Y/N's POV

It's been nearly three months since I've thawed out of the ice. And in those three months, I've been mostly spending them reading and watching anything I've missed in the past seventy years. I managed to memorize most of it.

There were the obvious things, like the technological advancements. Mobile cellular devices. Personal Computers. Flat screen TVs. Then there was the moment that humanity reached the moon.

But despite all those good things, the amount of bad things there were completely outweighed the good. The assassinations of a President, a congressman, and a minister. Multiple bombings. A shit ton more war. An attack on two towers in lower Manhattan.

Society seems to be identical to how it was back in the 40s.

Currently I was in the backseat of an SUV. Fury wanted to speak with me. I'm not exactly sure what about, but I have a few guesses. I doubt it's about last night at the docks. It could be about the bus I pulled from a lake. Or the plane I caught in the middle of a soccer stadium.

But that was two months ago.

----- November 29th, 2011 - Norway -----

After a seven hour flight, this place still calls to me. The wide open field and cliff side just pulls towards me. I walk closer to the edge of the cliff.

"You shouldn't stand so close to the edge"

I look back to see a man in gold plated armor. He had a gigantic pointy helmet. And his eyes were orange. I recognize him.

"I know you. You're the man who bumped into me at the enlistment facility back in 42," I turn to face him, "Are you following me?"

The man just replies, "Yes."

"...Who are you? What do you want?"

"My name is Heimdall"

"You only answered one question.. Wait. Heimdall? As in the Norse Watchman of the Gods?," I ask before muttering, "Great, I go to Norway and a Norse God appears."

"Do you not believe me?"

I look out into the water below the cliff then back to him.

"You appeared from nowhere. I would have seen or heard you coming if you walked through the entire field.. And honestly, I've seen SHIELDS reports on Thor's little visit down in New Mexico," I tell him.

"Then I take it you know why I'm here?," he asks.

"Have you come to tell me you're my father?," I jokingly ask and laugh to my self. Heimdall keeps a straight face which causes me to stop laughing, "Are you my dad?"

Heimdall smiles at my question, "No, but your father is the one who sent me."

I stare at him and think for a moment.

"..Odin? You're telling me my father is the All-Father Odin?"

"He doesn't know that I'm speaking to you"

"And why are you speaking to me?"

"I have vowed to obey the orders of your father, but I am willing to commit treason in order to protect the nine realms," He explains.

I look back over the cliff. Heimdall stays quiet for a bit before walking to the edge of the cliff next to me. The same cliff that still calls to me. As if beckoning me to jump.

"Remember this place. Home." I mutter to myself.

Where have I heard that? Have I ever heard that?

"Why me? Why not Thor, or Odin for that matter? What makes me so different from them?" I ask him.

"For your age, You'd already be comparable to both of them. It took Thor over one thousand years to get where he is and you've nearly caught up in about three. You've grown stronger here than any of us could of imagined. The only way to know how strong, is to Keep.. Testing.. Your Limits."

I lift a foot of over the edge. I try to keep my balance, "Mastering others is strength, mastering yourself is true power. Lao Tzu."

"You will give the people of the Nine Realms an ideal to strive towards. They will race behind you, they will stumble, they will fall. But in time, they will join you in the light, Baldur. In time, you will help them accomplish wonders."

"My name was Baldur?," I ask.

"Baldur Odinson. Rightful heir to the throne of Asgard. You may have been left on Midgard as an infant, but rumors and stories of Odin's firstborn spread fast."

"... It was you, wasn't--"

My words were cut off by a plane flying over head. It was high up but the sound from the left turbine distracted me. It was burning and smoking as it few by.

I take a few steps back from the edge of the cliff. Heimdall turns to face me.

"Is this what you meant as an Ideal to strive toward? An ideal of Hope?"

"And embodied in that hope is the belief that every person has the potential to be a force for good. That's what you can bring them," he tells me.

I nod and take a few more steps back then run towards the edge. And as soon as I reach the cliffside, I leap.

I leap and fall.

Falling through the air at nearly 150 miles per hour. The wind not putting up any resistance. The sound of the rushing waves below getting closer. But the sound of a failing turbine engine getting farther.

What made me think this was a good idea? No ideas are a good idea. I'm not just falling. This wasn't just a leap.

But how do I know I'm ready? Is anyone truly ready?

No. No one knows when their ready.

It's just a leap of faith.

I continue getting closer and closer to the bottom, until my fall abruptly comes to a complete halt. I look out ahead of me to see the plane in the distance. I kick off the side of the cliff and I'm sent soaring.

I eventually close in on the plane as it gets closer to land.

I reach out and grab onto one of the wings.

I pull upward in an attempt to move the plane towards land. It tilts as we move inland. But the wings is torn off from the force as the plane starts falling down faster while spinning erratically.

I fly over to the torn wing to my right and kick off it.

Trying to catch up to the nose diving plane the other wing breaks off. I fly into the second torn wing, ripping through it like paper.

I fly faster and reach the front of the plane as it spirals downward.

I push up into the nose, trying to catch it before it hits the ground. I continue pushing causing the nose to push inward. I eventually feel my feet touch the ground.

Still holding the plane in the air, I slowly drop it onto the ground. I look around noticing we were in a stadium. I look back at the plane to make sure it was alright, then back into the crowd at the stadium who had their phones out.

I continue staring for a solid few minute before jumping into the air.

----- January 10th, 2012 - Queens, New York -----

The car door opens and in steps Fury.

I look over at him, just smiling waiting for him to speak first. He just looks over at me for a second as the SUV starts moving.

"You know why you're here?" he finally asks.

"Cuz you like my smile and witty remarks?"

"You've been skipping your classes," He takes out a picture from his pocket and tosses to to me, "And on one of those days, you went out and caught a god damn plane!"

I pick up to picture and look at it. It was me in the stadium in Sweden, lifting the plane in the air.

"At least it wasn't about the bus I pulled from a lake," I tell him.

"What bus?"

I look over at him to see him frowning. I just nervously smile and shrug, "I didn't say anything about a bus."

The SUV comes to a stop next to an apartment complex. Fury tosses another thing at me, this time it was a piece of paper with a number on it.

"Since you won't attend your classes, I managed to come to an.. arrangement with the school. In exchange for you to continue enrollment, another student will be tutoring you. And they will have a say on whether you pass or fail"

I pick up the paper and read it, "Isn't that like kinda Illegal?"

"Most of the things I do are classified as Illegal," he points to the building we're parked at, "this is where he lives."

"Wait, that starts right now?"

"Yes, It starts now. Now go."

I open and get out the car, "Fine, geez."

The car speeds off. I look up at the building. Might as well get this over with.
