Dust walks down the hall. It's around 3 am and he can't sleep. Again.

"- You Really Should Rest Brother.-"

Dust growls lightly, ignoring his brother's input. What to do, what to do. Having a defenseless kid that was practically screaming Free EXP around the castle was bad enough, but having to take care of and bond with the kid? That's just impossible.

Dust sighs and walks into the kitchen, looking for something to drink.

"- Brother?-"

Dust jumps slightly and looks over at Papyrus.

"Sorry Bro. I'm just... Distracted."

Papyrus looks at him sympathetically.
"- You Are Worried About Getting Too Annoyed Around Them, Aren't You?-"

Dust tugs at his hood in distress. "Of course I am! I can barely keep myself sane around the others, but even then I slip up sometimes! And if I slip up around this one I'mma have my head served on a platter to the Boss!"

Papyrus floats off as he thinks. He floats around and through the kitchen. "- Hmmmm..... That Is A Tough One....-"

Dust smiles slightly at Papyrus. He chuckles lightly and wave a hand. "Don't worry about it Bro. It's not your problem."

Papyrus's eyes land on a bucket covered in tar with a few feathers that they had used to prank Horror earlier that month. His eyes light up as he suddenly appears next to Dust and bounces in place.

"- I'VE GOT IT!!-"

Dust falls out of his chair in surprise. He struggles to sit up, sputtering around a bit. "What?! Got what?"

Papyrus grins happily. "- How You Can Bond With The Human Of Course! Pranks!-"

Dust stares at his brother in confusion and concern. "...You want me to prank the Boss's kid? You do want me to survive today, right?"

Papyrus laughs, shaking his head. "- No, No No No. You Misunderstand Me Brother. I Am Suggesting That You And The Child Pull Pranks On The Others Together! You Know, As A Team!-"

Dust shifts into a sitting position, thinking about the proposition. True, it would be something he would enjoy. However, he should get to know the child before going through with the plan. He really shouldn't ally himself with a snitch.

Papyrus tilts his head "- Is Something Wrong With My Suggestion? -"

Dust sighs. "I like the idea, but I don't think that should be the first thing I do. Maybe... Well, Killer was watching movies and TV with the kid, right? Maybe I can play some videogames with them?"

Papyrus grins happily. "- Great Idea Brother! Who Knows, Maybe You'll Grow To Like This One? -"

Dust stays quiet. Papyrus stops and looks at Dust who seems to be unmoving and lost in thought.
"- Brother? -"

Dust glances up, humming in question.
"- Brother, Something Else Is Bothering You. What Is It? -"

Dust sighs. "It's really nothing. I just... I'm wondering what it would have been like if (Y/N) fell into the underground instead of that demon b*tch."

Papyrus looks at Dust sympathetically. If only he could hug his brother as he used to.

----

You were sitting in front of Dust very confused. Breakfast had ended about ten minutes ago and you two are just sitting here looking at each other.

You shift in your seat, obviously uncomfortable. You couldn't help it. This skeleton has a hard glare that reminds you way too much of him.

"U- Uhm... Mr. Dust? What are we going to do?"

Dust gets up and smiles slightly, offering you a hand. "Well, I was thinking that you and I could go play some videogames today and maybe try something else tomorrow."

You tilt you head in confusion. "Something else? Like what?"

Dust rolls his eyes. "I'll tell you that tommorow. Now come on." You nod and hesitantly take the skeleton's hand and let him drag you off to the living room where all the games are.

Red and Black are also in the living room playing some sort of card game. You asked Nightmare about it earlier and apparently Red and Black only stay at the castle a few hours a day. Apparently the rest of the time they're back at their home universe.

Red look up at you and smiles lightly, waving at you as Black gives you a nod and they go back to their game.

Dust plops down on the couch and pulls out two controllers to the game system and turns on the TV.
"Alright, here's the deal kid. We are about to play something called Skyrim."

"IF THE BOSS CATCHES YOU PLAYING THAT GAME WITH (Y/N) HE WILL HAVE YOUR HEAD."

Dust grumbles under his breath, obviously unhappy, but switches the game up. "Fine. How about Minecraft? That should be child friendly enough."

"*Yeah, Minecraft's fine. Just nothing too violent." Red absentmindedly comments as he glares at the hand of cards he was dealt.

Dust grumbles under his breath. He really wants to kill some stuff, but getting killed by Nightmare for it isn't worth it.

You look at the controller, slightly confused. The only other time you held one was when you first woke up and played Mario Kart with everyone.

You glance up at the screen and read the quick instructions on how to get into the game and soon enough you have a character on screen running around, exploring the new world of fantasy.

----

You laugh happily as you and Dust work together to gain the necessary materials to make a quick house, two beds and a furnace.

"Nonononononononononononono! Screw you you undead ffffffffffffffuuuuudge cicle."

You can't help but giggle at Dust's reaction to being killed by a zombie.

"Rise my friend! I have your things! Let us go slay those demons!" You cackle walking to your respawn point. An open sword in hand.

Dust smirks as his character runs up to you. "Gimmegimmegimmegimmegimmegimme!" Dust says quickly bouncing in place ready to avenge himself.

You open up your inventory and throw out all of Dust's items to him as he continues to chant 'gimme' to himself. As soon as he has all of his items he rushes off yelling, "THANK YOU! NOW DIE YOU GREEN UNDEAD PESTS! AHAHAHAHAHA FEEL THE WRATH OF MY SWORD!"

You giggle at Dust's outburst. He really isn't as scary as he seemed before. He's angry and violent, but it's actually really funny when he rages at things like videogames.

Dust cackles as he throws his hands up in victory. He just slew the last of the zombies in the horde. He only had one heart left when a whizzing of an arrow is heard and his character dies once again. Dust's victorious pose slumps down in shock and disbelief.

"What?! No! Why have you betrayed me my skeletal brethren?!?!"

You laugh as you run over and kill the skeleton and pick up Dust's items again. "Here, I'll get your stuff again ya goof." You giggle.

Dust grumbles and crosses his arms pouting like a child. You swear you could faintly hear something as Dust glares at a spot that seems to have a blurry figure there. "Shut it Pap. It's not my fault that the bonehead decided it'd be funny to kill me at my hour of victory."

You stare at Dust curiously, but decide against asking him and go back to the game, slightly unsettled.

Reaper looks over some paperwork he found on Gaster's desk. Being one of the only gods to have any knowledge of his existence has its perks.

As he looks through some of the papers, one in particular catches his eye.

"Oh no... Nightmare's not going to like this...."

He picks up a paper detailing a study on soul properties in relation to magical artifacts, such as the Tree of Feelings and it's fruit. One such entry shows a side effect of eating each apple and overexposure to an apple as well as the name of one of the test subjects.
