for us.
Then, as soon as the song started, her eyes lit up.

"Y/n! Let's dance!"
she said with a wide grin, jumping up.

"Huh-"
I wasn't able to say much before she pulled me up and started spinning me around.

I broke into laughter, falling into her arms as I was too dizzy.
She didn't struggle with holding me up, but she almost fell over once she herself started laughing.

Norman smiled happily, watching us.

"We actually wanted to tell you something,"
Emma said, her smile not fading as she helped me up.

"Oh? What is it?"
I asked, looking at them.

Ray opened his eyes, I could tell by the look on his face he didn't want to go through this.

"We uh... We've been talking through this and,"
Emma paused, clearly having trouble saying it. Norman took over for you.

"We're not going to keep this from you.
We all have a crush on you,"
he stated quite straightforwardly.

I almost died

"excuse moi?"
I asked in confusion making Ray snicker.

"We like you, butterfly. But we don't want to make it hard on you, so you don't have to chose any of us. We just wanted to let you know,"
Ray told me, giving me a smile as he leaned up.

I sat there, dumfounded.

"We broke her,"
Norman muttered.

"Y/nnnnnnn"
Emma murmured, patting my head.

I was hesitant to speak, but I did.
"What was our life together? Before I lost my memories?"
I asked softly.

"It was basically the same,"
Emma said, placing her hand on her chin.

"We loved you, even then, we still did,"
Norman said, sitting down beside me.

"It's never going to change,"
Ray added before Norman or Emma could.

Emma smiled brightly.
"You mean everything to all of us, Y/n,"
she said, then her smile dropped. "Okay, now we're pressuring you-"

"no, no, it's okay! I-"
I stopped midsentence, unsure of what to say.

"You all.. mean a lot to me and I love you all, a lot,"
I said, keeping my attention at the ground, knowing they'd tease me if they saw my red face.

"I don't want to lose any of you,"
I said softly. Emma grinned.

"Let's all be together then! We'll all be together,"
Emma concluded.

Norman raised a brow.
"How does that-"

"A polyamorous relationship,"
Ray said, bonking Norman's head.

"Ah, I see,"
he said in realization.

Ray and Emma laughed and I looked up.
"You guys would- I would love that!"
I said with a grin, nodding at them.

Emma hugged me tightly.
"Yay!!" she exclaimed, almost tumbling me over again.

Norman laughed, joining the hug, basically squashing Emma. Ray rolled his eyes at our horseplay, but soon let himself fall onto Norman.

I laughed, full of happiness.
All of us, together.

I groaned, trying to push them off.
But nope, Ray was comfortable.

"I need a jacket like this,"
he said, leaning into Norman's jacket. It was extremely soft compared to the others we've had.

"Rayyy get off,"
I whined. Emma giggled, laying her head on my shoulder.

Norman was silent until Emma placed a kiss on my cheek.

"Move over,"
he said with a frown, trying to kiss my forehead.

"What are you guys doing?"
Ray asked, turning over to face us.

And when he did, he saw Emma shoving Norman away and snuggling closer to me.
I burst into laughter.

Ray deadpanned.
"Losers," he said, shoving them both away and snuggling up to me.

"Hey,"
I said with a chuckle.

"Hey,"
He repeated, a small smile playing at his lips.

"How are you, Butterfly?"
he asked, wrapping his arms snugly around my waist.

I chuckled, my heart glowing with that nickname.

"I'm pretty good. With the best people I know, having fun... it's amazing."
I stated, feeling all giddy inside.

"How are you, Ray?"
I asked after that.

"Feeling pretty.." he cut off, laughing slightly.
"Pretty swag."

---
---

"Norman, put me down!"
I cried. After Ray and I had our short talk, Norman had picked me up.

He had me draped over his shoulder, holding onto his back for dear life.

"Why are you so tall?!"
I exclaimed, suddenly seeing the world from his perspective.

"I'm a fine man,"
he stated and I looked at him with a raised brow.

Ray laughed at that.
"Sure,"
he agreed, sounding sarcastic.

"We all know I'm the best looking here,"
Emma stated with a playful eyeroll.

Norman and Ray were stunned at that.
No one, I mean no one, could say Emma wasn't pretty, it would be a lie.

She looked confused at the silence.
Then, Norman's grip on me lightened as he smirked.

"AHHHH!"
I shrieked in surprise even though he never even let go of me.

"Norman, don't you dare drop her,"
Ray warned, sharpening his gaze.

"I won't, I'm not that kind of person,"
he said, shaking his head with pride.

"Norman-"
my voice wavered as he kept playfully slipping his hands from me.

And then.
I was saved.

