At Denver we parted ways with Barbara but before she pulled me aside.
"I know Bruce is strict about your secret identity but it's okay to tell people."
"I'll keep that in mind."
"Bye Percy" she said
"Bye Barbara"

We found a diner fairly easily. We gave the lady our orders and I was about to hand over the money when A man came up.
"It's on me" he said and he handed her three drachmas. She paused "is there a problem?" He asked and her pulled out a knife.
"No" she ran off.
Who was this guy? Anger boiled inside me.
"Who are you?" I demanded
"Percy" Annabeth started
"Naw I like a little bite."
I frowned and then I realized.
"Your Clarisses dad." I said "ares"
"You got a problem with that?" He asked
"No" I said knowing he could turn me into a pile of Ash with one look.
"I need your help to get my shield." He said "if you do I'll get you a ride west."
"Fine where's the shield?"

I flipped off the gate.
"Show off"Annabeth said
I looked at her. Her hair was tangled and everywhere and her clothes were torn and dirty. Grove looked the same way. And I'm sure I did too. After buying the train tickets the diner would have been the last of our money.
"Look" Grover bleated
I followed his hand. The gift shop. Annabeth quickly found a tee shirt and a backpack.
"Are you sure we should be stealing?" I asked
"Percy this park is closed they aren't going to miss it." Annabeth pointed out
"Your right."
I grabbed a tee shirt and looked for anything else that was useful. I looked for any extra money and found five bucks lying near the cash register.
We walked through the park trying to find the 'tunnel of love' I cringed thinking about it.
"Easy" Annabeth said as we saw it.
"All right" I said "who's coming with me?"
"I'll go" Grover said
"No" I said after hesitating "we need you as backup. You can fly remember."
"Are you sure?" He asked
"Yeah" I said "come on Annabeth"
"You want me to go on that? With you?" She asked
"You won't die if you do" I said
"Fine"
We slid down and I heard her muttering about stupid boys.
I looked around a pink scarf was next to the shield. I reached for the shield. My hand hit something I thought it was a cobweb.
"Wait no!"
I realized it was a tripwire.
The cupids on the side raised their bows and aimed at each other and shot. Golden thread strung across like a net.
"Broadcasting live to Olympus in one minute."
The thread closed in.
"Come on" Grover yelled
We tried to climb up but the wall was too steep.
Little metal spiders suddenly came at us from all edges.
"Ahhhhhh" Annabeth screamed "spider"
"Get a hold of your self" I yelled
I looked for an escape.
"Twenty seconds." The voice said
"Grover go into the booth and hit on!" I yelled
"Ten"
He tried nothing happened. I thought about the ocean and moving it.
"Please dad" I whispered
Water flew out hitting the boat we were in.
"Live"
"We need to jump" I said when I saw the gate. "On my mark"
"No on my mark" she yelled "three...two...one!"
We hurtled into the air.
