--- April 28th, 2015 - HYDRA Research Base, Sokovia ---

"Report to your stations immediately. This is not a drill. We are under attack. We are under attack."

Just outside, Clint Barton and Natasha Romanoff can be seen barreling though the snowy woods in a 'commandeered' HYDRA jeep.

Natasha was driving, Clint was firing with his bow.

At what you may ask?

From the countless HYDRA soldiers either driving around after them, Hovering through air with flight vests, or running after them from their front.

One of the Hover Soldiers comes up along Natasha, to which she just decks him in the face then kicks the car door into him causing him to go tumbling off to the side.

One lands on the back, Clint throws a right hook then slams his head down onto the side of the jeep. He then immediately goes back to firing arrows at other Soldiers.

Tony Stark, in full Iron Man armor, comes flying past them and takes off ahead.

Another Jeep pulls up just next to the pair.

The one soldier in the back goes to fire at them.

Suddenly, a rogue Thor comes, landing onto the enemy Jeep and ripping the Soldier out, tossing him to the side. He swings his hammer momentarily before leaping into the air.

He lands a few yards ahead on a guard tower, just as Natasha and Clint drive past below him.

Three Soldiers were up there with The God of Thunder.

He kicks one off the edge, then dodges the hit from another. Then swiftly turns to him and pushes him off with his friend.

He then throws his hammer into the chest of the last one, as Iron Man goes flying behind him firing at a group of Soldiers.

A Hover Soldier flies at Thor, he just grabs him from midair and slams him into the wood tower.

The tower breaks and Thor drops to the ground.

As he lands in the middle of a group of Soldiers, he lifts a staff sized piece of debris and whips it into a few of them.

Then a Motorcycle comes soaring through a few in the group.

Steve Rogers AKA Captain America was driving through, knocking a few of them over. But he grabs the leg of one and drags him across the ground.

Cap swerves past an explosion and tosses the Soldier into two others standing beside each other.

He then quickly grabs his shield off his back and chucks it at a few more. It bounces of a couple men then off a few trees before hitting one last guy, as Cap drives beside it grabbing it midbounce.

He continues riding, coming up on a tank.

Cap drifts to the left as Thor drops from above through the tank.

A huge chunk of the tank goes flying.

But comes to a stop as it's grabbed by everyone's favorite green rage boy, The Hulk.

Hulk launches the debris to the side into a few Hover Soldiers before lunging himself into a few on the ground. He picks them up by the collarbones and throws them over his shoulder with a roar.

Hulk then barrels into a few more Soldiers, knocking them all feet away.

Natasha and Clint speed past him.

Steve gained on them.

Natasha and Clint swerve as they come up on a barricade and they both leap out the Jeep.

Steve jumped the Barricade on his bike.

Thor dropped from the sky as lightning struck his hammer.

Iron Man soared beside them.

And Hulk Roared as he ran in a rage.

While on the other side, a bunch of HYDRA soldiers were wildly firing at the group. They clearly knew they weren't going to win, but they plan to go down fighting.

Iron Man sped up, grabbing a Soldier off the ground and spinning before tossing him into a tree.

He then took off past the fight and towards a large building encompassing the entirety of a small mountain top and side.

Shots fired from the Base to which Iron Man dodged and weaved.

He got closer to the building and went to possibly burst in through the roof, but..

Iron Man bounces roughly off a blue forcefield that surrounds the base, "Shit!"

"Language!," Steve shouts over comms, before immediately saying, "JARVIS, what's the view from upstairs?"

"The central building is protected by some kind of energy shield. Strucker's technology is well beyond any other HYDRA base we've taken."

A few yards away from Steve, Thor kicks a Soldier back then tosses his hammer at another before adding over comms, "Loki's scepter must be here. Strucker couldn't mount this defense without it. At long last."

Thor calls his hammer as a Soldier runs up behind him, but Thor sidesteps Mjolnir as it whips past him and into the Soldier.

He recalls Mjolnir, grabbing it from the air.

A few feet away, Natasha tosses a bomb into a passing enemy Jeep and she dodges enemy fire. It explodes just as she punches a Soldier and rolls down a short hill.

She runs up on two more Soldiers.

