Chapter 31

Don't hate me

***

POV: Unknown

Humans are not immortal.

I think that's why we come up with fairytales and fantasies.

I will never be able to understand why people do the things they do. It's a strange world, and the people in it, are even stranger.

The second we're born, we begin to die. Life gives us a timeline that's always changing. People expect to live forever when they're young, they do crazy things. People jump from far heights, to experience the exhilaration of near-death. That feeling in your gut, gives the rush that you crave like an addiction.

You never expect to die young.

You expect to be old, and crippled. In a hospital, with family around you, listening to that terrifying beep of a hospital machine.

You never expect someone you love to die in a car crash, or some weird freak accident.

I stopped believing in God long ago. It's a monstrous thing, to believe that when you die, there is some beautiful place in the heavens waiting for you. A place to be with your lost ones, a place to live out eternity in peace and beauty.

When you die, you die. There is no greater place.

It's just some horrible nothingness, that covers you like the dark consumes the light. It's cold, empty, lonely, dark and numb. It's a black hole that eats away at you, with every passing second.

Your death made me realize that every second we spent together, I missed an opportunity to tell you how much I loved you.

Never wait, until it's too late to tell someone how much they meant to you, and how much you loved them. Because when they're gone, no matter how hard you cry, no matter how loud you scream...they wont hear you anymore.

I'll never know why he did it.

It should have been me.
