Chapter 15

Calla's POV:

"Who the fuck are you?" I glared at a woman who looked to be in her mid twenties.

She was dressed in a fucking maids outfit. How clichè can Luka be? She had short red chopped hair, and a round baby face.

She stared at me, "I'm here to help you get ready for tonight."

I gave her a thumbs up, "that's great red riding hood, but I'm perfectly capable of dressing myself."

"I was instructed by Luka to aid you in getting read."

"Luka has AIDS?"

She frowned, "What? no."

"Luka needs a BandAid?"

She huffed out a breath, clearly annoyed.

"No."

"Then I am completely confused, red."

She ran a frustrated hand through her hair and shook her head, "Okay, look. Luka sent me here to help you get ready. You know, do your make up, do your hair, get you dressed. He doesn't need BandAids, and he doesn't have any sexually transmitted diseases, got it?"

I shrugged, "You should have just said all that when you walked into the room, then there wouldn't be this much confusion."

She let out a frustrated noise as she picked up a large duffle bag and a gown bag from outside the door.

Heh. I enjoy fucking with people.

I watched her begin to set out boxes and jars of makeup and hair product, her maids costume made me want to eat glass.

I came to the painful decision to just let Red do her job, after all, she wasn't the person I was angry at.

Red was actually quite the perfectionist, she lined my eyes with black liner, fake lashes, and glittery  eye shadow.

She painted my lips a dark nude color, and contoured my face to fuckin perfection. She left my hair in it's natural long, ink black waves

After painting my face, Red carried on, pulling a gorgeous dress from the gown bag.

She helped me into it, and I couldn't help but gape at the way it hugged my body like a glove. It was a glittery gold dress, that was tight around my body, and flowed out in a small train like a pool of melted gold.

I hated my situation, and the people I was surrounded by. But this dress was flawless.

I thought of Sinister, and what his reaction would be like if he saw me now. I thought of the way his icy eyes would sparkle, and he'd get that dark mischievous smirk that would plaster to his beautiful face.

It's incredible how alone someones absence can make you feel. I could be in a room surrounded by friends and family, but without Sinister...I felt like I was alone, stranded in the middle of the ocean.

I missed him so much it hurt me with such force, like a knife to my heart. It almost felt as though he had died, but the reality was that he still walked the Earth, and I never got to hear a goodbye.

Sometimes I wish that I had a second chance to meet him for the first time, in a different life, where we were two normal people looking for love, with nothing to stop us from being together.

I felt tears burn my eyes, and I sniffed.

"Don't cry your makeup off." Red huffed, pressing a tissue lightly to the corner of my eyes.

"Fuck off." I muttered.

There was a knock on the door, and I felt all sadness float away, and become replaced with immense dread.

Red helped me slip into a pair of nude heels, and led me towards an open door where Luka stood. He wore a crisp looking suit, his hair was gelled slickly back, his dark blue eyes evaluated me.

"you look nice."

I flicked him off.

Sinister's POV:

"Alexis, it doesn't take any normal human six fucking hours to get ready." I growled outside her door.

I didn't want to take her. But I had known her for years, she was trustworthy, and UOC ball required dates.

"Sinny" She wined from the other side of the door "trust me, the way I look...it'll be worth it."

doubt it.

"If you keep me waiting one more minute, I'm taking Afanas as my date."

The door flew open, and I stood there completley unimpressed.

Her blonde hair was piled into a slick bun, her eyes were hooded with thick black eyeliner, her body was crammed inside a dark purple gown that cost me $30,000.

It was not worth it, oncesoever.

"I know, I look good." She giggled as she twirled.

"I never actually said that." I muttered, walking past her.

We were staying in a hotel that was close to the UOC ball location, I made my way into the elevator, the annoying blonde trailing close to me.

"Sinny, you know what the best part of this dress it?"

"It's returnable?"

She rolled her eyes, "No, silly. It's easy to take off."

She winked sickly at me, and pressed her body close to me.

I shrugged her off of me, "Let's get something straight, you pathetic piece of shit. I'm married, to a girl I love. This" I motioned between us

"is nothing. I have zero feelings for you. The only reason you are here with me is because I require a date, and no other whores were available. And if you call me Sinny one more time, I will put a bullet through your skull.Got it?"

She nodded slowly, her eyes were wide.

The elevator doors slid open and all I heard was:

"I will fucking shove a plant down your throat you cocksucking slut!!!"

I watched as a midley amused Afanas glared at his date.

Her name was Rachel. She was Calla's friend, the one who I was supposed to kill after Calla broke Omerta, but couldn't bring myself to do it.

She reminded me too much of my little Flower.

"I look like Fiona from Shrek AFTER she became an Ogre!!" She shrieked, pulling at the emerald green dress she was wearing.

I watched with a small smirk as Afanas ran a hand through his slick hair. His face was scrunched into complete confusion, and stress.

