Chapter Ten

Hawks hadn't expected the dark-haired villain to stay the night however, he opted not to protest against it. How long would he be staying, Hawks didn't know.

Settling down on his bed, Hawks allowed his mattress to fully envelope his body. Slowly, the hero closed his eyes and released an audible breath as if to rid himself of whatever had been weighing down on him.

By now the alcohol had fully entered Hawks's system leaving the blond incapable of forming a complete thought. His words began to slur as every step he took was done with a sway.

A part of Hawks was, dare he say it, happy Dabi decided to stay the night. Another part, however, felt embarrassed about what he might do or say to the dark-haired villain.

Opening his eyes, Hawks turned on his side to face his favorite view in all of Musutafu. His vision may have been hazy however, he knew without a doubt that the view was beautiful.

Aside from the view, a question prodded the hero's mind: why was Dabi acting so kind? Perhaps kind was not the correct word but his point still stood.

Hawks was aware of how harsh the dark-haired villain could be so why did he ask so differently around the blond? The more he thought about it, Hawks couldn't recall a time Dabi was anything but... not harsh.

Using his forearms to support his weight, Hawks slowly sat up in his bed. A warm sensation slowly crept onto the blond's cheeks as his mind began to wonder if he was thinking too much about it.

There was only one way to find out.

Hawks decided to leave the comforting embrace of his bed and waltzed over to his bedroom door. His hand hovered over the door handle as he hesitated to open the door but, with the slightest hint of hope, he barged through.

There lay the dark-haired villain with one hand positioned behind his head while the other rested on the top of his abdomen. His long leather jacket was draped over the opposite arm of the couch leaving him in just his white shirt.

It may have been dark and Hawks may have been slightly intoxicated but, Hawks couldn't deny how attractive Dabi was, particularly with his coat off.

Shaking away the intrusive thoughts, the blond quietly made his way over to the back of the couch where the villain lay. To Hawks's surprise, Dabi was awake.

Noticing Hawks's arrival, Dabi turned his attention to the blond. Despite it being dark, Hawks was able to make out the villain's expression. His eyebrows were so very slightly furrowed as if he were worried.

"You good, pigeon?" Dabi questioned the blond.

Hawks, who was having trouble collecting his thoughts, was able to let out a strand of words. "You- are you- why?"

Appearing more concerned, the dark-haired villain sat up whilst keeping his gaze on the blond. "There's no way you're that drunk; speak properly, pigeon."

Another feeling arose inside of Hawks however, this time it was more of a pooling feeling within his stomach; this feeling was one he knew well.

"Sleep with me," Hawks blurted out. That was most definitely not what meant to say so why the heck did he just say that?

"Do what now?" the dark-haired villain asked stunned.

"No- no, that is not what I meant," the hero spoke embarrassed. He knew he would end up doing something he regretted; drinking alcohol never ended well for Hawks.

"Okay," Dabi paused, "then what did you mean?"

Trying to calm himself down from his mini heart attack, Hawks replied. "I didn't mean to say that," the hero admitted. "I wanted to-" Hawks said before taking a sharp breath in and continuing, "-ask why you've been abnormally kind to me."

A moment pass and so Hawks continued. "I know you're a lot harsher, or can be, than this so why?"

The dark-haired villain tore his eyes away from the blond and instead stared at the rips in his pants. Moving his head to look back at the hero, Dabi spoke. "Everybody finds different things interesting and you just so happen to be what I find most interesting."

Hawks could feel his face starting to heat up; he had just hoped that it was too dark for Dabi to notice.

"Unless," Dabi started up again, pressing his chest against the back of the couch to get closer to the blond, "you want me to be harsher," Dabi spoke in a low, seductive tone.

As much as Hawks hated to admit it, Dabi's words were affecting him more than he'd like. He knew he had to leave otherwise he really would do something he'd regret.

"I'm going to bed," Hawks said trying to sound annoyed at the villain's antics.

Without leaving room for the villain's response, Hawks quickly turned on his heel and headed for his bedroom. What stopped Hawks in his tracks were the words Dabi spoke next.

"I can still sleep in there with you."

For a moment the apartment stood still as if frozen in time. Hawks, who was unsure of what to do, licked his bottom lip before deciding to continue into his bedroom. However, instead of shutting the door behind him, he left it wide open inviting the dark-haired villain inside.
