"We- We'll talk about this when I get back..." Hawks says before he leaves the room. Shit. What have you done? Have you just made a decision that would cause you to loose your friendship with Hawks or even get you fired? What were you thinking? You panic as you sit in the hospital room, alone with nothing but your thoughts keeping you company. Occasionally, some people would come and go to talk to you. A reporter even came in to ask you questions about the attack. But, you didn't really care. You just wanted to talk to Hawks, and time couldn't go by fast enough while you waited.

Eventually, the winged man who you had so desperately wanted to see finally stepped into the room, sitting down on the bed. There was a good five minutes of silence before you had finally said something. "Hawks... I-I'm sorry! I didn't mean to do that and I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable." You say, looking at your thumb as you pick at it, something that you did when you were stressed. "Listen, Kid. It's alright." Hawks says. "I just- It's not that I don't understand your feelings, cause I do. But-" He stops, thinking over what he'd say next. "Well, for one, I don't think you fully understand how hard it'd be to be in a relationship with a hero." He says, placing a hand over yours. You look at him about to say something before he continues. "And also, it isn't that I dislike you or anything like that. I just- I don't feel as if something like that between us would work out." He says with a sigh. You just nod, looking down at the bed sheets. "But-But what if-" You start, not finishing your sentence before saying "I-I guess you're right, Hawks..." You say.

Hawks watches you for a second, catching a glimpse of your dejected face. He sighs. "If you really wanted to try, (Y/N)..." He starts. "I wouldn't be opposed to seeing where a relationship with you would lead." He says, lifting up your chin so that you were looking at her. "I just- I don't want this to be something that causes you to get hurt if it doesn't work out." He finishes. You just stare at him, waiting to see if he has anything else to say. "Are you sure you're not just saying this cause you feel bad for me?" You question. Hawks shakes his head. "No, (Y/N), I am not. I've thought about this before." He admits. This causes you to go a bit red. He... He thought about this before? "So, (Y/N), what do you say? Will you... go out with me?" He asks more formally. You stare at him for a second in silence before you meekly say "Y-Yes."

You had been discharged from the hospital a few days ago. Hawks insisted that you take a few days off from work as well just so you could rest up some more. Every now and then, Hawks would give you a call and check in on you. But, overall, you just stayed in your apartment watching TV. While watching the news, who was still talking about the attack, you hear a knock on your door. You get up and walk over, opening it. To your surprise, you see Hawks standing in the doorway. He has a small smile on his face as he greets you.ย  "Hawks, what are you doing here?" You say, stepping aside so he can come inside. "I just wanted to make sure you were ok. I figured that we should hangout for the day, maybe watch a movie." He says. You watch as he sits down on your couch, you following in his stead.

You sit down, folding your legs to your chest before picking the remote up. "So.. what do you want to watch?" You ask, looking over to Hawks. "What ever's on is fine." He says with a shrug. You nod and scroll through the channels before settling on one of those channels that just stream movies non stop. The two of you sat there for a while in silence. Your silence was as a result of you keeping your focus fixated on the movie, which just so happened to be horror, and Hawks' was more of him watching you every now and again. Not in a creepy way, of course. Eventually, the silence between the two of you were broken by Hawks' shifting positions. Shortly after that, you feel something soft wrap around you, pulling you so that you were laying against the winged man's chest. "You looked scared." He said, wrapping his arms around you so that he was holding you. You just nod. Sure, you were a little scared of the movie. Horror wasn't a genre that you'd watch frequently, despite being one of your favorites. But, you didn't think that your little bit of fear was visible.

At some point during your, what you were referring to as, date with Hawks, you had fallen asleep. At this point in time, Hawks was playing with your hair and hadn't noticed that you were asleep yet. This lasted until you started talking about some nonsense under your breath. To that, Hawks leans over you to look at you, and yep, you were out like a light. Hawks just smiles before he stands up, carrying you bridal style. "Now, where's the bedroom?" He mutters to himself, opening and closing a few random doors until he finds your room. He walks over to your bed, placing you down and tucking you in. As he starts to walk out of the room, he feels a tug on his arm. Looking over, Hawks sees you clinging on to his hand. This small thing brings a smile to his face. He sits down beside you, pulling his phone out from his pocket. He sends out a few texts before putting his phone down, laying beside you.

He strokes his hands through your hair before wrapping his arms around you waist, pulling you closer to him. Hawks uses the top of your head to rest his chin, letting out a small sigh, he closes his eyes. He, himself falling asleep.

You wake up, feeling something, no someone holding you. Your face seems to be buried into that someone's chest. You felt warm. This feeling was nice, but who was the person who had you in their embrace? You sit up, looking down to see just who was next to you. And there he was, Hawks. Your face goes red and your eyes widen and your whole body goes hot. "What's wrong, baby bird?" He asks, opening one of his eyes to look up at you. A small smirk tugs at his lips as he looks at your flustered expression. "Your hair is a mess," Hawks says, pulling you back down. "It's cute." He says, brushing his fingers through your tangled hair. Placing a kiss on your forehead, Hawks lets out a long sigh, pulling you closer to him once again. You just stare at him, your face still beet red. Hawks sits up, bringing you upright with him. His wings wrap around you, encasing you in a feathered cocoon. "You should come and live with me, (Y/N)." He says. Live with him? You stare in silence, not able to form a response. "We could do this everyday if you do. Plus, you'd be in a safer neighborhood with a nicer home. Not that your apartment isn't nice, just cramped." He says, topping off his statement. Living with Hawks? An idea like that never ever made its way into your mind.

While you loved the idea, you just couldn't think of anything to say to reply. After all, moving out wasn't something that you could just easily do. You would have to sell a lot of your stuff and wait for your lease to end, which wasn't for another 3 months now. Of course, you could just break it, but that would mean you'd have to scavenge up a lot of money. Money that you don't have. You furrow your eyebrows, your eyes trailing out of focus as you think about it. "You can take some time to think about it. Moving in with someone else is a pretty huge deal." He says, acknowledging your reaction. "N-No. I want to. I just- I don't have the money to break my lease for the apartment right now." You reply. Hawks just nods. "I could pay for it, if you want." He replies nonchalantly. Your eyes widen at the fact that he could say that so casually. I mean, that'd be thousands of dollars he's spending on you. "N-No! I can't ask you to drop that much money for me!" You reply. "It's fine, kid. I am sure you can find some way to pay me back." He smiles, sending a wink at you. This causes an intense blush to come to you face. "Just kidding." Be chuckles. "Don't worry about paying me back. I don't mind." He says. You just nod, looking down at the mattress to think about it for a minute. "As- As long as it won't be trouble for you, then I'd be happy to move in with you." You reply. This makes Hawks' already existing smile grow brighter. He leans in and kisses you, a kiss that was filled with passion.
