Y/n's View

"New case." Chris says sliding a folder across the table.

I open the folder and go through it.

"Who's this?" I ask looking at the picture.

"Rue Bennet, age 17. Overdosed over the summer and nearly died. There's a new drug doing around East Highland High School and we believe she's friends with the dealer." Chris says.

"Get close to her and find out who he is. Then bring him in." Chris says.

"How am I gonna do that?" I ask.

"You're going to high school... again." Chris says.

I widen my eyes and he throws a backpack at me.

I graduated 3 years ago and my high school experience was not great. My social anxiety didn't let me make any my friends. While my older sister and brother were partying, I was at at home watching Family Fued with my parents.

"No! Why can't Gonzales do it?!" I say.

"Gonzales is 26 and has more gray hairs than my grandma. You're 21 and you can maybe pass as a super senior." Chris says.

"You're schedule and everything you need to know is in the folder. Don't blow your cover." Chris says.

I sigh and get up.

"Leave the gun. There's already enough gunfire in schools." Chris says.

I take my gun out of the holster and put it in his desk.

Time Skip

"This isn't fair." Someone says.

"Want to avoid another detention?" Mr Hayes asks.

"Fine." They say.

The office door opens and a girl walks out.

"This is Maddy. She'll be showing you around for the day." Mr Hayes says.

I nod and get up.

"Follow me, try not to get lost." Maddy says.

Maddy opens the door and I follow her out.

"Name?" Maddy asks.

"Y/n." I say.

"So be honest, how many years did you stay back?" Maddy asks.

"What?" I ask.

"I know damn well you aren't 18." Maddy says.

"You're a super-super senior." Maddy says.

"I'm 19. I stayed back a year." I say.

"Mhm, okay." Maddy says.

"Don't get in with the wrong crows and you'll be okay." She says.

"So I shouldn't be talking to you?" I ask.

"I'm the right crowd but the wrong people try to step on my toes. Stay on my good side and we won't have a problem." Maddy says.

I nod and she opens the door.

Time Skip

I go in the bathroom and look under the stalls. I take my phone out and call Chris.

"Captain K." Chris says answering the phone.

"I'm in." I say.

"Have you found Rue?" Chris asks.

"No but I met someone. She's seems popular so she might know Rue." I say.

"Okay, do whatever you gotta do to get her to trust you." Chris says.

The bathroom door opens and Maddy comes in.

"I gotta go." I say hanging up.

"Who was that?" Maddy asks.

"My dad." I say.

"So there's a party tonight and I was wondering if you wanted to go." Maddy says.

"You're inviting me to a party?" I ask.

"Yeah. Is there something wrong with that?" Maddy asks.

"I've never been to a party before." I say.

"Are you serious?" Maddy asks.

"Yeah." I say.

"Well, you gotta come." Maddy says.

"Okay." I say.

"I'll text you." Maddy says.

I nod and walk out.

My first ever party. What do I do? How do I act?

I take my phone out and dial a number.

"Hey." Allison says.

"Hey. I'm going to my first party tonight." I say.

"It's a 3 hour flight, I'm on my way!" Allison says.

I smile and hang up.

Time Skip

"My little sister is going to her first party!" Allison says hugging me.

"What kind of party is this? Business party? Baby shower?" Allison asks.

"A high school party." I say.

"Y/n, you're 21. Why are you partying with minors?" Allison says.

"I'm undercover." I say.

"Nobody is gonna believe you are in high school. You're not even a super senior! I'm 25 and I look younger than you." Allison says laughing.

"Stop laughing." I say.

"But it's a party, everyone is gonna be drunk, they won't know." She says.

"Okay." I say.

Time Skip

"Hey auntie." Maddy says.

"Don't call me that." I say.

"Not my fault you look as old as you do." Maddy says.

"You look nice." I say.

"Tell me something I don't know." Maddy says.

"Hey, Rue." Maddy says as a girl walks up to us.

"Y/n this is Rue Bennet, Rue this is Y/n Y/l/n." Maddy says.

"How do you know each other? Is this your sugar mama?" Rue asks.

They laugh and I roll my eyes.

"She's the new kid." Maddy says.

"Oh, I'll see you around." Rue says before walking away.

"That really hurt my feelings." I say.

"You're lucky she didn't call you a a narc." Maddy asks.

"What's that?" I ask.

"A police officer that deals with drugs. You kinda look like one." Maddy says.

"I look like one?" I ask.

"Yeah. You seem really uptight and strict." She says.

"I could use a drink." I say.

Maddy smiles and nods.

"What are you doing here?" Someone asks.

"Having a good time." Maddy says.

"You said you weren't coming." He says.

"I changed my mind." Maddy says.

He looks at me and looks back at Maddy.

"This is my friend, Y/n. Y/n this is Nate." Maddy says.

"Her boyfriend." Nate says.

"Ex boyfriend." Maddy says.

"Not for long." Nate says.

Maddy rolls her eyes and Nate walks away.

"He seems nice." I say.

"He's a dick." She says.

"So why are you still with him?" I ask.

"I can't find anyone to replace him." She says.

"Look no further." I say jokingly.

"You wish." She says.

"Yes, I do." I say.

She laughs and I smile.
