———————————————————————-

Alison hums merrily as they skipped down the busy streets of New Orleans, short heels clicking against the pavement, long curly brown hair bouncing with them, red cotton dress swaying with them. Men all around stopped to stare and admire Alison's beauty, though they would deny this to be the truth. Alison was a charming and bright person, being able to keep up with any conversation with enthusiasm and vast knowledge of the subject. Yes, Alison was a much beloved person in the city, even if their skin was a less desirable tone considering the time period.

Despite this, Alison lived a far less then desirable life. Alison's father was very abusive towards Alison and their mother, as was common for really anyone that wasn't white at the time. There was also that Alison didn't feel like an Alison, though born female, they did not feel correct in their own skin. Alison felt like an Alastor, felt that they were born incorrectly, that they were meant to be a male. This became troubling as he came to realize that despite feeling like a man, they still had attractions to men, which was heavily frowned upon and could lead to death.

Lucifer had a large grin on his face as he saw the tainted soul of the man in a woman's body, a foolish mortal he could manipulate with ease, what a delectable soul to feed upon. Lucifer envelopes himself in a heavy smoke as he changed his form to look more like a human as he approached Alison. He spoke to them politely, gently, yet never talking down to them, being the perfect example of a true gentleman. He acted according to Alison's desired characteristics, respecting their boundaries, never speaking down to them, and complimenting them for their intelligence and charm rather than their appearances. Oh how the poor mortal just melted, their smile wide and eyes soft as they trusted this mysterious man so quickly.

It took merely two months for Lucifer to convince Alison to be alone with him in the forest, what a poor naive soul, so desperate for companionship. Lucifer almost felt pity for what he was preparing to do to the poor fool. He reached into his pocket and spun on his heels as he pulled out the hand gun on the mortal, who's eyes widen in shock, a deer in the headlights like look as the one they trusted suddenly lodged cold lead between their eyes. Alison's body fell to the ground, blood dripping down and ruining her beautiful tan skin, though in Lucifer's eyes this only further served to amplify their beauty. Lucifer had decided to lay a gift upon the mortals demonic form, a mocking reward for such an entertaining experience.

Alastor groans as he slowly picks himself up off the ground, startling himself as he realizes the vast difference in his voice, not just the radio filter, but it was deeper as well. He looks down at his hands only to see black and red claws in their place, startled and confused he dashes to a nearby shop, the glass reflecting his new demonic form. It didn't take Alastor long to figure out he was in hell, and that he'd become a demon, however he was simply to overwhelmed with joy to truly care. Finally, he felt comfortable in his own skin, he felt like he was in the right body, like he was who he was meant to be all along. God may have made him a woman, but he was always a man inside, and Lucifer granted him the body to match.

Several decades later, Alastor quickly gained a reputation for slaughtering some of the oldest evils in hell, and he prided himself on his reputation. This eventually lead to him meeting his amazing friend Nifty and his beloved partner Husk. While their relationship was rocky at first, Alastor and Husk love each other significantly and have done a lot for each other, there were no secrets between the two and they were happy. Well, no secrets but one. Alastor had never mentioned he was born female in his human life, not from wishing to hide it, but rather seeing it as insignificant as he was a himself, not her. Unfortunately, Lucifer desired to end this happiness between the cat and deer demons, so he hatched a plan.

His arrival was sudden, unannounced and unapologetic as he entered the radio demon and the cat demon's shared home. The two were started by his sudden appearance, not having done anything to warrant the kings arrival, but neither one was able to fit a word in when the fallen angel spoke. "Ah! Alison, it's been quite some time hasn't it? I see that new body of yours is treating you quite well!" Lucifer chirps with a smug twinkle in his eyes. Alastor freezes as Husk gives the king a confused stare before looking up at the deer, his eyes widen as he sees Alastor's reaction, did Alastor know what he was talking about? Lucifer fakes a gasp as he looks at Husk, "oh don't tell me she never told you! Why Alison how cruel you've been, why during the short time we were dating you told me about everything~" Lucifer purrs. It clicked, it clicked then that Lucifer was talking to Alastor, who glared at Lucifer with an icy gaze. Then he finally spoke.

"So I never really knew you
But I really tried to
Blindsided, addicted
Felt we could really do this
But really I was foolish
Hindsight it's
Obvious
Talking with Rosie she said
'Where'd you find this guy?'
I said, 'Young people fall in love'
'With the wrong people sometimes'
Some mistakes get made
That's alright, that's okay
You can think that you're in love
When you're really just in pain
Some mistakes get made
That's alright, that's okay
In the end it's better for me
That's the moral of the story 'babe'
It's funny how a memory
Turns into a bad dream
When running wild turns volatile
Remember how we painted our house?
Just like my grandparents did, so romantic
But we fought the whole time
Should have seen the signs, yeah
Talking with my mother she said
'Where'd you find this guy?'
I said, 'Some people fall in love'
'With the wrong people sometimes'
Some mistakes get made
That's alright, that's okay
You can think that you're in love
When you're really just in pain
Some mistakes get made
That's alright, that's okay
In the end it's better for me
That's the moral of the story 'babe'
They say it's better to have loved and lost
Than never to have loved at all
That could be a load of shit
But I just need to tell you all
Some mistakes get made
That's alright, that's okay
You can think that you're in love
When you're really just engaged
Some mistakes get made
That's alright, that's okay
In the end it's better for me
That's the moral of the story
Some mistakes get made
That's alright, that's okay
You can think that you're in love
When you're really just in pain
Some mistakes get made
That's alright, that's okay
In the end it's better for me
That's the moral of the story 'babe'"

Husk and Lucifer were both left speechless, mouths hung open-agape-as they processed Alastor's song. Quickly Alastor summoned his shadows and threw the king of hell out, not caring one single bit about possible consequences at this point. He froze as he felt warmth envelope him, a deep and rough voice whispering soothing words into his ears, which fell back as emotions swept through the overlord. Tears forced there way out of his eyes and broken sobs escaped his mouth as he became overwhelmed by the pains of his past.

"It don't matter who you were in the past Al, you're you, and I love you for you. Don't matter if you're Alastor or Alison, you're who you want to be, and you're always gonna be Alastor to me" Husk mumbles in Alastor's ear, trying to comfort his boyfriend. Alastor smiles softly as he turns and hugs his significant other tightly, nuzzling his cheek against Husk fluffy face lovingly. Husk sighs in false annoyance, a soft smile on his face as he gently pets Alastor's head, adoring the happiness that radiated off his beloved deer. Alastor pulls back to place a gentle kiss on Husk lips as he mutters "thank you my darling, I love you too".
