Miya Atsumu

"Rest"

---------------

Recently, these past few weeks, you've been feeling as if the whole world was against you, for no particular reason. This made you severely down in the dumps, so much so that you were lapsing in and out of consciousness, often trapped in your toxic state of mind.

Despite how much you yearned for someone to hold your hand and walk you through your suffering, you saw it was best to just isolate yourself until the feeling of dread had gone.

This wasn't anything new after all. The feeling of overwhelming sadness due to reasons that are beyond your comprehension, were nothing out of the blue. Whenever you were feeling like this, you kept to your own devices and preferred not to be a liability for anyone else.

Until Miya Atsumu, your boyfriend, showed up-- more like barged, into your classroom one day, clearly displeased by the situation.

Of course you failed to realize that you had been ignoring Atsumu. The moment you did, his infuriated presence was the source of your enlightenment. Taking his stand right before your seated form, he gazed down to take in your disheveled appearance.

Long story short, you looked awful.

Your (h/l), (h/c), tufts of hair were unkempt, you neglected your habit of ALWAYS throwing it up into a high-ponytail. There were ghastly bags underneath your eyes, giving off the hint of insomnia. Lastly, your face was hollow-- no expression whatsoever, startling the male, as he often saw you with an optimistic grin stretched across your face.

It always brightened up his day whenever he was pissed off at fangirls for disrupting the melody of his volleyball endeavors.

Seething, the artificially blond-haired setter slammed his hands atop your desk, snapping you out of your reverie.

With a flinch, you began to stutter, "A-Atsumu? W-What's the matter?"

"Right back at ya'. What's the matter with you, Princess?" Said male scoffed, bitterly amused that you'd rather tend to his well-being but not yours.

A tired sigh escaped your lips, you clearly had no energy nor stamina to argue, much less shoot any comebacks, so you only stayed silent. Adding onto Atsumu's bubbling worry.

Without another word, he picked you up, from your seat-- straight into his muscular arms, dismissing the presence of your classmates as he made his way through their designated groups and out into the corridors.

"Where are we going...?" You murmured, just barely above whisper.

"You need to rest." Came Atsumu's blunt response.

You stayed silent, knowing full-well where he was taking you, snuggling you head against the clothed surface of his chest, taking in his comforting scent. For a moment, his sweet, not-so-powerful body spray, made you forget about your past troubles.

Though it was dreadfully short-lived.

A pack of girls, clearly a part of the Miya Twins' fan-club, began to approach you-- mainly your boyfriend. You heard a curse leave Atsumu's lips, causing you to chuckle lightly, as his expression toned stony.

Usually, the setter was nice, but with you in his arms and in a condition that he could barely level as fine no less, there was no doubt that he'd have to deal with them harshly this time.

"Miya-San! You're so cool!" A girl fawned.

Another came from the other side of your route. "Miya-San! My friend thinks you're cute! I do too!" Girls were nudging one another, each trying to take hold Atsumu's attention.

"Miya-San!!!" This.

"Miya-Senpai!!" That.

You cringed, feeling a pang of pain ringing throughout your head at the noise. Atsumu took note of this and suddenly, a dark aura surrounded him as he shot a deathly look towards the whining pests-- fangirls.

"Shut up... Your nauseating squealing's gonna ruin my GIRLFRIEND's hearing, get out of my sight." He spat, disgust and irritation clear in his expression.

Terrified of his change of mood, the fangirls scattered like ants scurrying through the hallways, getting as much distance from you guys as possible.

"Damn pigs." Atsumu cursed, shaking his head as he continued to walk.

You sighed, frowning at yourself. You felt disappointed in yourself, perhaps if you had the proper mentality, Atsumu didn't have to deem himself responsible for your self-induced sorrow. If only you had known how to handle it.

"H-Hey, why the hell are you crying? Did those pigs actually hurt your eardrums?" Atsumu questions, adjusting his hold on you in the process.

He had noticed the waterworks before you, but you definitely couldn't bring yourself to stop at that point. You broke down within the embrace of your dear boyfriend, just as he reached the music building, where he quickly jogged into an abandoned music room.

Your official spot, where the two of you had met.

"I-I'm sorry Atsumu..." You sobbed, you were still in his arms, even as the male took a seat on the wooden flooring, leaning against the wall of the music room. You sat comfortably on his lap, legs dangling sideways from his.

Atsumu sighed and gave you his signature smile, only to you, was it ever genuine and from his heart. "Don't even." He warned, one of his hands held you head against his chest whilst the other traced along the creamy skin of your legs.

"B-But you know... If I wasn't so emotionally unstable, we'd be having a proper lunch right now." You sniffled, averting your gaze in shame.

"We all have our off-days, you know I hate people who pretend to be what they really aren't." Atsumu mentions, planting a kiss on your forehead then your cheek. "Besides, it's not as if this isn't a good way to spend lunch either." He shrugs.

You looked back up, into Atsumu's eyes, still guilty. "I should know better than to bother you." Deprecation lacing your words as your frown deepened. Atsumu chuckled, "You don't bother me at all, but your lack of sleep does."

Not slower than in a blink of an eye, Atsumu had you beneath him as he hovered over you. "You'll need energy to deal with my needs after all." He cooed playfully, earning a light smack on the head from you.

"You perv." A short laugh emitted from your lips.

The male pretended to be fazed though by your bluff attack and collapsed onto your now-squished form. Atsumu rested his chin against the area beneath your chest, snaking his arms underneath your waist causing you to blush.

"I love you (y/n)." The setter stared at you confidently, whilst the blush across your cheeks began to deepen. "What no response?" Atsumu pouts before you scoffed out an 'I love you' back, followed by a comfortable period of silence.

"I'm here to take away your problem, Princess. So please, just rest. If not for you then for me." He lazily grinned, eyes closed. You were hesitant at first before you breathed in defeat, already feeling drowsy from the warmth that radiated off of your boyfriend.

"Alright." You gave his blond hair a small tug, to which the male delightfully hummed, before giving into your slumber. Enjoying Atsumu's presence right on top of you, in an appropriate and safe manner.

= Extended Ending =

"You asshole! You didn't wake me up!" You screamed into your phone, much to the male on the other side's dismay. He temporarily withdrew the phone from the shell of his ear when you began ranting about missing school for the rest of the day due to his negligence.

"But you looked so cute! I didn't want to wake you-- oh! I have a picture if you want to see for yourself!"

The bastard even left you in the music room while he made his way to practice, despite knowing you couldn't wake easily and would most probably an hour or so after he departed.

Atsumu laughed, "I was going to pick you up regardless though." He tried reasoning but a string of profanity directed towards him escaped your lips.

"Now, now, we can deal with this later. I have practice." He teased as you went full-on ballistic. "YAH! DON'T YOU DARE ACT LIKE THIS IS FINE! THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A BIG--"

*Beep... Beep*

"HE FUCKING HUNG UP!"

Let's just say, for the rest of the week, Atsumu had to deal with a new persona. All the while trying to keep his hands to himself.
