Revelation

Falling.

Jason felt himself fall, and he reached out to grab anything- any rope, a ledge, something.

But his fingers came up with empty air.  He hit the bottom with a thud, a strange pain echoing through his body the same way the sound of his impact echoed through the pit.

An empty, dark-red pit.

He tried to open his mouth to scream, but found his voice had disappeared long ago.

A rattle, a hiss, and Jason was up on his feet in an instant, despite the fact he nearly fell fifty-feet.

"Who's there?" somebody's gritty voice filled the room. The voice struck Jason in the chest, and he faltered with his next step, gasping for air.

"Is it really-" another voice said.

"Jason Peter Todd." A final voice finished.

'Show yourself!" he wanted to scream, but he found that they did anyways. Three crony old ladies, dressed in grey-green robes, shriveled skin the colour of granite, seemingly appeared out of nowhere. He shuddered, as the feeling of authority just rippled through him.

These three women were powerful.

Suddenly the room filled with a strange green mist, and Jason backed into the wall. What the-

'"We are the Three Fates, child. Must you seem so afraid of those who mean you good?" One chuckled, flicking her wrist. Immediately, the tendrils of mist snapped out and started crawling up Jason's legs.

He tried to shake them off, to yank off the mist that suddenly seemed so alive, but found himself frozen. Unable to move, to speak.

He found himself a spectator as the green mist seemingly absorbed into his body, as if he was a sponge.

'Very disturbing-' he thought, until the Fates spoke again.

"You were once thinking why you didn't get any visions or ethereal callings. It was always the other four- your three brothers, your father. You thought you weren't special like them." Another woman smiled.

'Okay, that's fair- wait, how the hell do they know this?!  Not even I knew that-'  Jason thought, eyes widening. The Fates had read his inner thoughts, so inner and secret that not even he knew he felt as so.

"So we saved the most special vision for you, child. One that leads you directly to your mother." Said the Second Fate, looking at her sisters.

"Oh, and by the way, the twins are his." One added, just as Jason found himself falling once again.

Goddammit, gravity.

He hit a packed earth, hard and not friendly to falling humans, and he groaned, rolling to his side.  He opened his eyes, and saw something.

His Ma, in a smaller cell, with two small girls sleeping soundly on the cot. His Ma, looking out the barred window into the night sky.

"MA!" Jason wanted to yell. He felt something constrict his chest- the boy couldn't breathe, all he heard was his heartbeat in his ears, pounding, pounding.

Shut up, heart! I want to hear my Ma! Jason thought.

But his dear mother said not a word, staring out the window, drawing a strange pattern in the dust of the windowsill.

Not a pattern. Morse code.

- .... . / --- .-.. -.. / .-- .. -. . .-. -.--.

"The old winery" Jason translated into his head. He looked at his Ma, who now was staring directly at him, and he reached out a hand. "Ma? Can you see me?"

Just then, the cell burst into flames.

////

Jason woke up screaming and flailing, tears in his eyes.

"Jason! Jason! Are you okay?!" Strong arms wrapped around him and brought him close to a very broad chest, gently rocking him.

Bruce.

Without thinking, he wrapped his arms around his father's neck, sniffling. Bruce was taken aback, but welcomed the gesture, squeezing him gently.

"I'm here, son. Tell me what's up."

"The old winery." Jason muttered, thinking hard, when suddenly, he ripped himself away from Bruce and raced out his bedroom.

"Jason! What is it?!" Bruce chased after him as the boy dashed into the batcave. On his way in, he whacked Tim over the head.

"Ow! What the hell, Jason?!"

"Search up any abandoned wineries near the Bludhaven and Gotham Border.  That's basically where all the wineries are anyways."

"Wha- why? Jason, you're underage. Still got one more year to go." Dick piped in, wondering what was up.

"No! That's where they're hiding Ma! I'm sure of it!" he countered back, immediately shutting Dick up. Damian entered a few minutes later, yawning.

"Heard the yelling. What is going on?" he asked.

"There's four wineries, Jason. Which one do you think it'd be?" Tim said, typing rapidly.

Bruce stared at his second eldest, before it finally clicked. "Y-you had a vision."

"I don't wanna have no more, visions are scary as fu-"

"Language!"

"Sorry." he muttered, making his way over to the suit-closet. He pulled out his Red Hood helmet out of there, and grabbed rubber bullets and his two guns. "Damian, Dick, come suit up."

Tim said. "It's either one of these two warehouses. They're not so far from each other."

"Why so?" Bruce asked. "Why not the other ones?"

"I thought like a criminal, and I decided that if I was gonna hide a group of people that I was illegally experimenting on, then I'd go for either Yao's Winery or Old West Winery. They're both kinda secluded, both abandoned, and both on the east edge of the Blue Bluffs. That's an inconspicuous area. " Tim replied, typing in the coordinates of both wineries. "And they're 12 miles from each other. "

"Call Diana." Bruce tossed Dick his phone, and went to the closet to get his suit. "Suit up. We leave in 12. Good job, Jason."

"Wait, which winery do we hit?" Dick called.

"Both of them." Bruce said, a bright determination in his eyes.

A/N: Hello Ladies, Gents, Girls, Boys and Everyone in Between,

I apologize for this chapter being short- I actually have been so busy writing an anthology I'm publishing in late spring! Like, REAL publishing with actual paper!-  and please don't kill me (have mercy).

You guys are freaking dope (oof cringe never do that again, Nyssa) for all the reads! Thank you so much, I didn't think this fanfic would even get close to 45 reads!

I have a question- should I start another fanfic with my boi Timmy and a female S/O (OC Character, of course, that's my specialty) and the female is acc a 'Wanda Maximoff crossover'- like a scarlet witch but not named scarlet witch, and yea.

OR should I make another fanfic with Dickie bird and a smartass 'iron-man crossover'  and some severe drama?

BASICALLY- should I do a Marvel character crossover fanfic?

DONT WORRY I WILL START THIS AFTER THIS BOOK  IS FINISHED(no promises, sorry I can be annoying af, I bet yall just wanna hit me with a train right about now)

Have fun in quarantine, everyone- stay safe, WASH YOUR HANDS, SOCIAL DISTANCING bois

(I'm actually an AMBIVERT- i did like a hundred what's your personality' quizzes because I don't trust myself- and I'm struggling to not slam open the door and run down the street to my friend's house like a lunatic. So I can't imagine what it's like for extroverts, you have my empathy.)

Remember my bois- your health is first!
