Hinata Shōyō

"I'm a savage"

---------------

You did not like this.

Not one bit of you liked this.

How could you? When the team's precious little cinnamon roll basically grew into this insensitive beast overnight.

Your eyes brimmed with distaste, as you watched Hinata shove aside Karasuno's rightful ace, who seemed as shaken up at the orange-haired middle-blocker's actions as everyone else was, before jumping at a signature height and taking Kageyama's toss for himself.

Hinata breathed in satisfaction, "Damn, I'm pretty awesome today. Then again, I'm always like this!" The line seemed out of place, especially when it came out of the orange-haired male's lips. Obnoxious laughter followed, also from Hinata, though it seemed forced out.

His behavior gave you the impression that Bokuto might have been parenting him too much. Therefore the smol baby had begun to pick up on the owl-man's conceited antics.

"Oi dumbass! That toss was meant for Asahi-San, are you blind or deaf? Both?!" The raven-haired setter fumed, receiving remarks of reassurance from Asahi himself yet his words fell on deaf ears.

After the setter's outburst, the match resumed, only this time-- the players grew wary of Hinata and wherever he ran to, as to avoid the whirlwind of chaos.

His next crime, happened to be inflicted upon poor Yamaguchi.

Hinata's speedy kill, managed to get past Tsukishima's single-man block and into the opposing side of the court. Unprepared for the incoming volleyball, Yamaguchi failed to receive it properly and had it land onto his precious face.

What got onto your nerves was the fact that Hinata didn't possess the liberty of apologizing. Instead, the shorty even bragged about how his spike managed to get through Tsukishima's supposedly spot-on read block.

Frowning, you approached Kiyoko and began your rant when she gave you an acknowledging smile. "What has gotten into him?" You whisper-yelled, clearly talking referencing Hinata's past movements since practice started.

The third-year manager merely shrugged her shoulders, uncertain of the cause herself. "He sort of reminds you of the ace from Fukurodani, doesn't he?" She smiles sympathetically and you emitted a troubled sigh.

From the sidelines, you watched as the conflict escalated into a full-on argument ranging from Hinata's lack of focus, said male's selfish calls, and Kageyama's obsession with milk.

"They've been hanging out too much, look how much he's influenced my Sho-Chan." Crossing your arms against your chest, you pouted miserably. Your sentence, for some reason, earned a knowing chuckle from your senpai.

On cue, you realized that you had just self-proclaimed ownership over your fellow first-year, blushing madly in the process of realization.

"Perhaps it's time you tell him how you feel (y/n)-Chan. I know it'll work between the two of you." She gives you a trustworthy thumbs-up.

You grew flustered, fiddling with your thumbs as you relayed your options. You risked a glance towards Hinata, seeing Kageyama grab him by the collar and slightly shoving the shorter male, then shaking your head stubbornly.

"Not under these current circumstances." You huffed out.

Both you and Kiyoko let out breaths of relief once the crossfire had been settled by Daichi, the responsible, short-fused captain/dad of the team. He gave the two males a penalty of running 10 laps around the gymnasium while they took a break from practice.

"I'll help you hand these out." You offered, taking a few water bottles from Kiyoko's hold.

You ran to Tanaka first, handing the ecstatic male his water bottle, much to his delight. Next, you headed over to Nishinoya, who was counting how many successful bumps he could make without moving his feet.

The second-year libero grinned and gratefully accepted the water bottle from you, only without asking for you to marry him afterwards.

You respectfully said: "No."

By the time you were done handing out your share of the water bottles, the duo had also finished their penalty so you took it upon yourself to hand over their towels and water bottles as well.

"Oh, thanks (y/n)." Kageyama says, his harsh tone slightly adjusting on a softer note when he talked to you. You gave the setter a smile before turning to Hinata, he was grinning at you, though it was not the one you were used to.

It had this mischievous feel to it, unlike the past ones where you'd genuinely be awe-struck at how much of an angel Hinata resembled when it was a smile graced his lips.

