Chapter Six

A/N: I apologize for not updating sooner. I had finished writing both chapters six and seven and was going to publish them however, in the process of transferring it, the entire chapter was deleted and I was unable to retrieve it. Afterward, I lost motivation to (re)write causing a delay in updating. I hope these chapters aren't too bland or boring. In the case that it is, I promise to make it up in future chapters.

...

Upon waking up, Hawks was met with another morning. Rays of light blinded the hero as soon as his eyes fluttered open. He really needed to put some curtains over the window wall however, it would only spoil the view he adored.

Going about his morning routine, the blond struggled to get into his hero outfit, groomed his hair, and doused himself in his favorite cologne.

Everything had been going fine until he walked out of his bedroom into the rest of the apartment. There he spotted the dark-haired villain he had forgotten stayed the night on his couch.

Evidently asleep, the villain was slumped over the couch, his head propped up on some of the for-show pillows. His expression was soft, unnerved from the racket the hero had been making. Hawks stared at the villain's features, taking note of how truly appealing he was.

A sudden stur from the sleeping villain snapped Hawks back to reality. The hero hurried to the kitchen, grabbing a snack before flying off to his agency.

...

Hawks was doing his usual hero work when he encountered a particular villain with dark hair and purple scars. To his surprise, he wasn't terrorizing any civilians or burning down any buildings, in fact, he was walking in a lone, dimly lit alleyway.

Without thinking, the hero altered course and swooped down toward the villain. Gently placing his feet on the broken stone pathway, Hawks signaled to the dark-haired villain standing in front of him, his back facing the hero. "You're just asking for a hero to find and corner you."

The dark-haired villain turned his head to the side, eyeing the blond through his lashes. "Seems like everything is going to plan then," Dabi replied, allowing a smirk to grow on his lips.

Hawks scoffed, regretting his decision to have flown down to the villain. "What're you doing?" the blond questioned curtly.

The dark-haired villain stopped in his tracks and turned to face the blond. "I'm admiring the scenery," Dabi let out, his smirk growing in size.

Dabi's growing smirk only annoyed Hawks. "We're in a fucking alleyway, Dabi."

The dark-haired villain sighed, unsatisfied at the hero's response. "Everybody finds different things interesting-"

"-and yours is an alleyway?" Hawks interrupted. It was apparent the dark-haired villain was up to something that he most likely wouldn't admit to.

"Are you criticizing me for enjoying the company of the broken stone pathway and cold bricks?" the villain questioned offended.

Hawks paused for a moment, contemplating whether or not the villain was serious. After a moment, the hero replied. "Yes."

Dabi's face morphed into a soft and sorrowful expression. Now Hawks really couldn't tell if he was being serious or not. "Ouch," the dark-haired villain voiced.

The hero felt his heart drop a bit at the villain's expression. Had he really been too curt? In an attempt to lighten the mood, Hawks spoke. "-but everybody finds different things interesting."

Dabi's soft and sorrowful expression didn't last long as he immediately forced out a laugh at the hero's words. His laughter died not long after and he brought a hand to his face. The dark-haired villain muttered a small curse before sliding his hand away from his face and through his hair. His eyes were half-lidded, allowing him to observe the blond through his lashes. "That must be why I enjoy you," Dabi admitted.
