After Cain left, everyone in the room went to do their own things.
Some nobles were talking about how to get on Cale good side, while some were thinking about how to get rid of Cale.

Many different race were either stay together or went their own ways.

While Cale was leaning against the wall with a wine glass in his hand. He was to lost in thought, as he was thinking about how to borrow the necromancer's power. Then at that moment.

"U-uhm. Excuse me..." Mary was the one who called out to him. She was a bit nervous which was quite weird for her to feel this way.

"Yes?" Cale answered with a confused face. He was actually confused. Even though he was thinking about how to borrow her power, he didn't think she would be the one to talk to him first. He couldn't see her face as the hood that she wear already cover all of her face.

"Thank you very much for earlier. I couldn't say this earlier because you were resting." Mary said as she bow a little toward him.

"Oh... Uh it's okay." Cale was a little surprised as he didn't really expect her to thank him.

"Don't you...find it uncomfortable to talked with, someone who used dead mana, like me?" Mary asked in a quiet voice but Cale could still hear her. Mary was looking down at her feet.

Even though, Mary knows that he's different from other and probably wouldn't judge her for that but she couldn't help it.

"What's wrong with that?"

Mary look up when she heard his answer.

"There's nothing wrong with you using dead mana. It's your choice. Just because you used dead mana does not mean you are evil." Cale said as he sip his wine. He wasn't look at her but at the people who were chatting.

Cale then turn to look at Mary and said in a low voice, so that only her could hear him.
"Also some of my people actually used dead mana, you know?"

Mary look at him in shock when she heard that.

There was a smile on his face as he continued.
"So don't worry about that and enjoy yourself. Ignored other people words. It's not like you eat their food."

Mary still has a shocked expression even though no one could see it. She didn't expect there was someone else, other than those that raised her, who didn't care about her using dead mana. She was really happy.

"Thank you very much, young master-nim." She said with a smile as she lift her hood just enough for him to see that she was sincere.

"Sure." Cale said as he subconsciously pat her head like he did to his kids. To be honest, he's a little surprised that she actually let him see her face even if it just a little.

Mary was a bit surprised at his action but she subconsciously lean into his touch because it feels warm to her.

When Cale realize what he just did, he wants to pulled his hand back but stop when he feels her leaning into his touch.

Many people were watching their interaction in curiosity. Some were still a bit surprised that Cale could talk to, someone who dead mana, so casually.

Tasha smile. She was really glad that Cale didn't chase Mary away when Mary talk to him. This is the first time that Mary asking for permission to talked to someone that she didn't even know.

*Flashbacks*

Tasha noticed that Mary was looking at someone so she followed her line of sight, only to find that it's actually Cale.

Tasha turned to look at Mary and asked.
"What's wrong, Mary?"

"... Can I go talk to him?" Mary blurted out. Only when she finished that she realized what she just said. She looks down in guilt.

Tasha was actually quite surprised when she heard her questions. But she started to smile when she see Mary look down in guilt.

The other dark elves were also surprised at her questions but they didn't comment on it and let Tasha decided.

"Sure, why not." Tasha answer with a smile. Mary looks up in surprised. She didn't expect that answer.

Tasha smile as she asked.
"Do you want to thanks him for what he said before?"

Mary was a bit shocked at that. She look down then nodded.

*Flashbacks end*

"Ah. There was actually something I want to ask you." Cale said after he stop patting Mary head.

"Yes?" Mary tilted her head to the side as if telling Cale to continue.

"I was wondering if I could borrow your power and It's okay to refuse, I won't force you." Cale said as he put his wine glass down.

"My power...?" Mary asked as she pointed at herself.

"Yep. What do you think?" Cale nods as he looked at her.

"...Can I think about it and talk to my family about it first?" Mary finally asked after a while.

"Sure. Remember, you don't have to force yourself if you don't want to." Cale said as he pat her head then walk back to his seat.

Mary touch her head and smile a little, after that she walked back to where the dark elves are.

Tasha wave at her and smile. The other dark elves also smile at her.

Mary thought It was a bit weird because normally, she couldn't really express her feeling as her voice sound so emotionless but she have smile a few time already after talking to Cale a little.

Mary started to smile again. That's right. She doesn't have to worry about other opinion. As long as her and the people that she care about are all happy, then that's all that matters.

After Cain left, Hans went to Aiden's group and hide there, since people going to find out about their relationship anyway.

Hans really want to cry as he still feel Beacrox gaze on him. Like what did he do?! Beacrox has never looked at him with such a vicious gaze like that when he was working for the Henituse family, so why?!

While Luka, Liam and Aiden glance at Beacrox then gave each other a knowing look.

Auntie Lynn want to tell them to not cause any trouble but Uncle Las stop her and just shake his head with a smile. She sigh and give up.

Luka went behind Hans then hug him.

Hans squeak in surprised as he turned to look at them.
"H-huh? Oh. Hey Luka."

"What's wrong, Hans-nim?"

Luka asked as he pulled Hans toward a sofa. He let Hans sit down then he sat to Hans right and hug him. He started to smile when he feel someone gaze on him. Luka was actually thinking of making Hans sit on his lap but he changed his mind as it seems this is enough.

Aiden follow and sat down next to Hans. He also hug Hans and smile as he put his head on Hans shoulder.

Liam pouted and sat next to Aiden with his arms crossed. Which is weird since he always fight with Aiden. But Aiden thought Liam want him to let go of Hans so Liam could hug Hans instead, that's why Aiden decided to ignored Liam.

Lena, Cage, Hannah and Simon shake their head as they seem to know what's Aiden thinking about.

