Another Radiodust Week 2021: Halloween

The first of anything is important, and this would be the first time Alastor would be celebrating Halloween with Angel, so they spider demon had to make it count, since it seemed rather obvious that the red deer demon had a almost eerie love for the holiday. Angel gave Charlie the idea for a pumpkin carving contest that his lover won in a fucking landslide, Angel helped Al set up the decorations the overlord insisted on making himself, and they even agreed on a couples costume together. It was hilarious actually, but they decided on a costume that made Alastor look like a doe while Angel was dressed as a stereotypical hunter, how ironic. It took everything in Angel's power to cover his mouth and stop himself from squealing at how cute the overlord looked as a doe, he couldn't believe this adorable little deer was his boyfriend.

"Cute' was not a word one would typically use to describe the radio demon, but the way the outfit looked on the lanky man was just too much for Angel's gay heart to bare. The hand stitched outfit was mostly red with a black underside and little black dots on his lower black, it matched his boyfriend's color scheme so well he just had to take several pictures, there was absolutely no questioning that. Angel took many pictures of Al in his costumes, but only really a few selfies of the two of them, since he was way more obsessed with how cute Al looked than anything else. This was much to the dismay of Alastor, who was not the biggest fan of having his picture taken, since his preferred form of grabbing attention was through his voice, not his face. But, he begrudgingly let Angel take the pictures as he knew Angel wouldn't put them on social media against his wishes, due in large part because he knew the photos would just be distorted if he did. While he did love his lover dearly, he wasn't about to compromise on his 'no photos on social media' rule at all.

Angel knew that Alastor wasn't particularly interested in sweets, so he decided to do the trick-or-treating first so they can get it over with, plus he knew Al would enjoy killing everyone who made fun of his hand-made outfit that he spent countless hours on. Which is ultimately what ended up happening, most houses refused to give out candy to two fully grown men, until Alastor reminded them of who he was despite the adorable costume, and the person would end up being slaughtered ruthlessly afterwards. After that they returned to the hotel to divide up their candy stash, or more accurately, so Angel could give Al his sour candies while Alastor gave him everything else. After that, they did the thing that Angel wanted to get out of the way that he knew his boyfriend would enjoy the most, they went to a haunted house. It was not exactly a fun experience for him as he kept getting jumpscared by literally everything, but he guessed it was worth it to hear his boyfriend laugh at the actors jumping out of nowhere and the fake props and sound effects. Sometimes he wondered if Al was scared of anything, but he was reminded that yes, Alastor was afraid of something as the deer leapt in his arms as the sound of dogs barking echoed in the dinky attraction, he made a mental note to never take Al there again after that.

After that was done, the two went back to the hotel to make caramel apples, a fun activity most would have done already, but Al insisted that they do it on the day for some reason. Al even insisted on making the caramel from scratch, which Angel didn't even know how to do, so he wasn't exactly helpful in the whole process. He mostly ended up being the one to skewer the apples they would be dipping, he also ended up dipping most of the apples, but he also had the advantage of having three times the amount of hands as his boyfriend. He ultimately did let Al do most of the dipping, since this was supposed to be for Alastor in the first place, and Angel would make absolutely no complaints about not having to do work or just less work, not that he'd tell Al. While it wasn't his favorite thing in the world, he would admit it was pretty fun, but he guess he enjoyed almost anything that made Al genuinely happy, not fake happy like his usual.

While the candied apples were set up to chill, Angel was popping popcorn in the microwave as Alastor was in their now shared room picking out a movie for them to watch, and while Angel pleaded for him not to pick something too scary, he wouldn't be surprised if his pleads fell on deaf ears. He poured the bag of cheap popcorn into a bowl and walked back up to their room, settling down on the bed and pulling his boyfriend close by the waist as the movie started. As expected, his pleads for mercy went unheard as the movie in question was in fact 'Poltergeist', though this could possibly just be Alastor's version of a tame movie despite the scene with a guy tearing his skin off. The two ate their popcorn as they watched the movie with varying degrees of interest, Alastor being far more interested in Angel as he'd personally never seen the film before, and Angel had seen the movie but only watched it once. By time their Halloween activities were all done, Alastor was more than a little bit exhausted, which was also more than endearing to Angel. As he laid Alastor down and turned off the light, he could help but think. Halloween might not have been his favorite holiday, or anywhere close really, but if Al loved it so much, maybe he could too.
