X. Rescued

"Alfred I can't find Eliza anywhere." Bruce told Alfred as he walked around hopeless and frantically. "Maybe she spent the night at her friend's house?" Alfred suggested. "If she did she would have called me. I've called her and texted her and she hasn't responded or read the messages. I'm going to go find her." Bruce said but Alfred stopped him. "I'm afraid you can't sir. It's time. It's time to take down Superman." Alfred said.

"I can't just leave. I don't know where Eliza is." Bruce replied. "I know sir but you have to battle him. You're doing this for your daughter, maybe Superman has some answers." Alfred said. "You're right! Maybe that son of a bitch took her. I need to take him down. I need to see if he is linked to Eliza's disappearance in any way." Bruce said walking away angrily.

It was late at night and the rain fell as thunder and lightning illuminated the sky. Batman stood in his armored Bat-suit capable to withstand Superman's powers making it an equal and fair fight for the two of them. Superman then landed on the ground and took a couple of steps towards Batman. "Well? Here I am." Batman said. "Bruce please I was wrong you have to listen to me." Superman said walking towards Batman but Batman stepped back as he tried to approach him.

Superman stepped on a wire which activated speakers that were close by and they blasted a high pitched sound making Superman back down a little bit. Batman smirked with delight but it soon faded away when Superman grabbed the top of a sewer and destroyed the speakers with it. "You don't understand there is no time." Superman said as he walked towards Batman their faces were inches away from each other's.

"I understand." Batman gritted through his teeth. Superman pushed him with his hand making Batman go tumbling. Batman groaned as he tried to get up and instead he activated the machine guns. The bullets managed to push back Superman a couple of feet but then he flew up into the air and used his lasers to destroy the machine guns. Once Batman stood up Superman blasted him through a building and a roof, taking him in the air.

Superman threw Batman into the Batsignal making him crash into it and land on the edge of the building. Batman panted as he tried to get up. "Stay down! If I wanted it you'd be dead already." Superman said. Batman ignored the comment and took out a smoke bomb. He dropped it in front of him taking the opportunity to take out his other weapon. Once the smoke cleared Superman looked around him.

He didn't see anything but felt someone behind him. Superman turned around just in time as he caught a giant bullet in his hand. After a few seconds green smoke filled the air making Superman drop down onto his knees as he coughed helplessly. The toxic kryptonite gas was working, poisoning and weakening his body. "Breathe it in. That's fear. You're not brave." Batman said. As the kryptonite disappeared Superman got up and threw a punch at Batman.

Batman stuck his arm out, stopping the punch and Superman looked at him very confused. "Men are brave." Batman continued. The two heroes fought each other throwing punches left and right. Batman was winning, he threw Superman onto the roof and he landed on top of him making both of them fall through the ceiling. Superman threw Batman through a wall, and Batman got up angrily.

Batman punched Superman and his head cocked to the side every time. Superman decided he wouldn't give up so easily and stiffened his head so the punches weren't doing any damage to him. Batman backed away and Superman smirked he grabbed Batman and slammed him through the walls. Batman took out his weapon and shot another bullet of kryptonite at Superman. He fell down to his knees.

Batman ripped a sink out of the wall of the old building and smashed it against Superman's head making him fall to the ground. Superman layed on the ground motionless and Batman picked him up and threw him over a circle of staircases. Batman grabbed his grappling hook and shot it at the ceiling as he went down and landed next to where Superman had fallen. Batman wrapped the wire with his grappling hook around Superman's ankle.

He spun Superman around the building knocking down the pipes and pillar as he flew through the air. Batman let go of the wire and Superman fell on the rocks and grunted. "They told me the world only made sense if you forced it to." Batman said picking up the spear he had made out of the kryptonite and walked towards Superman. "You were never a god. You were never even a man either." Batman said placing his foot on Superman's throat and making a cut on his cheek with the spear.

Batman placed the spear over his head about to strike Superman. "Don't l-let her d-die. Save E-Eliza." Superman groaned out. "What does that mean? How do you know her?" Batman asked. "Find him. Save Eliza." Superman said once again. Batman was flooded of images of his daughter. From the moment she was a baby, when she was 4, her middle school graduation, her first day of high school to the present, of him and her.

"Eliza? Why did you say that name?!" Batman exclaimed. "Don't! Please! Stop." A lady said running in as she sat next to Superman. "Why did you say that name?!" Batman exclaimed once again. "It's his girlfriend's name. It's his girlfriend's name." The lady said. Batman realized the connection.

Everything soon made sense to him. It was his daughter. Batman lifted his foot off of Superman's chest and threw the spear made out of kryptonite. "Clark." Batman said. "Luthor, he wanted your life for hers she's loosing time." Superman said and Batman helped him up.

"The ship seems to be drawing power from the city it's gotta be Lex." Lois said. "I'll find Eliza." Batman said. "My girlfriend needs me." Superman said. "I made you a promise. Eliza won't die tonight. I know how much you love her now and I'll bring her back safely." Batman said. "Okay Superman replied. "I'm sorry I never meant to hurt Eliza in the accident in Metropolis." Superman said. "I accept your apology Clark. It wasn't your fault. I know it wasn't your intention." Batman said and Superman nodded.

Eliza's POV

"I guess this is goodbye." A man said holding the flame thrower. I wasn't afraid of death, I had been in this type of situation before. I was afraid that I wouldn't see my dad or Clark again. "And every time we say goodbye you die a little inside." The man continued. The building then started to shake and everyone look confused. There was suddenly shouts, grunts and gun shots coming from outside the door. Once they had stopped everyone and everything went silent.

That was until someone crashed through the wall. It was Batman, my dad. He held a guy with a gun and pointed it to the man that was holding the flame thrower at me. "Drop it. I said drop it! I'll kill her. Believe me I'll do it." The guy said in his thick Russian accent and Batman looked at me and back at him. "I believe you." Batman said. He shot the barrel of gas with the gun and as the flames were about to hit me Batman ran in and shielded me from the flames.

"Dad you came." I said as I hugged him. "Of course pumpkin. I could never abandon you." Dad said as he also hugged me back. "Did you know Clark is Superman?" Dad asked. "Of course that little disguise of his wasn't technically a good one." I said. "I fought him Eliza." Dad said. "What? You didn't kill him did you?" I asked. "No because I found out that he is actually a good guy and he never meant to hurt you in the accident of Metropolis." Dad said.

"I'm glad you realized that. Where is he now?" I asked. "After we made up and realized that Lex was the bad guy since the beginning Clark is speaking to him right now." Dad said. "Okay." I replied. "I think it's time Batwoman helps us. Go turn in Lex to the authorities for all of the crimes that he has committed that is your mission." Dad said. "Alright let's go suit up." I said referring to myself. Time for Batwoman to make her first appearance.