"Put her down!!!"
Chris, Yvette, and Jemima shouted in unison as they climbed up.

Emma's eyes went wide as she went dumfounded on how they even got here.

Norman sweatdropped, but quickly did as they said, setting me down gently.
"Y/NNNN"
they cried, hugging me tightly, glaring at Norman.

"First Ray! Now, you, Norman? Do I have to worry about Emma now?"
Jemima asked, shaking her head woefully.

"Please don't,"
Emma said with a sheepish chuckle, holding out her hands.

"Thank you,"
I told the three, smiling at them.

Ray looked as if he'd been punched.

which he had been.
by Yvette.

"What was that for?!"
he shrieked and Norman burst into laughter.

"Not doing anything!"
Yvette said, crossing her arms before walking away from him.

"And Emma,"
she said, looking at Emma who now had fear in her eyes.
"You're okay!" and Emma was hugged.

I smiled, taking Norman's hand in mine with happiness.

"Y/n!! Hey!"

The ringing in my ears was stronger than ever. The shouts covering my mind.

"I love you guys..." I told them before we would head, for the first time, to the human world.

I didn't face the blinding light, instead facing back to Mujika and Sonju. They smiled, waving at me in a goodbye.

Before Emma did the honors, I faced Ray.

"Don't blame yourself, okay?"

And we were gone. The blinding light binding around us and taking us in.

×××

I awoke far from the group. They were instantly taken in by Mike. And so, they all went on. With absolutely no memory of me.

I took a deep breath. Is this really what had to happen? Hell, even Leslie was gone.

Well, with that, I decided to go my own way. I did make efforts, of course, to reconnect with them. It didn't work out well at all.

I tried with Ray. If anyone would remember me, it would be him.

"Hey, is this yours?" I asked him, running up to him with a pencil he dropped.

His eyes met mine and I knew there was some sort of recognition in them.

He was tense for a small second.

"Yeah, thank you," he said, taking the pencil with a bit of hesitation.

"Do I know you?" He quickly asked before I could leave.

"Maybe in another world we did know each other," I said with a chuckle.

He laughed. "Yeah maybe. Let's stay in contact, yeah?"
He was open to the possibility, because he always felt like he left something- someone special behind.

"Of course! Here," I gave him a my account where he and I could talk and he smiled.

We spent some time, just the two of us. But...

The last time we talked.
He came to my house in a hurry, barely leaving any time for me to process how late it was for him to be there.

"I remember! I'm so sorry," he rambled, hugging me tightly and close.

"How could I let you go... I'm so sorry,"
he said, shaking.

"I remember us, together in the Demon World. I remember my only dream was to stay with you, to keep you happy," he was talking so much he was running out of breath.

"Ray, it's okay. I did this for you, for everyone to come here happy,"
I told him with a smile.

"How could I- we ever be happy without you? You're part of me, you always have been. You're part of the family, no matter how hard it was, you always were,"
he was on the verge of crying now, wondering how on earth he could ever forget about the person he cared for most.

"I love you, Ray. It's okay, it had to be done. I'm just happy everyone's okay,"
he finally broke into tears, clinging onto me tightly.

"I love you so much, butterfly."

Ray loved me that night, without hesitation, without fear.

But time took him away from me. Wthtti/Ryan was bent on keeping me from them.

The years passed and I gave up on connecting with my family. If I did, they'd all be gone.

I decided to adventure. I wanted to find the demon world again.

It took me years until I found something.

"Hey, keep going out!"
I shouted.

"I don't think that's a good idea!" The crew responded, trying to get back to safety.

I grit my teeth, knowing I was so close.

"This is my opportunity, I'm taking it!" I said with a grin, saluting to them before I ran off.

×××

I woke up in a strange place and I knew I accomplished it.

I took in a deep breath, recognizing my surroundings.

I was finally home.

I wandered for a while, trying to find my way into the village.

I tried to stay hidden from the demons, walking in the alleys and covering my face.

I knew Mujika would make sure that no demon would think of harming a human, but you never know.

"I'm here to visit the Queen," I stated.

"You are?"

"An old friend," I stated, taking in a deep breath, knowing that for sure wouldn't sell it.

They laughed, looking at each other before they kicked me out.

I tried a few more times before I just snuck in through the back.

I took a deep breath, climbing the vines up to whichever room was closest.

"This would be so much easier in my 14 year old body," I grunted, finally reaching a room.

I stumbled into the room, looking around stealthily.

"Mujika? Sonju?" I whispered, looking around.

Nothing.

I grit my teeth, exiting the room and entering the hallway.

"If I was Sonju... where would I be in a palace?"
I murmured to myself.

