The After Joke - Part 2

Your P.O.V
Your scream lasted for a short while but, after finding yourself still unharmed, you looked up in confusion.  As your arms lowed themselves from your eyes, the Joker, seeing your fear, laughed.  "Oh Y/N how I've missed you."  He said.  Through your blurred vision, you saw your phone with a gaping bullet hole in it, dead.  You wiped away the tears blurring your vision and looked over at the security guard.  The Joker followed your gaze.

You swallowed nervously.  "W-what did you do to him?"  You asked.  The Joker walked around you and over to the man, poking his face.  The guard had died smiling.  His face, twisted with his teeth showing.  A smile like that of the Joker's.  You shivered and looked away.

The Joker quite poking the man and looked at you, tilting his head.  "So how bout a final chance with that deal huh?"  You shook your head, to scared to speak.  The Joker frowned and stood up.  "So that's the way it's gonna be huh?"  Then he smiled.  "How bout we take a walk to clear your mind?"  Taking your by your hair, the Joker yanked you up, training the gun to you head.

The Joker pulled you though the halls of the company building and down to the main lobby.  You gasped as you saw Harley and a few masked goons holding other staff members hostage.  "No!"  You yelled, struggling.  The Joker yanked your hair and you were silenced. "Now."  The Joker said, letting go of your hair.  "We can do this the easy way... Or the hard way."  The Joker aimed the gun at one of the staff, a secretaries.

"N-No please!  I have a wife, adopted kids!  Don't let them loose another mom-". The Joker shot her in the head and you covered your mouth with your hands to prevent yourself from throwing up.  The women dropped to the floor, the blood running out and mixing with her smeared makeup.  The Joker turned back to you.  "For every time you refuse my offer, one of these lovely volunteers dies!"  He said laughing.

Harley joined in the laughter, pulling out a knife and putting at a security guard's neck.  "Yea sweetie."  She said.  "And the next ones won't end so nicely."  The Joker grinned as you stared blankly at the floor in shock.  "Now now Y/N..."  He said, pacing around you.  "You can save them all.  Just give me the goods."  You closed your eyes tight, letting the tears run out.  "I-I can't!  You'll use them for bad!"

Harley sliced the neck of the security guard.  Blood spilling all over the staff and goons.  He cried out in pain before falling to the floor, creating a growing puddle of blood.  "Stop!"  You cried out.  The Joker played with his gun. "I'll... I'll..."  You couldn't finished the thought.  Helping the Joker would go against all your morals.  Everything you stood for.  But people's lives were at stake.  You had to choose between them and your own wants.

Luckily, you didn't have to make up your mind.  Just before you opened your mouth, the glass above the main entrance shattered and the famed Batman swung in, followed by his accomplice, Robin.  The Joker grabbed you before you could run and held you as you watched the dynamic duo fight the goons.  The goons were no match for the dark knight as he slammed his fist into their faces, dodging or blocking their attacks.

"Go get the car Harley!"  Joker yelled to his accomplice.  "Sure thing Mr. J!"  She yelled.   Frowning, she took off running in the opposite direction of the main battle, toward the back entrance.  Robin tried to follow her but was blocked by more goons appearing from the shadows.  Although they were outnumbered, they certainly weren't outs killed.  The two kicked down everything that came at them, defeating all who stood in their way.  Soon, it was only the Joker left.

"Robin."  The dark knight said.  His voice was deep and gravely but it oddly reminded you of someone.  "Take the remaining staff outside."  Robin opened his mouth to protest but Batman turned.  "Go!"  He said in a slightly louder voice.  Robin closed his mouth and nodded solemnly.  Helping one of the former prisoners up, Robin helped take them away.  You closed your eyes in relief as you heard the sound of police pulling up.

Unfortunately, it wasn't over yet. "Come to ruin the fun Batsy?  We were just getting started!"  Joker said, giggling.  He aimed the gun at your head.  "Stop."  Batman said, taking a step forward.  The Joker clicked his tongue and waved his gun in warning.  "I wouldn't do that if I were you."  He said menacingly.  "Come any closer and little Ms. Dehai gets it."  Batman squinted his eyes.  "You won't do that."  He said, taking another step closer.  "You need her don't you? That's why you came isn't it?"  The Joker laughed.

"I don't need to keep her.  There are ... What's the term?  Ah! plenty of other fish in the market."  The clown laughed at his own joke.  His haunting laughs echoing through the open lobby.  Batman's scowl deepened.  He remained silent but didn't dare take another step.  The Joker chuckled.  "Rather careful today aren't we? That's unusual..."  The Joker looked from you to Batman and back, a grinch-like smile growing on his face.  "Unless... You know each other a bit more personally?"