"You look, uh, cute?" Afanas choked out, and very openly, pulled a blunt from his pocket.

Rachel closed her eyes, the sides of her mouth twitching in agitation.

"Did you just say...cute?" Her green eyes flashed up to Afanas, slicing through him like daggers.

I had to muffle my laughs with a cough.

"Yes, I think so?" He adverted his eyes.

"I will end your life." She growled.

I didn't know her yet, but she already reminded me of Calla. Her fiery temper brought back painful memories.

"Alright." I muttered, stepping between them "enough  arguing."

Afanas lowered his head, but Rachel's eyes stared right up at mine.

Normally, I'd punch anyone who dared look at me with such defiance, but this was a special situation.

"Are you Sinister?" Rachel asked, her eyes seizing me up from head to toe.

I straightened my suit jacket, "I am."

What came next, was definitely expected.

The bitch pulled her fist back, ready to punch me square in the jaw. Instead, I caught her fist centimeters from my face, and pushed it away from me.

"There will be none of that, if there is, you will regret it." I said darkly.

Instead of trying to punch me again like I thought she would, she stepped back, her green eyes going back to their evaluation.

"Well" she huffed "you're certainly the hottest asshole I've ever met."

"Second hottest." Afanas interrupted, sparking his joint, paying no heed to the fact that we were in a public, non-smoking hotel.

"Sinn— um, Sinister" Alexis corrected herself, her scratchy voice made me want to jump into a paper shredder "shouldn't we be going?"

Rachel's attention now settled on Alexis, who's boobs were practically spilling out of her purple ball gown.

"Who the fuck is this?" she growled, folding her muscular arms across her emerald green dress. Her attention remained on Alexis.

I opened my mouth to respond, when a whore beat me to it.

"I'm Alexis, I'm Sinters date." She smirked like a total bitch.

Rachel then glared at me, her pale skin flushing.

"Are you fucking kidding me? Your ex girlfriend gets kidnapped after you leave her, and you're taking a fucking slut as your date?!" She shrieked.

I winced at her words. Calla never told anyone that we're married

"Wait" Alexis's brows furrowed "you mean wife, right? Sin, did you and that prostitute get divorced?"

I grabbed the joint from Afanas.

"Wait" Rachel spun towards me, so fast that her braided hair flew across her face, "you're MARRIED?!"

I took a big ass hint from the joint, wishing that they would both shut the fuck up.

Callas POV:

"Watch your paws, Willy Wonka." I growled as his hand warmed my very low back.

Luka dark blue eyes darkened and his face flushed, his hand moving up a few inches, making my spine tingle.

We walked towards a colossal hotel, made entirely of glass, armed men surrounded every square inch of the vicinity. Powerful looking men swarmed together, beautiful women hung on their arms.

It was a cool night, and I couldn't help but shiver, from the temperature, and from my situation.

"Don't be scared, Calla." Luka's dark voice rumbled.

I glanced up at a sign near the front entrance:

"All personal bodyguards must remain outside."

Oh great.

We made our way inside, apparently Luka wasn't as big of a deal as Sinister. The last ball I went to, people couldn't stop staring at Sinister and talking to him, now, people seemed to be minding their business.

I glanced shakily at the clutter of silver bracelets that hid my Mafia insignia, the black ink made me crave my home. It made me crave Sinister.

Clusters of the most powerful people on earth poured into the massive hotel, diamond chandeliers and ice sculptures surrounded the room in a blanket of gaudy wealth.

The floor was made of glass, beneath the glass flooring was a pool of water. The sounds of a waterfall made my eyes go wide at the 50-foot waterfall in the lobby.

Is this fucking Trump Towers?

My eyes followed the glint of pistols shoved in the suit jackets of all the men. Outlines of guns and knifes made my knees shake.

A large, formal looking band was set up on a stage in the massive room, the music they played reminded me of the first time Sinister and I danced together.

I remember that sparkle in his eyes. At the time, I never would have guessed that I was dancing with my future husband. It was in that moment, almost a year ago, that I felt my heart flutter for him. It was in that moment that I knew...Sinister Velkov wasn't a monster, but he was a beautiful angel that was dragged down into hell.

Now...I was here, with my husbands brother, in a room with hundreds of the most dangerous people on Earth.

"Champagne?" The voice of a waiter tore me out of my thoughts.

I nodded grimly, grasping the crystal glass in my hands.

I felt the warmth of a hand on my back and glanced to see Luka standing close to my side.

"Don't look so tense, Calla. Look like you belong here."

I don't.

I nodded slowly, sipping slowly at my drink.

I looked around the room, watching in awe as men tattooed with Mafia insignias laughed and chatted casually. Beautiful women at their sides in expensive gowns.

Suddenly, a purple dress caught my eye, and I frowned at the woman wearing it.