"Next to Mujika... or getting food,"
I answered myself.

"If I was Mujika, where would I be?"
"In a room!"
"You're so stupid..."

I sighed at myself, wandering around quietly.

The silence didn't last long, especially when I found the kitchen.

"Oh lord..." I mumbled, reaching toward the apple.

Okay, I know, dumb choice. But hey, I've been starving for a few days, give me a break.
Anyway.

I ate the apple and was on my way to the next room in search for the dearest people to me. Well, demons.

I found myself in a huge room with so much space. Two grand doors at the beginning of it. I found the first room into the palace.

"Mujika! Sonju!"
I shouted.

"Oh come on,"
No one was in there.

"For the love of-"
Beeeeep beeeeep beeeep.

"What are you doing in here?"
Oh no. A guard.

"FU-"
Beeeeeeep.

They dragged me, I protested, falling to the ground and letting them drag me.

"Ughhhh you're so mean!" I grumbled, pulling off my hood.

"A human," they stopped in their tracks.

"A human?"
I heard Mujika's voice from afar.

"Mujika!! Hey, it's me!"
A grin broke onto my face, hoping she'd recognize me.

"Y/n?" Her eyes went wide as she rushed over, moving the guards away from me.

"Yeah, hey,"
I said, cringing at myself for how I sounded.

She teared up immediately, hugging me as tightly as she possibly could.

"You're so big now!"
she exclaimed, burying her face in my shoulder to hide her sobs.

"You're so small, Muji,"
I chuckled, but that came to sobs as I realized how much time had passed by.

"Mujika? What's going on?"
Sonju's worried voice rang through the halls as he walked over.

His eyes met mine and he instantly ran over. Unexpectedly, to everyone in the room, he joined the hug.

"Y/n, you're here... how?"
Sonju asked, clearly stunned as he held me tightly.

"It's a long story... but I found my way back,"
I said softly. Sonju pondered that for a split second then smiled brightly.

"You've gotten so big,"
he said, his voice cracking. Mujika smiled at that, resting her head on my shoulder.

I took it all in and the warm feeling comforted me. It was strange to say but... I was home.

-
-

Mujika declared, only a day later, that no one was allowed to touch the human.

It was a bit strange to see her in front of a crowd, making all these rules for me. But it was sweet!

Years of being alone, horribly alone. After Ray, even before Ray, it was just him who I let myself be around. Now, I had someone. I had Mujika and Sonju, the two who took MY loneliness away all those years ago and now they did it again.

The demons obeyed their queen, although there was times where they would stare at me with a drive.

Anyway, after this speech, I told them everything. My family losing memories of me, Ray coming back into my life. That hurt them the most. They commented how me and Ray would always find our way back to each other and I tried to smile. I continued on to tell them that I  decided to distance myself from the family instead of putting them in danger, so I came up with the plan to find the demon world again.

Then... here I was.

Mujika held me in her arms, shaking her head. "You're safe with us now, we'll keep you safe."

--
-

And they followed through with that, both of them.

Sonju and I would often travel outside the kingdom. One day, Mujika joined us too.

"Where are we going today?"
I asked with curiosity, lifting my bow and swinging it around as if it was not a deadly weapon.

"It's a surprise!" Mujika said happily, leaning back in the carriage looking thing.

Sonju nodded his head, smiling at me.

They both did that a lot more and it made me really happy because I seemed to smile a lot more as well.

I couldn't see outside, but Mujika's grin grew wider once she glanced out.

Soon, we stopped and before I could peek out, Sonju's hand covered my eyes.

"No peeking,"
He said, tying a blindfold over my eyes.

I chuckled but nodded, relying on him to lead me the right way.

"Almost there!" Mujika said and I could practically hear the grin on her face.

"All right..."
I murmured, my hand tightening around Sonju's.

Long after, the blindfold was taken off and my eyes widened at the sight in front of me.

Grace Field House. But it wasn't the same anymore, it was different. The house had been taken down and built way differently, like a small cottage.
There was a pond, flowers, more trees than before!

"We want to stay here... with you. I know I have my duties as a Queen, but we don't want to lose you again, Y/n. We want to spend each day with you!"
she said brightly, but she seemed to be hesitating.

"We thought it'd be best to take us all away from the crowd. We could tell it was tiring you out. We truly want to stay here with you. Just us," Sonju said.

The grin on my face didn't vanish as I hugged them both. "I love you both," I said softly, feeling tears building up in my eyes. "So much," I breathed out quickly.

Sonju held me gently while Mujika held me tightly. And all at once I was filled with a feeling I felt long ago. I felt love and I was embracing it.
