Tsukishima Kei

"The Silent Gestures"

---------------

You reluctantly approached your boyfriend, of whom sat on the side-benches, tending to the wound inflicted by Ushiwaka. "Kei, is your hand okay?" Softly, you asked him, (e/c) pooling with worry.

"Tch, I said I was fine, didn't I?" The megane shoots back before returning to his injury. "Don't you have other obligations to concern yourself with?" He mumbles, causing you to sigh.

He'd been like this ever since this morning, even before the match with Shiratorizawa, Tsukishima appeared as if something had been irking him. He was acting especially cold towards you, and that gave you an impression hinting that it was probably something you did.

Or forgot to do...

With one last inspection, you left the spot beside Tsukishima to go assist Kiyoko and Yachi with distributing the water bottles and whatnot. Your last two bottles being given off to the duo, Hinata and Kageyama.

"(y/n)-Chan, we did it!" The orange-haired middle-blocker beamed, getting a bit emotional with animated tears running down the corners of his eyes. You expected the setter to scold Hinata but uncharacteristically enough, Kageyama got a little teary-eyed too.

Being the gentle soul you were, extended your arms to invite the duo into your embrace, a kind smile glued onto your features. Not even in the blink of an eye, Hinata accepted your notion and hugged you-- Kageyama hesitantly following suit.

You barely talked, when you did, it was only-ever with Tsukishima and otherwise when necessary. You always thought that gestures like this were a better method of expressing your emotions. It wasn't that you were cold, it was just because you chose to be more direct.

A giggle escaped your lips and you leaned into the duo's touch, until you felt an eerie presence behind you.

Hinata flinched, seeming to sense it too. Looking over your shoulder, the shorter male froze in fear. "W-W-What? You wanna f-fight??" Hinata stammers, trying to put on a brave face but failing miserably as he visibly became pale.

"Tch."

You were suddenly tugged out of the group hug and dragged over to your previous location when you were examining your blond-haired boyfriend, coincidentally, he was the one dragging you said location as well.

"Sit down." Demanded the megane. Confused, you obliged and sat down next to the fuming tower of salt.

It took a couple minutes of utter silence for Tsukishima to muster enough courage to break the ice between you two.

"Don't go offering your hugs to peasants. I don't want their filth tainting you." Tsukishima felt his cheeks warming up as he spoke. "Kei... Your royalty's showing." You bluffed, feeling a bit of tension leave your body, as you expected to be in hotter water.

"Shut up. Don't pretend like you're off the hook that easily." Spoke too soon.

You raised a brow at the male then shook your head. Tsukishima shot you a look stating 'are you serious?', to which you nodded your head at.

Tsukishima found himself feeling flustered all of a sudden, so you did forget.

He sighs, "You said you were going to wear that dino-shirt today, to... C-Cheer me on..." He clears his throat, covering up his stutter though you noticed.

You blinked a few times, in order to process his confession before you gasped. "That's right!" You squeaked out before clasping your hands together. "I'm sorry..." You muttered, leaning your head against your hands and closing your eyes.

Another period of serenity before you felt his palm rest against your bed of (h/c) hair.

"It's fine, Idiot. I know you're forgetful, besides it'd be embarrassing if you did... I wouldn't be able to focus..." Tsukishima mumbled the last part but you caught on.

Smiling, you hopped up to hug him, catching him off-guard as your (h/c) locks tickled the side of the middle-blocker's face. Tsukishima managed to regain his balance before the two of you could fall over to the other side of the bench.

He opted to scold you but was too touched by your envelopment to actually do anything. "Warn me next time." Tsukishima says, bring his arms around you, settling into your warmth.

The salty, first-year did not wish to admit it, but it was the silent gestures like this, that he fell for you. He wondered why, there never really seemed to be any meaning behind such actions, and yet he found himself craving for your attention and hugs, ever since the moment you first comforted him for being so dim during the training camp in Tokyo.

Technically it was your fault for getting him to obsess over them.

"I love you..." He muttered against the crook of your neck, tickling you a little. With a giggle, you softly kissed your blond-haired middle-blocker as response. It brought a smile to Tsukishima's face, thankfully you couldn't see the affect you had on him.

You felt his hold on you tighten, to an extent where you were practically straddling him upon the bench. When you started to feel flustered you tried pulling away but Tsukishima kept you in place.

Until you were required to head out.
