Hisashi Yamada (Present Mic)

"Back again, Midnight," you teased upon seeing your coworker enter U.A's library.

"I blame you (H/N). You got me hooked on this series," she exclaimed before handing you the book she checked out just the other day.

"I always knew you were a hopeless romantic," you joked while marking the book as returned on your computer.

"Don't try to act like you don't have it worse than me. I see the way you eye Mic," she cooed, pleased at your shocked expression.

"Is it that obvious," you whispered, hoping no one in the library heard Midnight's comment.

"Oh, it's very obvious. At least to everyone except the big goof himself. Gosh, what do you see in him anyways," she questioned, leaning on your desk.

"Well, I've known him for quite some time now. He may be loud and a bit obnoxious sometimes, but he's so generous and funny. He never fails at bringing a smile to my face, especially with those dance moves of his," you giggled out at the thought of his dancing.

"Wow, you have it bad. You gotta confess," she squealed out, gripping your hands tightly.

"What? No way, there's no way he'd feel the same," you squeaked out.

"Now you're just reciting lines from the novel. Come on, be like the main character and go get your man," she exclaimed.

"But I'm not like her. I don't have the guts," you mumbled out.

Sighing, she released your hands and stood back up.

"Fine. But if you don't confess soon, I'll do something about it," she said mischievously.

Gulping you shook your head quickly. "Please don't do anything too rash! I-I'll come up with something," you rushed out, stuttering at the idea of confessing.

"I'll give you a week. But then I get to step in and add my charm," she said slyly after checking out the next book in the series.

Watching as her form left the library, you hunched over in your seat and released the breath you didn't realize you were holding in.

"What am I going to do," you mumbled out before pulling out your notepad and scribbling out a plan.

Day 1

Carrying a load of books down the hallway, you made your way towards your destination.

Stopping outside of Present Mic's classroom, you looked at your watch and began to count down the seconds until you make the next move in your plan.

5...4...3...2...1

A loud bell rang out and the door to his classroom swung open. Jumping forward quickly, you "accidentally" bumped into the hero, knocking all the books from your hands and leading you to fall forward.

Before you could hit the ground, a pair of lanky arms wrapped around you and held you up.

"(H/N)! Sorry, I didn't see you there," a loud voice hollered out and the hero lifted you back on your feet.

"I'm s-so sorry Mic! I'll try to be more careful next time," you rushed out, before reaching down to pick up the books off the floor. As you reached for a book, a hand brushed against your own before picking it up.

"Need any help carrying those? I'm on break right now," he asked while helping you pick up the rest of the scattered books.

"I could always use an extra hand in the library department. Thank you," you giggled out, holding the books close to your chest.

"No problem at all," he replied with his own handful of books as he walked back to the library with you.

Day 2

Sitting at your desk, you scribbled out ideas on your notepad, wondering how you could get closer to Mic without having to damage any more books in the process.

"Hey (H/N)," a loud voice broke you out of your dazed state.

Looking up in shock, Present Mic stood before you smiling widely.

"Mic, what brings you down here," you questioned while hiding your notebook under your desk, really hoping he didn't see all the hearts and doodles of him on the paper.

"You said the other day that you could always use some help in your department. I'm free right now, so I thought I could help out a little," he exclaimed, his bright smile never faltering.

"Oh! Uh, if you don't mind, I can teach you how to organize the bookshelves. Sometimes students just don't know how to put their books back properly. It's gotten quite messy recently I'm afraid," you sighed out, thinking about all the work you've been neglecting while daydreaming about the man before you.

"Show me the way (H/N), and I'll try my best," he responded, surprisingly gentle this time. It was a pleasant surprise to hear his voice not so loud. Blushing slightly, you rose from your desk and directed him to the bookshelves.

For the rest of his break, you taught him how to organize the bookshelves and clean the dirty books. What is usually a boring and tiresome job for you became fun as the two of you joked around.

Day 3

"Back again," you questioned, noticing as Mic walked through the library doors.

"Of course! I'm always here to help," he responded cheerfully.

Smiling brightly at him, you watched as he attempted to ride the book cart towards the bookshelves.

The rest of the week followed a similar pattern. Present Mic would come in every day during his break to help you organize the library. Every day you could feel your feelings deepen for him as he continued to make you smile.

When Friday came along, instead of seeing Mic walking into the library for his break, you saw Midnight.

"Ahh Midnight, this book took you longer to read than the rest," you teased yet froze up upon seeing her devious smile.

"On the contrary. I finished the book a while ago, I was just giving you and Mic sometime to bond. So, have you confessed yet," she questioned.

Gulping, you realized that today was the last day until Midnight would get involved in your love life.

"N-not yet," you stumbled out.

"You have until the end of the day (H/N), then I have free reign of the situation," she said before smirking at your flustered state.

"Hey (H/N) and Midnight. What's up," Present Mic yelled as soon as he walked into the library.

"Oh, nothing. Just talking about a novel with (H/N)," Midnight responded, winking in your direction.

"Hey Mic, you here to help again," you asked, still a bit flustered due to the situation.

"Yep, I'll get started on the science fiction section. You two have fun," he said before riding the cart into a nearby section.

"Good luck (H/N)," Midnight said before handing you her book to return along with the next book in the series.

Returning the book and checking out the next, you handed it to her nervously.

"Thanks," you mumbled out as she chuckled and left you two to care to the library.

Heading towards the section Present Mic was in, you watched as he stuck his tongue out in concentration while looking for the spot the book he held belonged in.

It was adorable really, and you stared awestruck while watching.

"This goes here, right (Y/N)," he questioned, snapping you out of your daze.

"R-right, Dewey decimal system, remember," you reminded him.

"Right," he shouted proudly and continued to place the books into their spots as you helped him.

"Hey Mic," you mumbled out, questioning how you were going to phrase the next part.

"Yeah?"

"Would you happen to be busy tonight," you questioned quietly as you stared at the book in your hand in embarrassment.

"Nope, I'm off duty tonight unless some emergency happens," he responded, using his "librarian voice" as you liked to call it.

"W-would you be interested in joining me for dinner then? There's a nice Italian restaurant near my apartment," you choked out, still staring intently at the book. A bright blush coated your checks as you waited for his response.

"Woah, (Y/N), are you asking me out on a date," he questioned loudly.

Nodding your head quickly, you looked up in his direction at the sound of a groan.

"Great, now I owe Midnight $20. I was supposed to ask you out first silly," he exclaimed before flashing you with his signature smile.

"W-what?! Y-you like me back," you yelped, surprised at his response.

"Of course I do! You're a total babe after all. Plus you're really fun to be around. I really enjoy your company, so I'd love to go out with you tonight," he said excitedly as a light blush dusted his cheeks.

Your face began to burn as you stared at the man before you. But before you could even respond, he let out a loud gasp.

"Oops, breaks over! I'll swing by after work for our date. See ya later (Y/N)," he hollered as he headed quickly towards his classroom.

"I'm going on a date with Present Mic...who returns my feelings...yet owes Midnight money," you breathed out loud, trying to process the information you just gathered.

"Midnight!" You hollered out before running out the library in search of the culprit who did, in fact, mingle in your love life.