Hans didn't really find anything wrong with this and answer.
"It's nothing. It's just that Beacrox hyung was glaring at me. He's really scary." Hans look like he wants to cry when he said the last part.

"Oh." Aiden let out as he nuzzles closer to Hans. Hans just pat his head like he used to.

Beacrox stiffened when he heard what Hans call him then smile a little. But his smile quickly disappeared from his face and his expression turned even colder when he see Aiden nuzzles closer to Hans, while Hans just pat his head as if he used to this.

Ron shake his head at his son reaction but didn't comment on it. He turn to look at Cale who was talking with Mary but he couldn't hear their conversation, since they were quite far.

Tasha and Rosalyn high-five each other as they started to smile.

"You called him hyung?" Luka asked as he started to play with Hans hair. He glance at Beacrox then gave him a smug expression.

Beacrox glared at him but Luka ignored him.

"Yep. Me and young master-nim both called him hyung, since he's the oldest out of the three of us." Hans said with a smile as he continued to pat Aiden head.

"Oh." Was all Luka said as he lean on Hans shoulder. It seems he's trying to sleep.

Hans didn't say anything at first but then he asked.
"Umm why don't you guys sleep on the other sofa instead? I think it's more comfortable than staying like this."

"Nope~" was all Luka and Aiden said as Aiden continued to hug Hans, while Luka lean on Hans shoulder.

Hans sigh in defeat. He accidentally made eye contact with Beacrox at that moment. Hans started to cry with an imaginary tears as Beacrox gaze was really cold. He didn't do anything for God sake!

Hans look down since he didn't want to continue looking at that scary expression. After about five minutes, he decided to peak at Beacrox a little, only to regret his decision. Beacrox was cleaning his sword while looking at them with a really cold gaze.

'But where the hell did he get that sword from?! Didn't Cain-nim already confiscated all the weapon?!' Hans thought as he buried his face in his hand.

Auntie Lynn laugh as she asked.
"You all want to eat something? I'll go bring them."

"Yes."

"I'll go with you." Cage and Lena said at the same time. They look at each other and laughed.

After that they went to bring food and drinks for everyone as they wait for Cain to come back.

Although Hans couldn't relax since Beacrox was glaring dagger at him, is what he thought. But in truth, Beacrox was actually glaring at Aiden and Luka.

After Edric have a little chat/spar with Deruth( more like beat him), he and Zed was having a conversation about what Edric was doing before he got here. After they done, Edric remove the sound proof barrier.

"So can you tell me a little about what you said before?" Zed still ended up asking Edric what's he mean, when he talks about Jour and Cale.

"Haha- what do you think of Jour smile, the one that you instantly know she mad?" Edric laugh as he asked.

"Hm? Not much? I just know I shouldn't pissed her more?" Zed answered as that's the only answer he could think of.

"That's smile actually has a lot of different meanings. Well, probably only our family know, and one of them is that 'A great disaster would happen when she smile like that', is what we thought when we saw her smile." Edric said as he looked at Zed with a serious expression, then laugh.

Zed was looking at Edric in disbelief.
But Edric wasn't done.

"Don't you remember, something would always happen, after she smile like that?" Edric ask.

"Don't tell me..." Zed had a look of realization.

"Yep! It was all her doing, not mine. She's a troublemaker when she was a kid, that if you see with your own eyes, I'm sure you'll say I'm quite normal compared to her." Edric nods as he confirmed Zed thought.

"Hah..." Zed sigh as he buried his face in his hand. If what Edric had done is called normal, then he didn't dare to think about what Jour had done.

"I had thought Cale got his personality from you but to think it's run in your blood... Hah." Zed said as he remember all that headache and sigh again. He looks at Fidel and sigh again. Cause even Fidel was shocked.

Many people started to feel curious about their conversation.

Even Cale, since the mother that he knows was always gentle and calm but when he heard his uncle words, to say he was surprised is an understatement. His mother going around causing trouble? He can't imagine that.

'Hm. So that's why she knows I was an assassin the moment we met.' Ron thought as he remember when the late countess, call him out on this.

"Is Lady Jour really like that?" Lady Violan turned to ask her husband. Deruth had an awkward expression on his face.

"It's okay, I just want to know how you two met." Lady Violan explain.

Deruth sigh and said with an awkward face.
"I met her by accident when we were at the academy when she was having an argument with a noble and a fight broke out between her and the few nobles..."

"Wait, really?! I thought she told she met you at a cafe and found your stupid expression cute or something?!" Zed and Edric exclaimed at the same time.

"Hah...yes, a fight really broke out but the place was quite isolated, everyone were probably in class as there wasn't anyone who see it, other than me. So she asked me not to tell you. She was using a disguise, so those nobles probably thought she was a commoner, that's why." Deruth sigh as he explain.

"Wow. If only I could met her..." Lady Violan mutter. Deruth look at her in disbelief and sigh again.

While Zed and Edric were holding their head in disbelief.

Many nobles were shocked to hear that. Especially those who knows the late countess, couldn't believe what they heard.

After that Lady Violan proceed to ask Deruth more about Lady Jour. She even drag Deruth to Zed's table and started asking Zed and Edric, even Fidel too.

Zed sigh, even Lady Violan didn't seem to care that he was the king. He decided to gave up at this point.

Many people were actually stealthily listen to their conversation as it was somewhat interesting.

They then wait until Cain return.

• About Edric, I only realized that I haven't read anything about the Thames family but since I already put it like this l just go with the flow. I feel really stupid when I realized that ( ；∀；)

• If it not match with the novel, oh well then, it's already an au anyway since I haven't decided whether I should talk about the hunter or not in this au.

• Sorry if this chapter was short as I come up with this at the last moment, so some part might not make sense.
