Ochako Uraraka

Staring at the detached limb of the teddy bear before you, you knew that any chance you had with a certain petite brunette diminished instantly. Lying in front of you laid Ochako's cherished childhood toy covered in slobber and its own fluff. Snatching up the toy before any further damage could ensue, you scolded your dog before pushing her out of your room. She may only be a puppy, but did she really have to chew up your crushes teddy bear?

"She's so gonna kill me," you whined out, attempting to push the missing leg back into place.

Pacing back and forth, ideas on how to handle the situation filled your brain, though the thought of losing your friendship with the girl racked your mind with horror. It was hard enough being in love with your best friend, but you refused to lose her so easily.

Suddenly your pacing came to a halt as a familiar ringtone dedicated to your beloved filled your ears. "Speak of the devil," you mumbled before shakily answering the call.

"Heya (Y/N), I think I might've left Mr. Mochi at your house the other night. Can you check and see if you can find him," her voice rang out through the phone. Though her voice was as bubbly as always, concern for her precious bear laced through her words.

Widening your eyes in fear, you stared at the deformed bear as you contemplated on how to respond.

"U-uh lemme look real quick. I-I don't s-see it right now, but I'll c-call you back when I find it. Bye," you hastily exclaimed before quickly hanging up. You weren't the best at lying, but you at least hoped your excuse could buy you some time to fix up this situation.

Picking up the remaining fluff off the floor, you placed the bear on the desk located in your bedroom. Scrambling through your drawers, your hands finally found a familiar metal cookie bin. Opening the container, you sighed in relief to see sewing materials rather than actual cookies. Though your stomach grumbled at the thought of cookies, fixing Mr. Mochi was your priority at the moment.

Reaching for a needle and thread, it took at least 30 minutes attempting to get the thread through the loop, but once you successfully tied a knot, you began your mission on reattaching the bear's leg. "Please let my grandmothers sewing skills be hereditary," you mumbled under your breath, praying for the best results.

After what felt like hours, you finally held up your work to examine it before you. Though you attempted to make the stitches as unnoticeable as possible, a beginner like you didn't stand a chance.

"She's totally gonna find out," you cried out, shaking the bear within your grip lightly as tears threatened to spill.

"Guess I'll have to tell her the truth after all," you sighed before placing the bear in your bookbag and sending Ochako a quick text.

(Y/N): Found Mr. Mochi! I'll give him to you after class tomorrow

(Ochako): Thank you!

Typing up a quick goodnight, you snuggled under the covers of your bed, hoping tomorrow never would come.

You were a diligent student at U.A, to say the least, but today's lessons were completely zoned out as all the worst possible outcomes to come flowed through your mind. It wasn't until a delicate hand placed itself on your shoulder did you snap out of your trance to realize that the school day had ended and only you and Ochako remained in the classroom. Standing up abruptly, she looked at you with concern.

"Hey (Y/N), you ok," she asked, noticing your worrisome expression.

"Y-yeah, it just, I have something important to tell you, I just don't know how to say it," you mumbled out, looking down at your feet as you stood before her.

A bright blush covered her face as she reached out to grab your balled up fists before lacing her fingers with your own.

Raising your head to look at her, you noticed how flustered she looked, which took you by surprise. It was easy to make her look so embarrassed, yet you didn't expect this response from her.

"I-if you can't say, t-then I'll go first. I l-love you (Y/N)," she stuttered as her grip on your hands tightened.

Processing her words, you gasped in sharply as a similar blush dusted your cheeks as well.

"I love you too Ochako, but I'm afraid that isn't what I wanted to confess. At least, not yet," you responded awkwardly, rubbing your thumb across the back of her hand.

"H-huh, then what is it then," she questioned loudly. If her blush could get any brighter it certainly did when she realized you reciprocated her feelings yet planned on telling her something else instead.

Gently releasing her hold, you reached down into your bag to hand her Mr. Mochi.

"I'm sorry, but my dog got to him before I could. I tried to sew him up, but if this ruins things between us, I understand," you confessed, looking down at the floor once again in fear of her response.

Silence overtook the two of you as you expected the worst, but suddenly an angelic laughed filled the empty silence.

"He smells like you now, with a hint of dog, but this will make him an even better cuddle buddy at night. Thank you (Y/N)," she responded cheerfully as she squeezed the bear to her chest.

Looking up in shock, you sighed out in relief. "Ahh, I was so worried I would lose you," you exclaimed before wrapping your arms around her in a tight hug.

"Mr. Moshi is old (Y/N), this isn't the first time he's had to undergo surgery. I'm just glad that you feel the same and took the time to fix him up. He means a lot to me, but not as much as you do," she responded cheerfully as she wrapped her free arm around you.

Picking up the scent of the bear between the two of you, you were glad you spritzed it with your perfume after all. Maybe she'll let you be her cuddle buddy instead one of these days.
