I didn't want to be a Half-blood. Honestly if I had the choice i'd give up everything to change that night.
My mom and I had never made much money. The money she did make went straight to my step dad Gabe and even though I didn't realize it she took a lot of the hits he had meant for me. My mom Sally Jackson was the best woman you would ever meet and worked tirelessly to keep me happy and safe. Until that is my tenth birthday.
Once she got off work we spent the day all around Manhattan. Visiting parks, comic shops, and restaurants. The took me to a movie that night. Looking back on it I wish I hadn't begged her so much to go.
"Please mom please" I begged "please please-"
"Fine" she said "we'll go see your movie"
"Yay!!!"
Even as she said that she had glanced around nervously her eyes settling on a dog across the street growling and sniffing the air.
"C'mon Percy let's hurry" she said "so we can make it back quick"
"Okay" I said she grabbed my arm pulling me away from the dog.

About partway through the movie I told my mom I wanted to leave. Not that I was scared or anything....okay I was a little scared.
"Are you sure?" She asked
"Yes" I whispered back following as she led the way out of the theater and to one of the side doors.
The night was chilly but not cold enough for more than a light jacket. The man that was waiting outside of the door was wearing a ski mask so all we could see were his eyes.
"Empty the purse" he growled at my mom
"There's nothing in here-"
"I said empty the purse" he pulled out a small object from his jacket. A gun.
"Okay okay" she said stepping in front of me.
"Mom" I whispered "what's gonna happen"
"We're gonna be okay Perce" she said
"Now give the earrings" he said "a-and the Ring"
She hesitated when she got to the ring. She had told me it was the gift from my dad.
"Now!" The man shouted sounding panicked.
"O-okay" she said pulling it off her finger and putting it in his hand.
A siren sounded.
"You called the police" he panicked
"No!" She said "how could I have-"
BANG BANG. Sally fell to the ground
"Mom" I yelled and collapsed to the ground next to her.
"Mom" I sobbed "come back"

I know this chapter happened fast and it is kinda badly written. Just bear with me the first few chapters my writing does get better.
Update- I just rewrite a little bit to make it a little more bearable 😂 I will go back and rewrite the first few chapters in the first book once I'm finished with the one in writing now. The plot won't change only the quality of writing. Thanks for bearing with me.
