The Call

"Sir please. Your pacing is making me dizzy." Alfred said standing in his butler way watching Bruce walk back and forth in front of the phone with his hand on his chin.

"What if I scarred her off Alfred?"

"Sir I don't think I've ever seen you this nervous..... how marvelous!" Bruce gave Alfred an annoyed look.

"Master Bruce I saw how she looked at you before she left. She will call, she's probably just nervous. I would be more worried if she's fallen in love with Batman." Alfred messed with his mustache and closed his eyes in thought as he talked. Bruce shot his head around and starred at his butler.

"I'm joking."

"She's special Alfred. I want to see more of it.... more of her." Bruce stopped and rubbed his eyebrows.

"What is wrong with me."

"You fancy her sir. That is quit obvious."

"Thanks." Bruce rolled his eyes. Suddenly the phone rang and Bruce and Alfred jumped at it at the same time. Alfred grabbed Bruce's caller of his shirt and pulled him back.

"No Master Bruce! It's my job to answer the phone!"

"You are relived of your post for now Alfred!" Bruce yelled back as he pulled.

"You sound to desperate sir! Let me answer!" Alfred swung Bruce away and reached for the phone. He picked it up just as Bruce turned.

"Hello Wayne residence. Oh Ms. Y/n so nice to hear from you." Bruce's hands were inches away from Alfred's neck before he froze.

"Oh? Is that so? Well I'm vary glad to hear it and I know Mr. Wayne will be as well....yes I'm sure. We were beginning to worry you had decided to not attend.... Two bank robbers?! Oh dear..... Batman? Well it sounds like you had an eventful day." Alfred was starring at Bruce the hole time and when the robbers came up he rose and eye brow at him and smiled.

Well I'm glad your safe and that your friend got her purse back.... yes.. alright. Have a great evening Ms. Y/n. Bye bye." Alfred sat the phone and turned to Bruce who was starring at him.

"She shall be arriving on Friday for the meal sir." Bruce did something that honestly shocked Alfred. Something that he hadn't seen since Bruce was a child. Bruce sat back and pumped the air with his fists.

"Yes!" He yelled out. Alfred stared at him holding back a chuckle. He felt younger seeing Bruce act like a kid even if it was just a moment.

"Shall I speak with your chefs sir?"

"Yes Alfred! Thank you." Bruce turned and quickly walked to the clock that led to the cave.

"If I may ask, what shall you be doing this evening sir?"

"Cleaning the cave."

"What?!"

"I need to keep busy or I'll go made waiting for Friday!" He yelled as he closed the hidden door. Alfred stared at the clock and started to rub mustache.

"I fill like I should start ordering wedding magazines...." He mumbled as he headed for the kitchen.
