The Storm

Nightmare stares down at the chaos below him in disinterest. The plan was simple, lure out the idiot heroes and then beat them into giving back the child who has helped them all heal.

However, Nightmare couldn't bring himself to join in on the destruction. His mind was split on either helping Dust, Horror, Killer, and Red destroy everything, or helping Error, Cross, and Black monitor the Anti-Void and void for any signs for the heroes, or maybe even the child they were looking for.

In the end, Nightmare stands above the chaos, feeding on the mass amount of negativity, and nothing more.

Suddenly, Error calls out to the rest, "LoOk OuT. ThEy'Re CoMiNg." Nightmare glances over at the center of the city they were currently terrorizing and smirks lightly as a large rainbow colored portal opens up.

Out of the portal steps Dream, Ink, Classic, G, Outer, and Ocean.

The heroes look around at the destroyed city in horror. Human bodies and piles of dust are scattered all around, large buildings were destroyed and crumbling, bits of magic attacks and human weaponry are scattered about.

"NIGHTMARE! STOP THIS, THIS INSTANT! THERE IS NO NEED FOR SO MUCH DEATH AND DESTRUCTION SIMPLY BECAUSE YOU LOST YOUR CAPTIVE!"

Killer glances over at the heroes in confusion. "Captive? Oh. Oh no, no, no. You misunderstand, hero. That child is part of our family. And you took them."

Dust growls from the corner as he suddenly lunges forward, his wide, insane eyes loved onto the god of positivity. However, before he could land his attack, a sword like bone blocks him. "Ey there mate, no need ta be so violent." Ocean says a small smirk on his face.

Dust quickly shifts his focus to Ocean and changes targets for his attacks. Ocean walks backwards, surprised at the intensity and power behind Dust's attacks. However, they were predictable and the pirate was able to block all the attacks fairly easily.

As soon as Dust lunged, Horror was quick to follow suit. The hero that blocked his path was Outer. The star themed monster quickly blocked the wild axe swing heading for Dream. "Hey, hey, hey! Hold on a minute bud. At least let the bros finish their conversation."

"Give us back (Y/N)." Horror growls and takes another intense swing at the alternate version of himself.

Red and killer glance at each other then at Black and the three nod simultaneously. G was going to be by far the most troubling of the heroes, so Red, Killer, and Black all simultaneously agreed to kick his butt together.

Red quickly began sending a wave of bones at the taller, fused skeleton as Black and Killer rushed either side of him.

The taller skeleton jumps back and sends his own bone attacks at Black and killer as a blaster comes flying at Red. "Now, that seems a bit unfair. Three on one?"

Red rolls his eyes as he easily maneuvers out of the way of the blaster. "More like three on two with how you work, lamppost."

Cross stares down at Classic quietly as the original looks around the growing intensity of battle around them. "Could we just, not fight? I really don't wanna have to put actual work into this."

"Give us back, (Y/N). That's all we want." Cross states dryly.

Classic blinks and tilts his head. "Ya know the kid's name?"

"Of course. They are a part of our family." Cross explains calmly, despite Chara screaming at him to kill Dream for hurting the child they now consider a sibling and taking them away.

Classic hums and turns around, sitting on the grass. "Come on. It'll be a while till they stop, and I don't know where they're keeping the kid. And even if I did, I don't got a way to get there."

Cross nods blankly as he sits next to Classic, watching the battles rage on, silently observing if any of his teammates need help.

Error glares down at Ink, clutching his strings tightly. "Oi, FrEaK. iF yA gIvE uS bAcK tHe KiD, wE'lL lEaVe. LeT aLl YoUr LiTtLe FrIeNdS gO tOo. We JuSt. WaNt. ThE kId."

"No way. What is with your guys's obsession with that kid, anyway?" Ink shoots back, as he slips out of Error's string's hold and shooting a blob of paint at Error.

Error turns to the side slightly and allows the attack to pass him by. "If YoU hAvE tO aSk, ThEn ExPlAiNiNg WoUlD bE uSeLeSs."

Dream stares down Nightmare, more unnerved than he has ever been when facing his brother. And that's simply because Nightmare isn't doing anything. He's not attacking him, or mocking him, or trying to manipulate someone. He's just, standing there.

"Are you happy?"

Dream takes a step back, confused. "What? Why would I-"

"You did it. You managed to take the one thing I cared about over everything else, again. Is this fun for you? Watching me suffer? Taking my happiness away from me again, and again?"

Dream shifts nervously as he could feel G, Outer, Ocean, Classic, and Ink all pause their fights to listen.

"First, you take them back to an abusive household because you didn't trust me not to hurt an innocent child. Then, you blame me for putting that child in a coma. And now, you've actively stolen that child from me after they've just woken up about a month ago today. So, once again. Are. You. Happy."

Dream looks around the destroyed city at a loss for what to do. This doesn't make sense. Nightmare is the bad guy. He always was.

He hurt the villagers for the slightest inconvenience. He lost his temper at everyone except him. He let his jealousy consume him and took the golden apples from the Tree of Feelings. He hurt and destroyed so many innocent universes.

So, why was he making it seem like Dream is the bad guy? And... Why does Dream feel like he's right...? Why does what he say make sense?

Dream falls to his knees as he clutches his skull, his breathing picking up at an erratic pace. What are these feelings? Why do they hurt? He's not allowed to feel like this. He's supposed to be happy. He's the good guy, right? ...Right...?

"Now, now Nightmare. There's no need to spread such lies. You are the villain after all, there's no need for you to torture your brother like this." Zelus says, calmly walking up to Dream.

Just as the god is about to touch Dream's shoulder, a skeletal hand grasps his wrist. Looking up, Zelus comes face to face with Death and a pissed off Life.

"Stop, Zelus. This feud is done. Let it go. Or else we'll make you." Death hisses out, tightening his grip.

At that moment Cross stands up and swings his sword, allowing a rift between universes to open up. And rushing through is a panicked Blue and an exhausted (Y/N) in his arms.

"LOOK HUMAN! WE MADE IT! YOUR PLAN WORKED!"

At that moment eight voices shouted out in unison the child's name, and the Bad Guy Sans' all rush up to the child.

Zelus grits his teeth and attempts to approach the group, only to feel a foot plant itself into his face and a fist plant itself into his stomach.

"He warned you." Life scoffs as Death picks up the now limp body of the god of rivalries.

Death glances over the confused heroes and sighs. "Come along, all of you. I think an explanation is in order."