She quickly leaps up, wrapping her legs around one of the Soldiers heads tightly and grabbing the head of the other. Natasha then snaps both their necks as she drops them and rolls back up to her feet.

"'At long last' is lasting a little long, boys," she says as she turns and fires her pistol at another Soldier manning a turret.

A few more yards away, Clint dodges and weaves through trees as a turret in a mini-bunker fires at him. He fires at it once quickly, causing it to explode, before he finds himself cover behind one of the trees.

"Yeah. I think we lost the element of surprise," he adds, sarcastically.

Up at the HYDRA Base, as Iron Man fires at a few Soldiers, he swerves the conversation, "Wait a second. No one else is going to deal with the fact that Cap just said.. 'language?'"

Steve rolls his eyes as he drives straight ahead towards a truck of Soldiers.

"I know," He says before flipping forwards off his bike, still holding onto it, and throws it at the truck, "..It just slipped out."

A man comes running up the stairs into a room of Soldiers.

As he walked into the middle of the room, another man walked up to him. A doctor by the looks of it.

"Who gave the order to attack?," the man demanded.

"Herr Strucker, it's the Avengers!," one replies.

Another one says, "They landed in the far woods, the perimeter guard panicked."

"They have to be after the scepter," Stucker whispers to the doctor, before turning to the soldiers, "Can we hold them?"

"They're the Avengers!"

"..All of them?," Strucker asks.

The soldier looks at him, "N-No, sir."

"Deploy the rest of the tanks."

"...Yes, sir," the soldier says walking off.

Strucker then starts saying everything aloud to the others, "Concentrate fire on the weak ones. A hit can make them close ranks," he then turns and whispers quietly to the Doctor once more, "Everything we've accomplished... But we're on the verge of our greatest breakthrough."

The doctor nods before looking over to the corner of the room, "Then let's show them what we've accomplished.. Send out the twins."

The doctor was staring over at a boy and girl standing off to the side.

Wanda and Pietro Maximoff..

"...It's too soon," Strucker replied.

"It's what they signed up for."

"My men can hold them," Strucker tells the doctor after he glances over at the twins.

As Strucker moves back towards the center of the room, and towards his Soldiers, Pietro watches him. Wanda, on the other hand, looks the opposite direction.

"We will not yield," Strucker announces, "The Americans sent their 'circus freaks' to test us. We will send them back in bags. No surrender!"

"No Surrender!"

As the Soldiers get back to work, Strucker turns back to the doctor.

"..I am going to surrender. You will delete everything. If we give the Avengers the weapons, they may not look too far into what we've been--"

"The twins..," the doctor says as he looks to the side.

"They're not ready to take on--"

"No, no. I mean...," he points to where Wanda and Pietro Maximoff were standing, but are now gone, "..The Twins."

A blur can be seen speeding along a train track, before veering off through the forest.

A few Yards away, Clint Barton runs through and around gun fire.

He takes cover behind a tree for a moment.

Waiting for the perfect moment..

He nocks an arrow.

Aims at a bunkered turret, then releases.

He wait a second, expecting an explosion.

But it never came..

His brow furrows before he nocks another arrow and aims at the bunkered turret once more. But suddenly, he tumbles to the ground as a blur runs past him.

Barton looks up as Pietro Maximoff, walking normally past him, smirks and says sarcastically, "You didn't see that coming?"

Pietro then sped off as Clint jumps to his feet with an arrow nocked once more.

Clint just stares at where he was as the Turret from the bunker pops out again and fires. The laser shot hits him in the side of his gut.

A few yards away, Pietro speed towards Steve.

He rams into him, but Steve just flips in midair and lands on his knee. Quickly he stands from his rather unfazed crouched position.

"We have an enhanced in the field," Steve says over comms as he runs off.

Back with Clint, Natasha quickly runs up next to him.

"Clint's hit!," she says, taking a look at the wound, "Somebody want to deal with that bunker?"

Suddenly, The Hulk comes barreling down into the bunker, reducing it to nothing.

"Thank you," Nat says, looking back down at Clint's wound.

A couple miles away, Steve tossed his shield at a few Soldiers. He leg drops one and grabs his shield from the air and bashes it against the head of another Soldier.

