Chapter 115
Jin and Hayato

The two were trying against the demons, but needed help.

I took out my bow, and shot all of the demons.
Ray, Emma, and Don helped.

Then, once all the demons were killed...

Don and Emma aimed their guns at one of the guys.
Ray went to the other with me on his back.

I sighed slightly, getting off of Ray and pointing my gun at him.

"Don't move,"
Ray said.

He held his hands up in surrender.

"Who are you? Why are you here?"
I asked, narrowing my eyes at the guy.

There's no sign of other comrades.
They could come from Ratri, it could be a trap.

What are they? Friends or enemies?

He then fell to his knees in front of Ray and I.
"Thank you, Thank you, thank you!!!"
he shouted.

"That was soooo scary!! I thought it was all over! I thought they would eat us!!"
he wailed, I chuckled slightly, then regained my posture and stayed blank-faced.

"They ate our guns! They ate our hiding clothes! Oh, thank you! Thank you so much!!"
he wailed, grabbing my arms in thanks. I blinked in confusion, Ray narrowed his eyes.

"Hey, you fool! Don't touch them! Show some respect to your saviors!"
the other guy said.

Then, their eyes widened.
"Human beings?!"
they backed away.

"Come on!!"
"Did you notice only know?!"

"We're sorry!! Sorry for being impolite again!!"
They yelled.

I deadpanned.

"Bah! We're not death, you know!!"
Ray said, covering my ears.

"Talk quietly or the enemies will find us!"
Don said.

"Who are you then? And why are you in this place?"
I asked, removing Ray's hands from my ears.

"I'm Jin, ma'am!"
The guy with a bandana said.
"And he's Hayato!"
He added, talking about the other guy, with the bandage on his head.

"We're not allowed to say much... we're on a mission to a certain someone who we serve, and–"

Hayato screamed again, looking at us with wide eyes as if he remembered something.

"No, seriously!! Stop shouting!"
Ray said.

"Jin!! It's them. No way no way–
They're the Grace Field escapees!"
Hayato said

"We've been looking for you– by orders from William Minerva!!"
Hayato said quickly.

{ Minerva?! }

"Duuuuude!! It's really them! Far ooooout!"
"So cool! They even took care of my wounds! Oh boy, oh boy!!"
They gushed, I blinked in confusion.

"Thank you so much!! It's so amazing how you got so far all by yourselves! Respect!!"
Hayato and Jin bowed

"Then, sum it up... your boss is William Minerva... and he's freeing cattle children and bringing them to a new, great settlement?"
Emma asked.

"Right!"
Jin confirmed.

"And the boss is amazing! He's super smart, sharp as a razor... it feels like he's a god, really.
In only six months, he's crushed numerous farms... rushing hundreds of kids, bringing us all together,"
Hayato said with a bright smile.

"Woah..."
"That's the great Minerva for you... the former head of the Ratri Clan."

I took a deep breath,
Shaking my head.

My thoughts kept going to Norman.
But why?

After everything, I always imagined I would end up with Norman.
But now, I'm completely in love with Ray.
Yet I always think of him.

I shook my head slightly, then looked back up.

"We too, were saved by the boss,
All of us here... thanks to him!"
Hayato added, showing us his branding.

It was similar to Adam's.
Or... the same.

"And then... your boss... Minerva, you said he was looking for us?"
Nat asked.

"Yes! Did you get the message?"
Jin asked.

"The boss knew they'd attack the shelter after that, so he sent us to scout...
He was so worried! He said he wanted to lend you some help. And to ask for your help, too, if possible,"
Jin continued.

"We got the message, yes. That's why we're here, to find that location.
In that case, by all means–"
Oliver started.

Jin put a fist in his chest.
"Let us guide you... to our hideout! There's plenty of food there, and places to rest...
We even got medicine and other medical equipment. We can take good care of your wounds."

"This hideout of yours... are you sure the demons or the Ratri haven't found it yet? Since you've been destroying plantations and all..."
Gilda asked.

"We've had no attacks so far. And we have very strong comrades on defense.
It's really like a paradise,"
Jin said.

"The most important thing is, as long as we have him... as long as the boss is with us...
Nothing can hurt us,"
Hayato smiled.

"Hey, Jin. How far would you say is the hideout?"
Ray asked.

"Erm, where was it again? Close to the neck of the unicorn, right?"
Don said.

"No man, it's the jaw of the lion,"
Hayato corrected

"And not so close... the rock is only a landmark along the way, really. You still have to walk some two days after passing it.
The exact place is only known to a few of us, even within our group,"
Jin said.

They are cattle children... and they know about the Jaw of the lion.
They aren't enemy.

"Sorry for doubting you. We'll be grateful to have you as our guides,"
Ray said.

"Leave it to us!"
Jin said.

"But is it really okay to bring strangers like us into your home?"
Anna asked.

"Of course it is! That's just what the boss wanted! And y'all are our saviors, you know!"
Hayato answered.

"Thank you. We're looking forward to working with you,"
Emma smiled, shaking his hand.

I looked over to Chris, going to him.
I stopped listening to everyone else, knowing I would be explained it later.

I ruffled Chris's hair with a smile.
"We're going to get there... and you'll be okay, Chris,"
I muttered.

Then, my smile faded along with Sandy's.

"Chris?"
I called out.

"Chris!"

"It's an emergency! Chris's condition has suddenly taken a turn for the worse!"
Sandy announced.

"His breathing has gone shallow... and the pulse! This fever isn't normal, either."

"What about Mujika's medicine?"
"We've already tried it..."

"He may have gotten an infection. He has to be treated fast, or else...!"
Anna said.

My eyes widened slightly and I frowned.
No. I can't lose Chris too.

"This ain't good...
If this goes on Chris will be beyond help..."
Zack muttered.

"His timeline system and overall health are badly compromised."
"It would take 3 days to reach Minerva's place...
That's where we can get medicine.
But Chris... in this state. He wouldn't make it. I'm not even sure if he can make it to tomorrow morning."

My eyes widened and I held on to Chris gently.

"You're saying... there's nothing we can do?"
Ray asked.

Then a hand was placed on my shoulder.
"There's still one thing we can try! Never give up!"

"Huh? What is it?"
I asked, looking at Hayato.

"There exists one place where we can find what we need... A plantation.
There is one close to here. We can steal medicine from there.
Let me be your guide. We're infiltrating this plantation."
