(Middle School BkDk)

Izuku woke up late for school again. It was eight-thirty on a Tuesday morning. The sky was bright and you could hear the birds serenading.

Izuku lazily sat up and put on his uniform. He looked in the mirror to see a mess before him. His hair was messy and tangled, his eyes weren't the bright and vibrant color they used to be. They were dull, gray, and lifeless to be completely honest.

He didn't want to be here, although he didn't know how to get out. He wanted to die but he couldn't, he tried over and over again. Nothing he did worked. Kacchan was right in saying he was useless, Izuku understood now. He knew why Kacchan labeled him as a useless Deku. He knew why he bullied him. He knew why he told Izuku to kill himself. It made sense.

Izuku put in him worn down red school and grabbed his school-bag. He quietly walked down the stairs, making sure not to wake his mother up.

Izuku made it to school by the time it was second period. He made it into class seemingly unnoticed by his classmates, and thank god for that.

———

"Midoryia, do you mind staying here after class for a bit?" Izuku's teacher asked reluctantly, leaning over Izuku's desk. Izuku gave him a quick nod as he watched his peers exit the classroom.

"I don't mind, what do you need?" He mumbled quietly, staring at his dirty red shoes.

His teacher signed and looked at his clipboard. "You've been late the past couple of days, you've been behind on homework, and you're grades have been dropping. I'm going to need to give you a after-school detention," he said hesitantly, "and I've noticed some bullying going on with your classmates. Although there is nothing I can do until you report it Midoryia."

Izuku's heart dropped. He didn't like being called out on the bullying with his classmates. Despite negative feelings towards his teacher already, what he was saying didn't even make sense in the slightest. He noticed bullying going on but didn't do anything and won't do anything. To make it all so much better he now has a detention.

Izuku's teacher starred right through him. He didn't exist to these people, he was the quirkless boy everyone made fun of, or was ignored by. So Izuku did was he did best and pretended.

He told his teacher he was fine, he told him no bullying was happening, just jokes. Of course they both knew he was lying, but it did make one of their lives much easier so they both went along with it.

Izuku picked up his belongings and went along with the rest of his day. Then detention came, and so did he. (A/N I don't know if I'm just immature but it autocorrected from 'the' to 'he' and that's fucking hilarious so I'm keeping it)

———

Izuku quietly walked into detention. Desks were cramped next to one another, stacked chairs filled the back wall, and cleaning supplies were stored in the cabinets near the doorway.

Izuku looked over and saw many first and second year students scattered about. He noticed Kacchan too, but he already expected him to be here.

Kacchan got in trouble a lot. He was their middle school's golden boy who could do no wrong. Although he did get detention every other day. It was a confusing system to be sure, but it was only best to play along.

Izuku timidly walked over to the corner of the classroom where he noticed another quirkless boy in his grade. He sat down in the chair beside him not saying anything.

"Hey Deku what are you in here for?" Katsuki snarled, "Didn't know you had the guts to do anything wrong."

All the boys in the room aside from the quirkless kid next to him laughed.

He was obviously being bullied by them too, but Katsuki mainly picked on Izuku so he was a much bigger target. Izuku understood why the other quirkless kids didn't stand up for him though, it wasn't because they didn't want to, he knew they wanted to. The look in their eyes told Izuku they wanted to help him. Although, everyone at school knew hanging out with Izuku meant you were going to be automatically teased and made-fun of. It was just how it was, I guess.
