Chapter 2 - Bill Fucking Compton

Bill Compton. The vampire her own sister has fallen head over heels in love with. The vampire whose blood she drank and is now having weird dreams about. The vampire who Marilyn was coming to dislike rather quickly.

After an hour of sitting in the booth and hearing Sookie recall the events that have been happening over the last few days. Maudette Pickens and Dawn have both been murdered and the whole town thinks its Jason because he slept with both – typical out of all the women in town the ones that had to be murdered were of course the ones her brother had slept with. Talk about bad luck. Sookie then went on to explain how she and Bill went to vampire club called Fangtasia. Where coincidently the vampire who owns the bar needs her help. Marilyn was taken aback by that piece of information, what made Sookie think that Marilyn was going to help a vampire.

"So, what do you think?" Sookie asked pulling Marilyn out of her overwhelming thoughts.

"About what? Helping some vampire?"

"His name is Eric, and someone has been stealing money from his bar and he needs our help finding out who did it and I thought since you can read vampires minds you might be able to help."

"Seriously Sookie, I come out all this way after not seeing you for 5 years and the first thing you ask of me is to read some vampires mind to see whose been stealing his money. Most sisters ask about work or anything except that."

"We're not most sisters."

"Yeah, I know." She said sullenly, silently wishing they were normal. Marilyn wished that when she came home it wasn't 'Hey sis I've met a vampire and now I'm in love' but 'Hey Mary how's life in New York' and 'I'm dating Sam who's a totally normal guy'. Marilyn would give anything to be normal. Too not have to constantly drink to keep the ghosts at bay and to not constantly be surrounded by death. But then again Marilyn's life has never been normal.

Her and Sookie continued to talk as they drove home to Gran's house. She couldn't wait to see the woman who had raised. As soon as the car stopped Marilyn jumped out of the yellow tin can and ran up the porch steps as fast as she could. She charged straight into the kitchen remembering that's where Gran use to spend most of her time, only to find it empty. Marilyn ran around the rest of the house in search of the old woman but found no one. Marilyn turned to find Sookie standing in the living room with a look of despair on her face.

"I was going to tell you. I promise."

"How?" Marilyn turned her eyes to the newly polished floor looking away from Sookie; Gran loved a clean floor. The memories of seeing Gran always cleaning this house brought tears to her eyes. Gran loved this house it was her pride and joy, she loved it almost as much as all the Stackhouse siblings. Marilyn couldn't believe that someone had hurt her, let alone kill her.

"She was murdered like Dawn and Maudette. Bill thinks the killer was really after me but since I wasn't home, he killed Gran."

At that moment Marilyn bust of into a fit of laughter, the idea that this was all Sookie's fault was truly ironic. She always thought she was the reckless one and would end up getting someone she loved hurt. But no, the golden child Sookie Stackhouse has actually out done her. She had gotten one of the only people in Marilyn's life who still loved her killed, all because she was in love with vampire Bill. Honestly.

Once the laughter had started to die down Marilyn lifted her head to look Sookie in the eye, the look of mortification was across Sookie's face. She looked truly horrified by Marilyn's reaction to the news of Sookie being the reason Gran is dead.

"I'm sorry" Marilyn said whilst making her way over to the sofa. Once she had taken her seat on the flower printed couch she continued "I just find it hilarious that you're the one causing trouble and not me."

"Causing trouble?! You call Gran's death causing trouble. Seriously?!"

"Well, it was your fault." Sookie opened her mouth trying to defend herself when Marilyn held up her hand to stop her "Also let's address the fact that you didn't even hint at Gran being dead, you let me come all the way out here thinking she's still alive."

"I'm sorry about that but I couldn't tell you over the phone. It only happened two days ago I thought it better to just wait and tell you in person."

"That recent? Well, the Kitchen looks spotless Gran would be very proud".

"How do you know it happened in the kitchen?"

