VII. The Birth of Batwoman

The bright sun was shining through Eliza's windows and birds chirped happily outside. She turned to look at the clock and it was 8:00 am, a perfect time to wake up. Eliza walked to the bathroom and brushed her teeth. Then looked through her closet and found what she would be wearing to her father's job today. It was a classy and sophisticated company and since she is the daughter of Bruce Wayne she couldn't show up wearing just anything.

She put on a white blouse with it tucked into her black skirt, a black blazer, some orange/ black heels and her white tote bag with some sunglasses. After she was done getting dressed she brushed her hair and went down stairs. Bruce was already at the table, waiting for her. "Morning dad." She said happily while kissing her father's cheek. "Good morning sweetie looking lovely as always." Bruce complimented also kissing his daughter's cheek.

"Thank you, I do get it from my dad." Eliza winked. "Yes you do." Bruce smiled. "Good morning Master Wayne and Miss Eliza. Here is your breakfast, hope you enjoy." Alfred said putting the trays down and the two smiled. "Thank you Alfred it's delicious as always." Eliza smiled taking a bite out of her pancake. Alfred smiled and walked back into the kitchen. "Dad. Why didn't you want me to know that you were Batman?" Eliza asked breaking the silence.

Bruce was hesitant for a moment before speaking. "I wanted to protect you. I thought that if you didn't know that maybe you would be safer. But no matter how much I tried someone was always trying to target you." Bruce said. "I'm glad you told me dad. But how about if I was your sidekick. Think about it Batman and Batwoman." Eliza said and her eyes sparkled imagining the possibilities.

"Eliza you know I would love to have you be my sidekick but it's too dangerous. I already lost Jason with the Joker. I can't loose you too." Bruce finished off. "But you won't. I understand though if you don't want me to I won't." Eliza said. "How bad do you want to be Batwoman?" Bruce asked. "Really bad, more than anything." Eliza replied. "Fine let's make a deal you can be Batwoman but you'll have to train a lot, stay by my side and always go on missions with me and never by yourself." Bruce stated.

"Okay deal." Eliza said. "We will start training in a couple of days." Bruce said. "Okay. Happy to be your partner." Eliza said. "Pleasure doing business with you." Bruce said and the two shook each others hands before laughing. After Eliza and Bruce finished their breakfast they went to Wayne Enterprises. Eliza, Bruce and an assistant sat in a conference room with multiple TVs in the room watching the Committee Hearing.

"The hearing is expected to start in any minute now and of course the big unknown in all of this is.. Will Superman show up? Mr. Keith quick question for you." The reporter said as Bruce and Eliza watched. It was Wallace a former employee and he was going to testify. "You're heading in with the senators. What will you tell them?" The lady asked. "I've come here to tell them to wake up. This is flesh and blood." Wallace explained.

"Superman has delivered a war. This is what war looks like." Wallace said and the camera moved down showing half of his legs. His legs had been amputated after debris fell on then. "There are plenty of people sir that say that he is their hero." The reporter said. "He is not a hero." Wallace exclaimed.

"Grace could you get Greg up here please right now." Bruce told the lady in the room and she walked out. Moments later Greg walked into the room. "Why has he been getting our checks?" Bruce asked. "Mr. Wayne he has been getting a background check for victims each month." Greg replied handing him the checks. Bruce looked at the checks each one said something different. "He returned them." Greg said.

Bruce Wayne: Open Your Eyes

I am your ghost

BRUCE TRUCE NO

BRUCE WAYNE I HAUNT YOU

BRUCE WAYNE= BLIND

"Why haven't I seen this?" Bruce asked. "I'm sorry sir I'll get to the bottom of this." Greg said walking out and Eliza shook her head. "And there he is Superman is here he is at the United States capitol. This is a historic moment. He will give a statement to the senate and of course to the world." The news reporter said. "Another one came in this morning Mr. Wayne." Greg said handing Bruce another letter. It seemed like forever. As if time slowed down as they watched on TV.

That's when it all went off. Fire and smoke shot out of the Capitol building. People were screaming and the camera was moving and shaking everywhere. Bruce opened the letter and Eliza walked and stood next to him. It was a page of the newspaper, the headline read "WAYNE TOWER DEVASTATED DOZENS KILLED." But on the newspaper written in big red letters "YOU LET YOUR FAMILY DIE. ELIZA IS NEXT."

Eliza looked at the paper in fear while Bruce looked at it in anger. Bruce and Eliza hugged each other and tears escaped Eliza's eyes. "I'm next dad. I'm next." Eliza said quietly. "No you're not. Not on my watch. I won't let anything happen to you." Bruce said holding his daughter tighter than ever and kissing the top of her head.

Eliza and Bruce left Wayne Enterprises and were now at the house. "Eliza go change we're about to start training." Bruce said. "Really? I thought you said in a couple of days." Eliza recalled. "After what happened today I decided that we need to get you prepared now more than ever." Bruce said and Eliza nodded before going upstairs. Eliza put her tote bag in her closet and changed into a sports bra, leggings and gym shoes before walking into the Batcave.

"Okay first we're going to start off with a work out and then the hard part, fighting and training." Bruce explained and Eliza nodded. "You are going to do 10 sets of each exercise and you get a 2 minute rest in between sets." Bruce continued. "Okay so what exercises am I doing?" Eliza asked. "You're going to faint when I tell you." Bruce said. "Just say it." Eliza said.

