Age 2

"Good morning Tao, why are you up?" Mama asked picking me up off the ground and onto her lap. I looked up at her before hugging her.
"I wanted to see what your doing," I responded.
"Yes but it's still early in the morning, you should still be asleep," she said, grabbing me and walking back to me and Touya's room. When I looked over at his bed all I could see was his crimson red hair peeking out through the covers. Mama placed me into the covers and tucked me in before leaving the room and turning the lights off. It was early. Why was Mama still awake?

That morning, I was woken by being shaken.
"Come on! We need to go!" Touya whined shaking my arm roughly to wake me.
"I'm coming," I responded yawning before we walked to where Mama and Father were sitting.
"Good morning little ones," she said smiling warmly at us. I wonder what they needed to talk to us about? Looking over at my brother he seemed to not know what was happening either.
"You're getting another sibling!" Mama announced cheerfully. Me and Touya stood there in confusion for a few seconds before I burst out into excitement. A new sibling?! So cool!

"I don't want another sibling!" Touya whined.
"Why not, I do?" I asked him curiously.
"Because I don't want another one!" He pouted.
"Well you're going to have to deal with it whether you like it or not!" I responded. For the next few days he was annoyed but he eventually got over it and joined me in being excited about it.

8 months later

Mama had left for the hospital a couple hours ago, so me and Touya were left with Grandmama.  She kept a close eye us as we were bouncing around with excitement for our younger sister to come into our lives. After a few hours of waiting, Grandmama got a text on her phone. She grabbed me and Touya and put us in the car, explaining that our younger sister, Fuyumi, had been born.

It took around an hour to get there with the mid-day traffic of Tokyo city. When we got there, me and Touya went to the room where she was. Mama was laying in the hospital bed with a small baby in her arms, Fuyumi. I walked over to the white haired girl. Mama patted the bed, signaling for me to sit down next to her, Touya followed close behind. She placed Fuyumi closer to where we were sat. I placed my hand on her head. That day I swore to protect the younger girl.

That evening we went back to the house with Mama and Fuyumi as they were both healthy enough to leave the hospital. Me and Touya originally refused to leave the young girl but Mama eventually managed to get us to go back to our own room. The next day we refused to leave the room all day.
