Chapter Seven: Spirit Isn't Enough

As the weeks go by, it was just as Nova would, no it's more than what she imagined it to be on a set. A small line she has yes but everything around her and the people she's working with, amazing. During the break, close to the end of shooting for the day, Nova walks around until a conversation with Dwayne's voice catches her attention. Hearing it from a hiding spot distance, Nova listens in on his conversation. Not entirely sure what it's about, however she understood the negative and what the mentioning of her was being told. Hurtful it sounds, very hurtful...

"I'm sorry Mr. Johnson, even a young woman's high spirit isn't enough for what you're thinking of. Miss Daryl isn't ready for anything bigger than the simple line that she was given. She's just lucky that she got in but neither luck nor her spirit isn't enough to change her line to a more active character in this film. I'm sorry sir." His manger with both the director and screenwriter on his side agreeing that they can't accept Dwayne's ideas of having Nova do any other line besides her short tourist line...

Not too far, actually pretty close, Nova hides behind one of the camera equipment and hears everything. Breaking part of her spirit that she is simply just a backup. A piece of a puzzle that is just going to be thrown back in the box once finished and forgotten. While hearing Dwayne question more about why they hesitate to give Nova any other lines. "She has fear. This production, you can't show fear and miss Daryl is a package full of them. Like I said, she's lucky to even be here right now."