You scrunched up your nose in confusion.  You couldn't think of anyone you knew who could be behind the mask.  "No answer?"  The Joker said, narrowing his eyes slightly.  "Well then let's test the theory shall we?"  Before you could react, the Joker slammed the gun next to your head and pulled the trigger.

Your ears rung and the gun smoke filled your wet eyes, making them sting.  You let out a small shriek and pulled your hands close to your face.  For a moment, everything seemed to so dead silent, only breaking when the Joker began to laugh.  You looked out of the corner of your eye at the madman in fear.  He was howling with laughter, clutching his side with his free hand.

You looked at his other hand with the gun.  The gun's trigger had indeed been pulled but the only thing that was released was a small pole with a flag on the end reading 'bang bang' on the end of it. The Joker leaned over to catch his breath and pointed at Batman.  "The look on your face!"  You glanced over to Batman, standing frozen.  His eyes were slightly wider and his hand was outstretched towards you.  You felt your cheeks turn slightly pink.

Noticing his awkwardness, the dark knight quickly put his hand down.  You suddenly felt yourself get tugged back and you felt something cold on your skull.  The Joker had aimed his gun, with the flag still in it, to your head.  "Wouldn't suggest running."  The Joker whispered to you as you tried to struggle.  "Next time I pull the trigger this pretty little yellow flag will be stained red in your skull."  You stopped struggling as the Joker made a little joke.  "I would say the experience is rather mind-blowing don't you think?!"  You felt your stomach drop on your chest as the Joker laughed once more and tightened his grip on you.

"That's enough  Joker."  Batman said, scowling and taking a step forward.  "If you kill her, you don't have anyone else to hide behind."  The Joker nodded.  "Perhaps.  But I am full of surprises."  Shoving you to the ground, The Joker aimed his gun at you, pulling the trigger once again.  This time, the flag shot out of the holster and into your chest.  You cried out in pain and clutched your stomach as blood began to seep out between your fingers.

As you screeched in pain, the Joker quickly pulled out a small device.  Batman ran at the Joker, fists clenched, but was stopped when the Joker waved his finger at him. "Might want to concentrate on your lady friend."  His finger pressed down on the device.  You heard a small click from the pole attached to the flag.  Soon you began to feel a horrible tingling sensation in your wound.

"What did you do?"  Batman yelled at him.  The Joker smiled as he began to walk toward the back entrance, hands in pockets.  "The flag's pole was filled with acid.  If you don't hurry, her precious little organs might turn to mush... Heck!"  He added, beginning to laugh again.  "They might just disappear altogether!"  Batman froze in his tracks at the Joker's words and turned to you.

By this time, you had begun to breath heavy, labored breaths, panicking.  Turning on his earpiece he quickly barked some orders.  "Robin.  Get you and Gordon in here!  Y/N is injured!" You cringed as a wave a pain rolled over you, tears screaming out steadily and you cried out.  You heard the door open and Robin, Gordon, and a few other officers filed in quickly.

Pointing to the goons, Gordon spoke to his associates.  "Arrest them and search the building for any other survivors!" "Yes Sir!"  They said in unison.  Gordon turned his head toward you as you let out another cry of pain.  "Commissioner, Robin."  Batman instructed.  "Hold her down while I remove the flag."  Robin immediately ran over and placed his hands on your arms.  "Shouldn't we wait for a medical team-". Gordon began, only to get cut off by Batman.  "There's no time!"

Gordon looked at you for a second before turning to Batman and nodding in defeat.  "Alright."  Gordon walked around and held down your legs and your lip quivered in fear.  "It's going to be ok."  Batman said, his unseeable eyes looking into your tear filled ones.  Placing one hand around your wound, Batman grabbed the flab and quickly yanked it out.  You screamed and your vision transitioned to black for a moment.  You kicked your legs and tried to lift your arms but you were held back by Robin and Gordon.

Batman placed his hand on your chest to hold it steady.  "Worst parts over."  He said reassuringly.  Reaching into his belt, he pulled out a small spray bottle and sprayed your wound.  Slowly, but surly, you felt the acid in your wound disappear and your thrashing subsided.  As your vision began to fade, you overheard Gordon talking over his com.  "Get the medic in here now!  We have a victim.  They need a blood transfusion.  I repeat. ....medic...now... Loosing too much blood..."  You felt your head go dizzy and you let it fall to one side.  Then of course, you blacked out.

A/N:   Sorry.  Had major writer's block for this chapter.  Didn't quite know what I wanted the Joker to do.  Hardest part was the dialogue.  I was working on it all week.  Anyway, hope to write more of my Deadpool X Reader this weekend also.  Stay amazing!