"Stark, we really need to get inside," Steve says over comms.

"I'm closing in."

Tony gets shot at a few feet above the ground. He tumble for a moment before landing on the ground in a dope pose. 

He fires at a few Soldiers, knocking the over a railing and off the mountains. Then spins and fires at the last one sending him back a few feet.

"JARVIS, am I... closing in?," Tony asks, "Do you see a power source for that shield?"

He then jumps over the railing before taking off flying again.

"There's a particle wave below the north tower."

"Great, I wanna poke it with something," Tony replies as he fires at a few Soldiers.

Iron Man then flies directly through the windshield of a truck, flying out the backside. He then soars up higher into the air before sending a missile deep under the ground well below the forcefield.

In his HUD he sees that he hits something.

Then the Blue forcefield surrounding the base dissipates.

"Drawbridge is down, people!"

Thor lands next to Steve as he pulls back his shield to his arm.

"The enhanced?," Thor asks.

"He's a blur. All the new player's we've faced, I've never seen this," Steve replies, "If only Y/N was here.."

Over comms, the two hear Natasha, "Clint's hit pretty bad, guys. We're gonna need evac."

A tank rolls over the hills towards them. A group of Soldiers on the ground run just in front of it, seemingly getting into a formation.

"I can get Barton to the jet. The sooner we're gone the better," Thor says before telling Steve, "You and Stark secure the scepter."

"Copy that."

The two of the look over at the Soldiers.

Thor smirks, "It looks like they're lining up."

"Well, they're excited," Steve jokes as he holds up his shield.

Thor draws back his hammer and slams it against Steve's shield, the resulting wave of force knocks down all the Soldiers. It also rips through the tank, flipping it over onto its split back.

"Find the scepter," Thor says before he takes off into the sky.

Suddenly over comms, Tony tells him, "And for gosh sake, watch your language!"

Steve lets out a sigh, his head dropping down in embarrassment, as he mumble, "..That's not going away anytime soon..."

Tony rips through a window into the HYDRA Base.

The Soldiers inside immediately start firing, the bullet bouncing off his suit. Tony just hovers there staring at them.

"Guys, stop, we gotta talk this through," he says before shooting down the soldiers using rockets from his suit, "It was a good talk."

"No it wasn't," one Soldier instantly replies as he writhes on the floor in pain.

Tony just swerves into the next room.

The doctor was at a computer, doing what he was told. But when he looked over and noticed him, Iron Man blasted him away. The doctor fell back unconscious.

The Iron Man suit opens up and Tony steps out calmly.

"Sentry mode," he says as he walks over to the computers, "Okay, JARVIS. You know I want it all. Make sure you copy Hill at HQ."

Over comms he hears Natasha, "We're locked down out here."

"Then get to banner, time for a lullaby," Steve also says over comms.

But Tony ignores the comms, looking away from the computer and glancing around the room.

"I know you're hiding more than files," he mutters to himself, then turns to his suit, "Hey, J, give me an IR scan of the room, real quick."

A red beam shoots out from the suit as it scan along the entirety of the room.

"The wall to your left," JARVIS says as the scan comes to a stop, "I'm reading steel reinforcement... and an air current."

Tony walks over to the wall, muttering to himself, "Please be a secret door, please be a secret door, please be a secret door..."

He pushes against the wall and it opens up to reveal that secret door.

"Yay!," he cheers as he enters through to a secret passageway.

Natasha walks up to find the Hulk slamming and tossing broken tank parts against the ground. 

"Hey, big guy," she says.

Hulk sharply turns and scowls at her.

"The sun's getting real low."

He roars.

Natasha kneels next to him and holds out her hand. The Hulk twitches as he moves closer. He touches her hand and as she strokes his hand, slowly he starts to calm down.

Hulk quickly stumbles away, his green skin becoming much less green.

He was noticeably shrinking in size.

He falls to the ground, now Bruce Banner lying there staring at the dirt. The green in his veins finally disappearing completely.

Strucker runs up another flight of stairs.

A soldier comes flying past him through a door as he reaches the top. Steve comes walking in, as the two come face to face.

