IV. Lex Luthor's Party

The day had finally arrived in which both Eliza and Bruce were going to attend Lex Luthor's Party. Eliza had finished getting dressed and her makeup was done. She left her room and as she walked down the steps, her dad was waiting for her at the bottom while her high heels clicked every time she took a step.

"You look beautiful sweetie." Bruce complimented.

"Thank you dad." Eliza smiled.

"Shall we?" Bruce asked extending his hand.

Eliza took his hand and linked her arm with her father as they walked out of the house and into the car. As a guy drove Eliza and Bruce to the party the two talked.

"Dad I thought you didn't like Lex." Eliza said.

"That's right I hate him." Bruce said.

"So then why are we attending his party?" Eliza asked.

"I need to take care of some business." Bruce said winking.

They couldn't talk about it at that moment though since the bodyguard was driving but Eliza knew exactly what her father was going to do and she nodded.

After a couple of minutes they finally arrived at the party. The bodyguard opened the door for Bruce and he stepped out, he smiled and waved at the cameras as the paparazzi took pictures of him. Bruce turned back to the car and held out his hand to Eliza as she got out of the car. Gasps filled the air as she stood next to her father with their arms linked. Everyone was breath taken by the beauty of Eliza and what she was wearing that night.

Eliza posed by herself and with her father on the red carpet. The paparazzi had gone crazy with Eliza they were all obsessed with her just like they were with her father. Once the red carpet pictures were taken the paparazzi kept snapping their cameras and their eyes followed both Bruce and Eliza as they walked inside the building. Eliza looked around recognizing many business owners, celebrities, and anyone you could possible think of.

"It gives me great pleasure to present, Mr. Lex Luthor." A man said.

The crowd turned and everyone started clapping as Lex walked up onto the stage. Eliza joined in too and also clapped, she however along with her dad weren't big fans of Lex Luthor. She thought he was cocky, arrogant and full of himself but she had to fake a smile for her dad's benefit of completing one of his missions. Once Lex was maybe half way through his speech Eliza felt a tap on her shoulder.

"I'll be right back." Bruce said to his daughter, she nodded and he walked away.

Once Lex's speech was over Eliza sighed in relief as she took a sip of her champagne. A reporter walked up to her, he was buff with curly hair and blue eyes.

"Hello I'm Clark Kent from the Daily Planet. Ms. Wayne would you mind if I asked you a couple of questions?" Clark asked.

"No go ahead, I don't mind." Eliza replied with a smile.

"Okay Ms. Wayne. You and your father Bruce Wayne run the most successful business in the entire nation. How do you feel about that?" Clark asked.

"I don't think about it as just the two of us. It's the team of hard workers and experts at our offices who help us make this a successful business, if it weren't for them Wayne Enterprises would have collapsed and we wouldn't be able to help Gotham or the world." Eliza responded with confidence as Clark jolted down on his notepad what she had said.

"Speaking of Gotham, there has been a bat vigilante that has been roaming the streets of Gotham for many years. He thinks he's above the law. Do you think what he does is good, or do you think that he's bringing fear to the people?" Clark asked.

"No, Batman is a good person who is just trying to save and help as many people as he can. He's always one step ahead of the police and we need more people like him. He's been the best thing to have ever happened to Gotham City." Eliza said.

"I most definitely hope the people aren't afraid of him. He has saved my life so many times and I'm really thankful for that." Eliza continued and Clark look stunned.

"How about Superman? He saves many people too. What's your opinion on him?" Clark asked.

"I don't have good history with him. I was in the Wayne Industrial building during the battle in Metropolis. I was almost killed when the building collapsed. If it wasn't for my father I wouldn't be here." Eliza replied in a soft voice as she rubbed her neck and looked down.

"I'm so sorry to hear that ma'am I'm sure he meant no harm." Clark said as he held Eliza's hand.

Eliza looked up and smiled. Clark had already been breath taken by her. Not just by her beauty but everything about her. Love at first sight really did exist.

"Excuse me who are you?" Bruce asked and he walked in between Clark and Eliza.

"Oh boy here we go again overprotective dad." Eliza thought.

"Clark Kent. Daily Planet." Clark replied as he extended his hand and Bruce shook it but still glared at Clark.

"Why were you speaking to my daughter?" Bruce asked.

