chapter fifteen

"hey, love. i'm ba—"

jaehyun was cut off when he didn’t see taeyong inside the room. the bed was too messy like taeyong was in a rush to leave. jaehyun was about to leave again but his eyes saw something.

it was the mission letter.

"fuck." he hissed.

he immediately ran out of the room, leaving the food behind on the table. johnny and ten who just came out from the kitchen saw jaehyun.

"hey, what happened?" ten asked, frowning.

"taeyong..." he gulped. "he knew."

"he what?!" ten asked.

"he saw the mission letter," jaehyun said. "we need to find him now, please, he was not feeling well today. i don't want something bad to happen to him." he said worriedly.

not until they heard a shout, their eyes went to ten and taeyong's room. the shout came there and it was familiar, realizing who it was, the three suddenly looked at each other before running towards the room.

"taeyong? baby? are you there?" jaehyun asked as he knocked on the door.

"tae? it's us, please. open the door!" ten said softly.

"baby, let us explain..." jaehyun said.

"you all fooled me!" taeyong shouted.

"we did not!" ten said.

"i trust all of you! i treat you all like my new family!" he hissed.

and that made the three do not respond, jaehyun let out a sigh and looked at the couple behind him. they just exchanged some meaningful stares before the couple had decided to leave, giving the two some time.

"baby? it's me jaehyun, ten and johnny have left." he said softly. "could you please open this door and let me explain?"

"what would you explain?! i already knew everything!" taeyong shouted.

"no, you're not." jaehyun said.

"i am!" he argued.

"no," the younger one said. "you didn’t even know that the old man you met at the garden was my father."

and that jaehyun got a silence as the older one's response. he smirked as he heard taeyong's footsteps and later on, the door finally opened.

"you're fucking liar!" and he hit jaehyun's chest.

stopping his wrist, jaehyun tilted his head as he read taeyong's mind. so, he met selena earlier? some of what she said were true but the others were completely not true. wonder why this adorable human being here is mad and upset.

"yes, i'm a prince. the only son of king jung of the south kingdom." jaehyun started. "yes, i'm here because of the mission i was tasked to do. yes, i got mad at you for being here even though it was just an accident. because who would not though? i just want to finish my mission peacefully but i have to take care of you." he continued.

"i want to finish my mission so i can replace my dad's position already. it's not because i want more power but because it was already my time and i don't want my dad to get old leading the south." and his hand gently touches taeyong's cheeks. "and that's the reason why selena keeps chasing me, she wants to get me back so she could be a queen. so, if ever selena says something about my feelings and intention towards you is not true."

"you're the first person that i genuinely introduced to my father, the first person i will sacrifice for, the first person i treated like this. i already gave you my first, is that not enough to prove my love for you?"

he smirked as he saw how taeyong blushed, the older one hit his chest again but pouted afterwards and hugged him.

"sorry..." taeyong said.

"not accepted, sorry, should have a kiss here and here." jaehyun said and pointed at his cheeks and lips.

"love, is that really your father?" taeyong asked, not minding what jaehyun said about the kiss. "you guys do not look alike."

"it's actually my dad's ability, he can change his whole features." jaehyun said. "love, my kiss..." he whined.

"woah, that actually sounds amazing..." taeyong said, purposely ignoring jaehyun.

"dad actually did not expect to meet you though," jaehyun said. leaning closer while pouting but taeyong moved away, acting like he was surprised.

"baby, are you teasing me?"

and that made taeyong immediately hold his smile back, jaehyun looked so offended when taeyong was ignoring his kiss.

"hmm?" taeyong asked innocently.

"i just want a kiss!" he whined.

"by the way, why did your father come here?" taeyong asked, still ignoring jaehyun's wishes. "and selena told me that you guys might get punished."

"yes, we might. but if we follow and do not break the deal we made, we will not get punished." jaehyun said and sat down on taeyong's bed. "while dad went here to fix something to send you... home." and he looked away.

"can i go home now?" taeyong asked surprisingly, eyes were shining.

he didn’t know why he acted like this, as if last time he kept ignoring the portal he was seeing in the garden.

jaehyun suddenly looked up because of taeyong's reaction, he also heard his thoughts which he also decided not to because he couldn't help not to overthink about it.

yes, jaehyun can actually control his ability to hear someone's thoughts. it's already up to him if he would read their thoughts or not.

"baby, if selena say something—"

"jae, i know it's too early to say this but... can't you love selena again?" taeyong cut him off.

"she's already from the past, baby. and to answer your question, i can't." jaehyun said. "i'm already into you..."

"but we still had to separate in the end..." taeyong said softly and walked closer to him.

jaehyun let out a pout and pulled taeyong down to his thigh, burying his face on the older one's neck.

"if we had to separate in the end, always remember that i want you to be safe... that, that's the only thing i can do to prove my love for you..." jaehyun said softly.

"you already proved your love for me, love..." taeyong said. "i was the one who should have said that..."

"showing that soft side of yours is already fine..." he giggled.

"tss, just say you can't handle my annoying and spoiled side." taeyong said, chuckling.

"a bit, love." he smiled. "can we cuddle, please?"

"we haven't eaten yet, love. besides, ten and others might still be waiting for us." taeyong said softly as he brushed jaehyun's hair.

"i'm sorry... i just suddenly want to keep you beside me all the time..." he whispered.

taeyong just smiled and hugged him. he was also hurt but he already expected this. this is what is destined to them, he just hopes that someday, they will meet again.

"live the life when you come back to your home, okay? don't mind your parents, just be yourself. if you have to cut your connections to them, do it." jaehyun said.

why does it feel like... taeyong was near to go home?

"i don't want to meet you again, still being pressured." jaehyun said.

"will we meet again?" taeyong asked.

"of course, baby." jaehyun said and kissed his lips. "we will."

taeyong just pouted and hugged him, jaehyun let out a chuckle and hugged him back. after a few minutes, they had decided to come out and there they found the others waiting for them.

taeyong hugged each of them, the others also apologized to him for lying about their real identity and intention in this place. but taeyong doesn't mind it, he was even thankful because even though he just came here accidentally and he was not part of their task, they still accept him and handle his annoying attitude.

"ten will replace his dad's position first than jaehyun," winwin said. "you could come," he smiled.

"go with donghyuck!" ten said happily.

"i can?" his eyes sparkled.

"of course, you can!" ten said. "it's either my wedding or my coronation day. just ask donghyuck." he smiled.

taeyong was beyond happy, he couldn't even help hugging them again. he just felt that he was already near to coming home, so why not to enjoy every second time passed by.

"baby, if ever i didn’t show up and you really had your queen to be a king..." taeyong started. "find your own queen, please?"

"love..." jaehyun said.

"don't wait for me, hmm? i wasn't saying this because i won't come back here. i was just saying this because i want the best for you..." taeyong said.

"king needs a queen, not a king…"