With a stony expression, you handed over the essentials, expecting it to be over in a flash when Hinata suddenly pulled you in for a chaste yet forced kiss on the lips.

At this, the gymnasium fell silent, even Kageyama lost the will to speak when he saw what his partner in crime was doing to innocent you.

Your eyes widened, and a pang of disdain hit your heart.

This was not, how you pictured your first kiss to be. Though it was with the male you had dreamed of sharing it with, it was neither magical nor sparkly. It most definitely did not make your heart go all doki-doki.

The orange-haired middle-blocker pulled away after a bold few seconds. "How's that for ya' (y/n)-Chan?" He tried smiling flirtatiously but you weren't sure at that point.

You felt something warm travel down the sides of your cheeks, earning squeaks of shock from your Senpais and fellow first-years. Instinctively, your hand reached up and a harsh 'smack' reverberated throughout the whole gymnasium.

"I-I..." You hiccuped, still beet-red and on the verge of hyperventilating.

"I hate you!!" You choked through sobs before shoving Hinata aside and dashing out of the gymnasium blindly.

Meanwhilst, practically everyone who witnessed the shameless display began to bombard Hinata with questions and insults. Needless to say, all he could ever think about was the bitterness in your voice, the venom in your stare, and the overall disgust you seemed to impose to his very existence for the crime he committed.

As guilt seeped into him, all he could think of in order to solve the chaos he created, was by stumbling through the exit of the gym and trusting his instincts to hunt you down.

Lapse

You stopped once you reached the lockers by the exit of the school building. Tears continued to work their way down you face and you struggled to wipe them off. As you tried to catch your breath, a set of rapid footwork rang throughout the hollow corridors.

It didn't take long for the orange-haired middle-blocker to find you. Your stamina couldn't compare to his animalistic drive, after all.

"(y/n)-Chan!" Exclaimed the orange-haired middle-blocker, approaching your trembling form. You steered your gaze from him, not wanting to look him in the eye after he pulled that stunt on you. After all, he must have just did that to show off his new persona.

"(y/n)-Chan..." His voice sounded just a few inches behind you now but you still refused to gaze at Hinata. "...I'm sorry alright? I don't know what came over me." The short male

"Arrogance? Greed? The need for attention?" You were well-aware that your words came out harsher than you intended but they just came out in the heat of the moment.

"Your attention." Hinata confirms and as you were taken aback at his claim, he shifts your body towards him, further surprising you. "Hear me out (y/n)-Chan... I know it's probably means nonsense to a smart girl like you but--  I thought if I acted more mature and cool you'd finally notice me because I really REALLY like you..." He pouted, your heart melted at the sight, much to your stubbornness' dismay.

You sighed, "Hinata... First of all, I just wanted to say this," You inhaled for a moment before putting on a scary expression.

"BOKE! HINATA YOU DUMBASS!"

"Not you too (y/n)-Chan!" The orange-haired male whimpered.

You fought the urge to giggle at his adorable reaction as you reverted back to his previous statements. "I already noticed you, dummy." You began, blushing madly as Hinata stared up at you with wide eyes.

"I like you for your personality-- it makes you all the more adorable! Besides, I really don't like how mean you got-- pushing Asahi-Senpai like that! And poor Yamaguchi had to take on one of your spikes and you couldn't even say sorry! If you're going to be mean like this then I don't like you at all!" For some reason your confession slowly transitioned into a lecture.

Hinata flinched and his hands clung onto your uniform, "Please don't hate me (y/n)-Chan! I won't ever be like that ever again! I'll apologize, I swear!"

"Alright, dummy." You smiled, flicking his forehead. "That's for upsetting me." Hinata was about to complain once again when your lips landed on his in a subtle peck.

"And this is to make us official."

"(y/n)-Chan!!" Hinata cried out, tackling you onto the ground and you yelped. "Hinata watch where your hand is!"