"It's okay dad he was just asking me some questions." Eliza reassured him.

"If you need answers to your questions ask me I don't like reporters talking to my daughter." Bruce said sternly talking to Clark and Eliza rolled her eyes at her father's behavior.

"I was just asking her about the bat vigilante. What's your position on him?" Clark asked and Bruce smirked.

"Wait, Daily Planet. Do I own this one? Or is that the other one?" Bruce asked and Eliza just shook her head.

"People living in fear. He thinks he's above the law." Clark responded and Bruce chuckled.

"The Daily Planet, criticizing and saying that he's above the law is a little...hypocritical don't you think? Being that every time your hero saves a cat out of a tree you write a puff piece editorial about an alien who if he wanted to could burn the whole place down." Bruce replied with a smirk and Clark narrowed his eyes at Bruce.

"Not everyone agrees with your opinion Mr. Wayne." Clark said but Bruce didn't really care.

"Maybe it's just the Gotham City in me. We've just had a bad history with freaks dressed like clowns." Bruce fired back and both men stood still glaring at each other.

Eliza took a deep breath, her stomach turned as she knew who her father was talking about. She didn't want to be near the conversation any longer so she excused herself as she ran inside the ladies restroom.

The painful memories of her past came back flooding to her mind like a river that couldn't be contained. One of the memories happened to be when she was kidnapped by that evil clown. Can you guess who?

--

"Oh I'm not going to kill you." He said as he walked around Eliza in circles.

Her hands were tied together as well as her feet and she had tape on her mouth. Tears of fear escaped her eyes as she looked up at him. Small tattoos were on his face, but bigger ones were on his chest and abs, his hair was green and his teeth showed off the metal on them every time he smiled mischievously or laughed evilly.

"I'm just going to hurt you really really bad." He finished off.

"It's a shame. A beautiful girl like you will end up in nothing but a coffin. Batman cares about you it seems so for that he needs to pay the price. The person he cares about. DEAD. Let's see how he likes that." The Joker smirked sinister.

"You're not going to get away with this he'll come." Eliza reassured.

"By the time he does you'll be long gone beautiful." He said.

Each word he said taunted her. What followed after that was horrible she was weak, she had broken bones and she nearly lost half of her blood. When Eliza had finally felt like giving up, her father, the Batman had came to the rescue. She too had had a bad history with freaks dressed like clowns.

--

Once Eliza had calmed down she went back to try to enjoy the party. She looked around but then bumped into someone.

"Sorry I wasn't looking where I was go-" Eliza froze when she looked up to see Lex Luthor.

"Shit." She thought.

"Ms. Elizabeth Wayne it is so good to see you here." Lex smiled at her and she smiled back.

"Thanks Lex the same thing goes to you." Eliza replied.

"Correct me if I'm mistaken but was that you talking to Mr. Kent?" Lex asked.

"Yup you're not wrong that was me." Eliza said.

"Now I see he's with your father. We shall go over there." Lex said and Eliza no choice but to follow him.

"Boys! Bruce Wayne meets Clark Kent! Ha! I love it! I love bringing people together!" Lex said excitedly as he shook hands with Clark and Bruce.

After the three men finished talking Bruce and Eliza said their goodbyes to everyone and they went back home. Eliza had taken off her makeup, hanged up her dress and jumped into the steaming shower.

After she was done she sat on her bed in a comfortable shirt with some shorts. A knock on her door interrupted her thoughts.

"Come in." Eliza said her father walked in closing the door behind him as he sat next to her.

"Eliza I just wanted to say I'm sorry that I brought up-" Bruce tried to apologize but Eliza cut him off.

"I know dad I forgive you. Don't worry you were trying to make a point." Eliza said.

"I know how much that son of a bitch put you through I'm sorry pumpkin. I failed at protecting you, and at being your father when he kidnapped you." Bruce said, tears welled up in his eyes.

"No dad you didn't fail at being my father. You saved me. If you hadn't gotten there the moment you did I would have been dead. Thank you." Eliza said as she hugged her father.

Bruce relaxed as he hugged his daughter back.

"Now if we ever run into him again we'll kick his ass Batman and Wayne style." Eliza smirked and Bruce laughed.

"Of course we will." Bruce replied.

"Me and you kiddo?" Bruce asked.

"Me and you dad." Eliza smiled as they fist bumped.