"Ghosts talk. They're huge gossips."

Now it was Sookie's turn to laugh but it quickly stopped. "I miss her Marilyn. I miss waking up to the smell of Gran cooking breakfast. I should have been here."

Marilyn took a moment before responding "If You were here, I would have lost you too. I wouldn't be able to handle losing Gran and you. You may annoy me Sookie but I still love you."

"I love you too sis."

Marilyn put her arm around her sister and pulled her into a hug. They stayed like that for a while until both eventually fell asleep on the couch.

The next morning went by fast and before they knew it, it was night again. Sookie and Marilyn had spent most of the day outside sitting in the sun on the Barca loungers listening to country music. Later, Sookie had asked if Marilyn had thought about helping Eric the owner of fangtasia, she had been reluctant at first, but Sookie managed to sway her by saying she would be doing her a huge favour.

As soon as the sun set and there was no more light to be seen from the sky, a knock came at the door. Sookie was still busy getting ready although Marilyn had no idea why. Unless Sookie was suddenly in love with Eric as well as Bill. The idea that Sookie had two vampires wrapped her finger made Marilyn laugh. She made her way to the front door of the house wondering who was coming to visit at this hour. Marilyn pulled open the door only to see a man who looked about 100 years behind in fashion, this must be Bill she thought. He looked like the kind of man she could see her sister with. Bill just stood there confused probably because he had expected her sister to answer. Marilyn wondered if Sookie had told Bill about her.

"Hello, is Sookie home?" Bill asked politely. Awww he's a gentleman, how sweet.

"Yes. And you are?" Marilyn asked already knowing the answer.

"Bill. Bill Compton. You must be Sookie's sister she said you were coming to visit."

"Yep, that's me. The third Stackhouse sibling."

"Bill!" She heard Sookie shout from the top of the stairs. God, Marilyn thought this is the sort of stuff that only happened in the movies. Sookie made her way down the stairs in a knee length white dress, she looked like a bride.

Marilyn quickly ushered the two out of the house because the sooner they got to this vampire club and helped find whoever stole the money, the quicker Marilyn could get away from Bella and Edward over there.

They quickly arrived at the club called Fangtasia. All three of them made their way in, Bill with his arm around Sookie's waist and Marilyn close behind. Fangtasia looked like a typical vampire club, the walls where red and black, two stripper poles in the middle and then right up on the stage was a huge throne; I wonder who sits there? Halfway through the door into Fangtasia Marilyn had to stop, the club was erupting with voices of the dead, both ghost and vampire. She hadn't been somewhere this loud in months, her head already feeling like some had put a jackhammer to her skull, she tried to concentrate hoping it would quiet down the noise. After standing there in the doorway with a scrunched look on her face she realised it was no good and made her way to the bar. She quickly moved behind the bar looking across each row for the bourbon. She sensed someone come up behind her but paid no attention to them, she really needs this drink. There. Marilyn crouched down and grab the bottle of alcohol, she turned around to grab a glass to pour the liquid into but instead was greeted by a god. A tall man with shoulder length blonde hair and muscles coming out of every limb was looking at her. She expected him to say something but instead he just put a glass down in front of her. She poured her alcohol of choice into the glass and drank it down in one go.

"Better?" So, the blond giant speaks, good to know.

"Yes much."

"You must be Sookie's sister" he said with a smirk across his face.

"You're not the first person to say to me tonight."

"It's a pleasure to meet you miss Stackhouse."

"Oh, you're Eric."

"So, Sookie told you about me. What exactly did she say?"

"That you owned a vampire bar and someone's being stealing your money."

"And I've been told that you can help me."

"Maybe I can." Marilyn said hoping to preserve a sense of mystery.

"Oh, you defiantly can." Eric said with a smirk on his face.

This man was trouble and for some reason that made him that much more appealing to her. After scanning Eric from head to toe, she only had one thought.

Let's find who stole this money.
