"It really was a brilliant plan" I said "almost worthy of Athena"
"Watch it" Annabeth growled
It was all a set up. Anger filled me and I tried not to explode the ocean.
"Sorry Percy I know oh don't think that" she said
"I can't believe he set us up."
"Who" Grover asked
"Me goat boy" ares the god of war stood ten feet away.
"Your the only one who would want a war this bad." I said
"It was simple. Frame you for taking both the helm and bolt. Make good old dad mad at fish face. Then dead boy would not know who took his helm then he'd attack both of them."
"You'd start a war within your own family?" Annabeth asked
"Those are the best kind" he said "most blood"
"How'd you get the bolt in the bag?" I asked
"Same enchantment as the one on your sword." He said "now unfortunately punk i have to kill you"
A giant boar appeared and got ready to charge.
"You too scared to fight me by yourself?" I asked
"I'm a god I don't get scared"
"Not even when those whisperings started controlling you."
"What are you talking about"
"This wasn't your plan" I said "that thing in the pit is controlling you"
"Kill him"
The boar charged. I was done with this I uncapped riptide and swung down cutting off his tusk. The creature screeched and ran off.
"Fight me" I said
"Fine you want to die traditionally or modern" he asked
I raised riptide.
"Traditional then"
He put the helmet on his bike when it transformed into a bronze helmet.
"I win we get the bolt and helm." I said "and you go away. You win I'll be dead and oh get your war"
"Deal"
He charged with a double handed broadsword and I sidestepped.
Get close when you have the short weapon. Luke's voice said
I jabbed and got close but he expected that. I backed into the sea.
Sirens wailed and police officers appeared.
"Drop the guns" they yelled ares took one look at them and the cars exploded
'Little waves' I thought and small wave started to build up.
We continued farther into the ocean. I felt the pressure of the water building up.
"Wave" I yelled and a giant wave flew up.
As we came ashore I stabbed his foot. The ichor ran from his wound.
Suddenly his sword disappeared.
"You've made and enemy" he said and he grew.
"Don't look Percy" Annabeth yelled
I closed my eyes and felt heat. I realized he'd assumed his true form if I had looked I'd be a pile of dust. The heat and light receded and I opened my eyes.
"You did it" Annabeth yelled and she and Grover hugged me.
I looked back to the helm and saw the three furies there.
"Tell him what happened and return it" I said
"Become a hero Perseus Jackson" Mrs young said "or you won't see the day again."
They flew off and police officers started flooding the beach.
"We need to get back fast" I said "we need to fly"
"Percy is it safe"
"If Zeus wants the bolt he'd better give us a safe passage" I said