"Baron Strucker. Hydra's number one thug," Steve says as if greeting.

"Technically, I'm a thug for SHIELD," Strucker replies with a grin as Steve steps closer.

"Well then technically you're unemployed," Steve tells him, "Where's Loki's scepter?"

"Don't worry, I know when I'm beat. You'll mention how I cooperated, I hope."

"I'll put it right under illegal human experimentation. How many are there?"

Suddenly, Steve gets knocked down the stairs with a red blast.

Just as he jumps to his feet and runs back up the stairs, he notices as Wanda Maximoff disappears into the next room, the doors closing behind her.

He quickly says into his comms, "We have a second enhanced. Female. Do not engage."

Steve turns back to Strucker, who hadn't moves an inch or tried running.

"You'll have to be faster than--"

He's cut off mid-sentence when the window gets bashed into.

Steve shields his eyes as whatever came in from outside landed onto Strucker, knocking him out cold.

Steve lowers his arms from the impact and smiles wide at what he sees.

Y/N was standing there with his foot on top of Baron Strucker's chest.

The grey S on his chest was shining from the sunlight and his midnight black cape was flowing from the wind coming in from the broken window.

"Kept you waiting, huh?," Y/N says with a grin.

"About time you showed up," Steve replies.

"Guys, We got Strucker," Tony hears Steve announce over comms.

Tony walks into a big room filled with a bunch of clearly illegal stuff, "Yeah, I got... something bigger."

He found a room with a variety of technology, as well as recovered artifacts from the Battle of New York.

There was a gigantic Chitauri leviathan in the center and some of his scrapped armor.

He then spots the scepter a few feet away.

"Thor, I got eyes on the prize," he says.

He steps closer to it, just a few feet away..

But then Wanda appears behind him, her hands glowing red just around his head. He seems out of it for a moment, oblivious to what's happening.

Wanda disappears into the shadows.

Tony's eyes squint before he turns around..

The Chitauri corpse comes to life and roars.

Tony backs away in shock as the Chitauri seemingly starts flying off, ripping through the walls and ceiling. But on the other side of the walls wasn't the snowy woods of Sokovia.

Tony immediately notices what looks like the majority of the Avengers on laying on the ground.. dead. All amongst millions of other people dead all around them.

Hulk..

Natasha...

Clint....

Thor.....

He notices Steve's shield snapped in half beside the Captain.

Tony quickly kneels beside him. Slowly his hand moves to check for a pulse.

Then suddenly Steve's hand shoots up, grabbing Tony's.

"You.. could've... saved us," Steve says before collapsing dead.

But Tony could still hear Steve's voice in his head..

"Why didn't you do more?"

"Beware.. The.. Man of Steel.."

Tony looks up to see that he is in the Chitauri realm, and that the Chitauri are invading Earth. Hundreds upon Hundreds of Chitauri soaring past him through the portal.

When he looks up higher.. that's when he sees it.

Y/N hovering in midair.

Just staring ahead at the Chitauri and upon Earth.

Then his eyes slowly turns back at Tony.

His skin a pale grey, with darker grey veins...

His eyes glowing an angry bright red...

But then it all quickly disappeared.

Tony was once again standing in the HYDRA Research base hidden lab. He was back in reality but the look on his face shows that his mind was still stuck on whatever he saw.

Wanda was standing off to the side in the dark watching him. She clearly saw what he saw as well.

Pietro speeds up next to her quietly as Tony summons his suit gauntlet oblivious to the pair.

"We're just going to let them take it?," Pietro whispers to his sister.

She says nothing as Tony just rips the scepter from whatever containment field was holding it.

Wanda and Pietro Maximoff turn to walk away but stop in their tracks.

Y/N was standing right in front of them.

Y/N just tilts his head as he stares at Wanda. Wanda stares back at him.

Pietro goes to run at him, but Wanda just holds a hand up to stop him.

Surprisingly, Y/N moves to the side.

The twins look at him questioningly. But instead of verbally doing so they just start to walk away.

Wanda walks past him just a couple feet away.

Y/N and Wanda glance back at the other over their shoulders.

They both blink as they look back ahead.

Both of their eyes flickering a dull orange.