"10 jumping lunges, 40 punches, 20 high knees, 10 squat front kicks, 10 plank leg raises, 10 knee-to-elbow climbers, 10 cross punch sit-ups, 10 reverse crunches, and 10 knee-to-elbow crunches." Bruce finished off. Eliza took a deep breath. "Okay let's do this." Eliza said. Bruce was there for Eliza every step of the way. Even when Eliza was tired or felt like giving up Bruce helped her out and encouraged her to continue.

Bruce observed as Eliza almost finished her workouts, she was pretty good and strong for a girl her age and Bruce knew deep down inside that she was ready to be his sidekick but he didn't want to admit it. "Okay dad I'm done what's next?" Eliza said eagerly taking a sip out of her water. "Next up the hard part. Training." Bruce said. "Attack me." He continued. "I can't attack my da-" Eliza was about to say but Bruce caught her off and threw a punch at her.

Luckily Eliza blocked the punch and twisted her father's arm. "Okay okay you got that part." Bruce said clenching his teeth. "Sorry dad." Eliza said. "No worries either way we're training and you're going to need to do this stuff." Bruce said. The two continued punching, kicking and flipping each other. Eliza used some of her gymnastic skills to jump out of the way of incoming punches or kicks. "All those ballet and gymnastic classes did pay off." Bruce said.

"I told you." Eliza smirked. "Okay so your flexibility is amazing which is perfect when you're jumping off buildings and fighting enemies. Make sure to punch and kick harder though. You're relying more on your flexibility than your strength." Bruce said and Eliza nodded understanding. Eliza and Bruce then went to the punching bag. "You need to punch it harder." Bruce said and when Eliza did Bruce tumbled and landed a couple of feet away.

"Dad are you okay?" Eliza asked. "Yeah I'm alright. That was perfect keep doing that." Bruce said still laying on the ground. "Need help?" Eliza asked. "No thanks I'll stay down here it's much safer." Bruce replied and Eliza chuckled and continued her training. After Bruce finally got off the ground both Eliza and Bruce worked out together, after they had trained for 2 hours they decided it was enough. "You were good kiddo you did great." Bruce complimented.

"Thanks for believing in me dad." Eliza said. "You're welcome sweetie. You've got it in you. You were meant to be a hero. I just didn't want to admit it because I didn't want to loose you." Bruce explained. "You won't loose me dad with you by my side everything will be alright." Eliza said. "I have a surprise for you." Bruce said. "Really what is it?" Eliza asked. "It's something from Alfred and I." Bruce said. The two walked out of the training room and into the Batcave.

Next to the Batman suit was another suit, it was very different from Bruce's suit. Instead of the logo being black like Bruce's suit Eliza's suit was black also but it had silver on the belt, arm bracelets, and the high heel boots. (A/N: Pretend the yellow is silver) Eliza stood shocked and covered her mouth before hugging her dad. "Thank you dad I love it so much." Eliza said. "I'm glad you do pumpkin. Now on our next mission it will be Batman and Batwoman working together." Bruce said smiling at his daughter.

"I can't wait." Eliza said. "I also installed a communicator in one of the ears so I can track you and we can stay in touch when we're on missions." Bruce explained and Eliza nodded. The dynamic duo was back and better than ever.

Eliza's POV

I went back into my room I was about to sit down when I heard something outside. I got up and walked into the balcony sliding the two glass doors open as I walked out. "Hello?" I asked, nothing. I turned back but when I did I bumped into someone's chest making me gasp, they covered my mouth. "I promise I'm not going to do anything to you. I just want to talk. Please don't scream." He said. It was Superman.

I nodded and he pulled back his hand. "What brings you here?" I asked. "I came to apologize. I'm sorry. I heard that I almost killed you in the accident in Metropolis 2 years ago, I never meant to hurt you." Superman said. "Your apology is accepted Superman and don't worry nothing bad happened to me." I replied. "Good because after today I feel horrible. People think I placed the bomb in the Capitol Building." Superman said.

"Do you think I did it?" He continued. "No of course not it was probably Wallace the former Wayne Industrial employee you aren't capable of doing such a thing." I said. "I'm a monster all I do is bring chaos and fear to people." Superman said. "No, you are not a monster. If you hadn't been there when Zod tried to take over this planet we wouldn't be here. You are our hero Superman." I said while placing my hand on his chest where the "S" symbol was.

"This stands for something. You bring us hope in our darkest hours. You give us hope when we feel like giving up and you give us hope when we most need it. This stands for something and so do you." I said. "Thank you Eliza." Superman said smiling softly. "You're welcome, Clark." I said smirking. He looked up with confusion in his eyes. "How did you know it's me?" He asked. "Please Clark wearing glasses isn't exactly a good disguise.

Plus it took me like 1 second to figure it out. I don't exactly know how other people haven't figured it out yet." I said. Clark smiled while looking up at me. "Okay you got me, am I to assume my secret is safe with you?" He asked. "You assumed correctly." I said. "Take care." Superman said. "You too." I said smiling before he shot out into the sky and flew away. I went back into my room and locked the doors that led to the balcony.
