Enji Todoroki (Endeavor)

Note: This takes place back when Endeavor was a first year at U.A.

"I will be the number 1 hero (Y/N), just you wait," said your childhood friend Enji Todoroki for the hundredth time.

"Yeah yeah, keep telling yourself that Enji," you sighed, getting slightly annoyed at the topic. He use to be a pretty cool guy to hang around until the two of you started U.A. together. He developed some rivalry against your fellow classmate Toshinori Yagi, and now all he talks about is how he will surpass him.

"I'm not kidding, I would do anything to beat that fool," he responded coldly, glaring straightforward as the two of you walked to class.

"Hmph, you never kid about anything. Well don't forget about me when you become number 1, or else I'll kick your ass and replaced you," you said, nudging his muscular arm as you winked at him.

Glaring down at you, he grunted but you knew deep down inside he cared.

Walking into your classroom, you made your way to your seat beside Enji and began to prepare for the lesson.

"Attention class, today you will be coming up with your hero names. Please think this through as this will give citizens an idea of what type of hero you will be to them," your teacher announced, receiving an excited shout from the majority of the class.

Staring down at the blank card in front of you, your mind swarmed with potential names, but none of them seemed to click just yet. Looking over to your seat mate, you considered asking him for an idea.

"Hey Enji, have you come up with a hero name yet," you questioned, leaning over to see his also blank card.

"Not yet. I want it to have meaning, to show to everyone that I will give my all at what I do to be the very best," he responded, staring intently at the card in front of him.

"Hmm, sounds like you just defined the word endeavor... Wait, that's the perfect hero name for you," you exclaimed excitedly with a bright smile on your face.

"Endeavor. Hmm, I like the sound of that," he responded, smiling gently in your direction.

It was a rare case to see a smile on the borderline heartless boy beside you,  but whenever he did show it, your heart never failed at skipping a beat.

Blushing lightly, you looked away.

"Now I just need to come up with a hero name for myself," you sighed, looking down at your card once again.

"Ideal, quintessential, exceptional. Pretty much any synonym for perfect would best suit you," he responded flatly, resting his cheek on his hand as he stared at you.

"P-perfect? Me? Ha, you must be kidding," you stuttered in embarrassment, laughing awkwardly as your flushed face stared wide eyed at him.

"Like you said earlier, I never kid. You're perfect in my eyes after all," he responded nonchalantly once again before returning his gaze to his card and writing the name you helped him pick out on it.

"Perfect...," you whispered out, returning your gaze to your card.

"I don't think I would feel comfortable with so many people calling me that as my hero name," you thought aloud, not wanting to sound so supercilious.

"Then let me alone call you that," Enji spoke, startling you from your train of thought.

Your cheeks flared with heat at his comment as you stared in shock at your friend.

"I wouldn't mind that actually," you breathed out, looking away.

"Good, cause there's no way in hell I would allow for Toshinori or anyone else for the matter to see your face so flustered. That expression belongs to me and me alone," his sultry voice said loud enough for only you to hear as he leaned in closer.

And he was right. No one else could get you as flustered as him for the rest of your life.