Alexis. That whore I caught fucking Sinister so long ago.

I felt my body tense as I glanced at Luka who was making conversation nearby.

I slipped away from him as I approached the whore.

"Hey Lexi." I said casually.

Her dark eyes went wide as she took a step back, her lips rubbing together as she processed my presence.

"Calla?" Her mouth flew open "what're you doing here?"

"Party crashing, obviously." I said, trying my hardest not to freak out.

She took a small step towards me, "I thought you were kidnapped by the American mob..."

I shrugged, "well you know, I was. And then I was sold off to be an escort like a common whore...well, you know what that feels like."

"Does Sinister know you're here?"

My body went cold at the mention of his name, "I-Is he here?"

She opened her mouth to answer, when a hand clapped my back.

"Calla, I see you're making friends." Luka said gruffly, eyeing Alexis cautiously.

Alexis opened and closed her mouth, at a complete loss for words.

"Hello Luka, it's nice to see you after so long." She smiled, but it didn't quite meet her eyes.

"Likewise, who is your date for tonight?"

Her eyes darted to mine, "your infamous brother, of course. You know we have a history."

Sinister. He's here.

My heart began to race, beads of sweat formed at my palms as my eyes flashed around the room.

Luka tensed at her words his hand went hard at the small of my back.

"I assumed he would be here tonight." He said darkly, his eyes glancing around the crowded room.

I watched Luka as he scanned the room, and suddenly his hand went cold, and I knew he found what he was looking for. I followed his gaze, and I felt as though my world went completely dark.

Sinister.

He stood a few feet away, his eyes had already found us. His brother was staring at him, but he was staring at me.

He looked as beautiful as the first day I had met him. His ink black hair was combed and slick, he wore a tux that fit to perfection, his familiar tattoos snaking around his arms and neck. His icy eyes were trained on me, he looked like he has seen a ghost.

I felt my legs weaken, and it took everything inside of me not to cry and run into his arms. My jaw trembled and my legs shook with every memory and emotion I have ever felt.

Alexis glanced at me before turning to Sinister

"Sin, why don't you come and say hello to your brother and his beautiful date."

His body went rigid at the word date, as he walked carefully towards us.

"Brother..." Luka said slowly as he extended his hand.

Sinister looked apprehensive, and I recognized that look in his eyes.

Hate.

His eyes trained on me, and I would give anything in the world just to kiss him there.

Sinister extended an arm, shaking his brothers hand slowly.

"It's been many years, brother." Luka said carefully, his other hand still on the small of my back.

Sinisters eyes followed Luka's hand, and I watched as the ice in his eyes turn dark.

Sinister opened his mouth to say something when an all too familiar voice interrupted.

"Dude there are so many fucking hot chicks he—

Afanas stopped mid sentence as he stared at me

He then looked to Luka, and our close proximity to each other. The gears began shifting in his head, and after a long while he straightened out his jacket.

"Luka, you dick. How are you?" He smiled, but his eyes kept flickering to me.

Luka laughed darkly, but his smile didn't reach his eyes.

"Hello, Afanas. It's been awhile. Still kissing my brothers ass I see..."

Afanas cocked his head to the side, "you're quite right, Luka. But usually I suck his dick. You should try it sometime, don't worry, it wouldn't be incest considering you're barley considered his brother, you condescending cunt."

Luka's eyes went cold at his comment.

"So" Afanas said slowly, his eyes staring into me "who is this beautiful girl you've brought as your date?"

"This is Calla. Calla, this is my brother Sinister, and his bitch, Afanas." He rudely introduced me.

I reached out my hand to Afanas, "pleasure to meet you, sir."

He gripped my hand, shaking it slowly, his dark animal eyes were filled with absolute confusion.

I turned to Sinister, and raised my eyes to him.

I immediately regretted it. The second my eyes met him, I felt my entire world crashing down on me. He looked at me with so much feeling and longing, I felt as though I could die right there.

"It's a pleasure to meet you...Sinister."

He grasped my hand in his, I felt the warmth of his body, and the electricity flowing between us. He gave my hand a right, reassuring squeeze, almost to tell me that everything was going to be alright.

He held my hand in his for what felt like years.

I thought I'd never see his beautiful, perfect face again. I thought that he had forgotten about me, but one look into those pale, iced eyes, and I knew...he had never stopped thinking about me.

Afanas cleared his throat awkwardly and Sinister let my hand go.

"Luka" Sinister said slowly "would you mind if I danced with your date?"

Luka shifted uncomfortably, "I suppose."

His words were like music to my ears.

Sinister held a hand out for me, and I didn't waste a second, as I grasped his hand, and let my long lost love lead me into a sea of complete uncertainty and beauty.

I had my beautiful Russian mobster back in my arms, and I had absolutely no intention of ever letting go of his hand.
