Chapter Ten

Chapter Ten: Nova's Determination

"Hey, Nova. These friends of yours?" She nods. "Yeah. This is Ellie and this is Joe. We're basically celebrating my first acting." He smiles, "That's cool. May I join ya group?" Joe immediately accepts his offer, possibly his once in a lifetime chance to be around the legendary rock. Not knowing that this muscular man is friends with Nova. "Sure man. You can join us in our celebration."

As the celebration goes on, enjoying their yummy sundaes along with conversations between each other. There were constant interruptions with a few fans that noticed Johnson as they walked by to order their sweets. "Oh don't mind them, Nova. You'll be dealing with the same type of fans soon when your time arrives." He informs Nova, seeing her expressions that she's still unnoticed. Before the Rock leaves, he pats her upper arm. "Just keep working hard Nova. Never doubt yourself. Hope to see ya later and it's nice to meet your friends." Her friends, Ellie and Joe say goodbye while waving then turn at Nova. "You're so lucky Nova. You're friends with the legend, The Rock. How does that feel for ya?" She's unsure, besides one feeling. "I only wish I could be noticed the way I notice my heroes."

It was getting nearly late, the group decides to head to the motel for resting. Ellie and Joe immediately fall asleep from the long day while Nova is restless, wondering what she'll do now that she's no longer needed in the production. Probably not even needed on the movie opening night either. One thing for sure, there is something that Nova has to do before she leaves...

"I need to prove them wrong. I can be useful. I am more than a little useless line!

The next day, shiny bright, Ellie wakes up to a nice amount of energy then turns to discover an empty bed. "Nova?" She turns to see Joe sleeping sloppy in his bed, of course. Getting out of bed, Ellie checks the other rooms that are part of their rented space, not finding Nova anywhere. Immediately rushing to Joe to wake him up, the stubborn sleeper looks up. "What? Why are you waking me from my beauty sleep?" She sighs. "Oh, goodness sake. Men don't need beauty sleep. I'm waking you up because Nova's missing, Joe."

Joe jumps out of bed, forcing himself to wake up easily due to the fact that his friend is missing. First, they search the entire motel, no luck. Next, they search the area of a few visiting locations that Nova could possibly be, no luck either. This time they chose to get some help, by her celebrity friends. Heading straight for the production set that's currently in session. Once they arrive, Ellie and Joe become stopped by security. "We need to see Mr. Johnson sir, please. Our friend, his friend Nova has gone missing. We really think she's going to do something crazy. We need his help. Please!"

"Is there a problem here officer?" A tall, and muscular man questions while walking up to the officer and two distressed teens. "These two kids claim that your friend is missing, someone name Nova, Mr. Dwayne Johnson." He crosses his arms. "Yes. I have a friend name, Nova Daryl. What has happened to her, young ones?" The two explain that they woke up to find Nova's bed empty and nowhere to be found anywhere in the motel or town. This worries him, requesting to join them in the search. Emily Blunt, his actress partner overhears and wants to offer a hand as well. Accepting her offer swiftly, the four hop into a car and begin driving around the town to search again. Emily decides to get into a different car to search for other areas, further away from the city with a phone to stay in contact with them. They split up, two cars, Emily by herself while Johnson takes the teens with him.

No luck at all in the small city or town for the small group, neither for Emily by car. She parks her car in the beach tourist parking lot and searches by the beach, the less populated areas as she walks on foot. No sign yet for a few minutes until with a pair of binoculars, she spots a female, a young brown-haired at the top of a very green grassy cliff. Looking closely with the binoculars, Emily gets a closer image of who it is. She gasps, "Its Nova!"

She calls Dwayne on her phone, alerting him of Nova's whereabouts and the possible situation. "Alright. We're on our way!"
