Chapter 26

Fun fact...

Having sexual relations with a Porcupine is illegal in Florida.

Not sure why that's a fun fact, but there ya go

Calla's POV:

This fucking dress is pissing me off. I feel like I just took a personality test, and my result was: Bipolar Cunt.

I wrung out my wet hair, and slipped the light blue dress over my shoulders. It's tight fit clung to my damp body, like a piece of fucking scotch tape.

I grabbed some of Sinisters cologne and sprayed it over myself. Hehe, now I smell like my husband.

There was a knock at the door. It's probably Sinister coming to drag me downstairs to have dinner with his painfully good looking, and awkward family.

"One second, whore!" I called out, brushing my lashes with mascara.

There was another knock.

"Oh.my.god. You dildo, I'll be right there. I'm just trying to look like I didn't just go swimming in a pond of fucking UGLY !!!"

I expected at least a chuckle, but all he did was knock again.

I threw my head back, groaning, before I stopped towards the door, and pulled it open.

"Just because you're my hu-"

I froze.

That wasn't my husband. His tall frame took up the entire door, his tan skin was dark in the doorway. His dark hair was neatly combed and slicked back. His murderous-blue eyes shimmered like daggers as he stared at me like a lion about to pounce.

I opened and closed my mouth, searching for words. Searching for something to scream. But my thoughts had grabbed all of my words and burned them into ash. So all I could do was stare, my mouth wide open, without words or screams.

"Calla, it's great to see you again." His voice was rough like sandpaper, the evil glint in his eyes made me take a step back.

My legs quivered, skin went cold and damp in fear.

"What...what are you doing here?" I found my voice, and I tried to sound confident and strong. But it came out as a scared whisper, like a little girl hiding under her sheets, cowering from the monster in her dreams.

But this monster was real. And he stood so close, that I could smell the burning aftershave that made my eyes water.

"Well this is my house, isn't it?" He smiled, but his eyes were cold.

I tried to move, but my legs were frozen like ice. My heart slammed against my chest like a drum, and I couldn't move. I felt paralyzed.

"Come with me, we don't want to be late for dinner, now do we?" He extended a tan hand, his hands were so big, that I was positive he could break my neck with a single movement.

I made a whimper, my throat tightening up in absolute fear and terror.

He was about to take a step towards me, when I heard Sinister.

"Get the fuck away from her!" He yelled, his footsteps getting louder, like thunder, as he flew into my room, and shoved Luka away from me.

Sinisters iced eyes were wide, his chest rising and falling with terror-stricken anxiety. He stood in front of me, blocking me from Luka.

Sounds of people flooded into the room, and suddenly Afanas stormed into the room, followed by two men I had never met.

I watched the glint of guns flash through my vision, and every man except for Luka was holding a gun, the weapons all pointing at the unwanted guest.

Luka smiled slowly, he looked pleased. His eyebrows raising as he watched the scene unfold.

"What are you doing here?" Sinister spat, his arms holding me in a protective grip.

"Well" Luka chuckled "it's a family reunion, and last time I checked, I'm your brother."

Sinisters grip tightened.

"You're not my fucking brother." He snarled.

Luka laughed once more, his eyes glittered like an animal as he watched Sinister hold me.

"Brother...." he sighed "you got everything in life. You got the Mafia, you got the power, the money, and the girl. Am I not allowed something as simple as a family reunion?"

Sinister scoffed, his grip on his gun tightened, turning his knuckles white.

"You're even more fucking delusional than I thought, if you could ever think that you're welcome here." Sinister growled.

Luka simply just grinned. Afanas pulled the trigger back on his gun, his eyes were black with fury.

"I was invited, silly boy." Luka said plainly, tearing his eyes away from me to look at all of the men in the room.

"Who the fuck would invite you?" The man to Sinisters left said, his bleach blonde hair covered his eyes, and he took another step towards Luka, grazing Luka's cheek with the barrel of the pistol.

"I did." Another voice said. I adverted my eyes to watch as Sinisters father wheeled into the room. His face was calm, his grey hair was neat, his dark eyes were cool and calculated.

"What the fuck are you talking about?" Sinister asked, his eyes were angry and filled with hatred.

"I think it's about time that we let bygones be bygones. It's been many years since Luka and I had our altercation." His voice was calm, there wasn't of drop of anger or distaste in his eyes as he stared at his son. The son who shot him. The son who paralyzed him from the waist down.

You could sense the tension in the room, it filled my lungs like smoke as I held onto Sinister. I watched in agony, as Luka smiled at his fathers words. His dark blue eyes trained on me, a small smirk plastered onto his conniving face.

I buried myself into Sinisters arms, feeling like throwing up. His body was rigid as he processed his fathers words.

"Do you know what he has done? To you even fucking comprehend what he did to you? To my fucking wife?" Sinisters voice was shaking and quivering with rage.

His father looked at him, his face plain, not a trace of remorse of apprehension could be found.

"We're bad people, Sinister. All of us. Do not pretend as though you are any better."

And with that, Sinisters father wheeled out of the room, Luka trailing close behind. But not before Luka stopped at the door, his eyes finding mine, a small smirk toyed at the edge of his lips as he winked.

"We're fucking leaving." Sinister said as he paced the room.

"Dude, what do you mean? Your asshole brother isn't going to try anything, not while we're all here." The blonde man said, his name was Koda, and I could tell his muscles were much larger than his intellectual ability.

"You don't know him like I do." Sinister muttered, throwing my clothes into a suitcase.

There were 5 of us in Sinisters room. Myself, Sinister, Afanas, Koda and Sinisters uncle Max.

Afanas pulled out a cigarette, inhaling the smoke like his life depended on it. He had been silent this entire time.

"What about your mom? Your Sister? You haven't seen them in years. Don't let you shit head of a brother get in the way of that." Koda tried again, sitting next to me on the  bed.

He leaned into me, "I'm Koda, by the way." He flashed me a dazzling smile.

"I don't care." I said, not even bothering to give him the time of day. I had too many thoughts running through my mind to worry about making a good impression on Sinisters family members.

"You look a little young. Too pretty to be married to my douche bag cousin." Koda tried again.

I opened my mouth to tell him that he looked like the bottom of my foot, but Sinister beat me to it.

"Koda, shut the fuck up. Don't fucking talk to her. If you say one more word, I'll fucking kill you I swear to God." Sinisters iced eyes were dead serious. His posture was rigid as he continued to pace.

"Sinister, if I may interject?" Max finally spoke, his clam voice sounded strange in a room full of moody, deranged, egotistical mobsters.

Sinister motioned impatiently for him to continue.

"Your brother is up to something, that much is perfectly clear. I think it's the most rational decision to continue to stay here. Whatever he's planning, if you decide to leave, will surely follow you wherever you go. He's not the type to give up."

Sinister processed his words, eating them up like it was his last meal.

He ran his fingers through his hair, "fuck. You're right. But I want all of you to be on your guard, this isn't a safe place, and we don't know what he's planning. Calla is your priority, I'm getting the sense that whatever he has planned, has to do with her."

Koda scoffed, "there's no way in hel-"

Sinister cut him off.

"I am your superior, I own every single one of you. If you decide that protecting my wife isn't important to you. Then you can consider yourself dead. Do I make myself perfectly clear?"

No one said a word.

Sinister nodded, "Good. Now go downstairs and arm yourselves. I have a feeling that this family dinner won't be forgiving."
