The Visit

Other than capturing Cheetah, Diana's real intention in Gotham City was meeting her old friend, Julia Kapatelis. She was an archaeologist and a professor. For Diana, Julia was more like a mother figure to her.

At that time, she published a book and held tours in several cities because of her big sold out, including Gotham City. Just after Julia had finished with her busy day, filled by signing books and doing a talk show, Diana came for a visit at the café nearby. Not for the book, but for another matter.

"Congratulations, Julia."

"Ah, thank you, Diana. You're just in time! I've just closed my event. Have a seat, please."

Then, Julia took out a rose shaped bronze box and showed it to Diana. Inside, she saw a gold medallion with a rose carving in the center. It was The Rose Gold.

"The Rose Gold. One of the Virgin Queen's lost jewelries. During her reign, Queen Elizabeth I rarely left the court without it in her hand. According to her letters, the medallion was her mother's only heritage to strengthen her to fight for the throne as a royal princess. After she successfully ascended the throne, she had earned respect and obedience from her subjects, not only just as a queen, but also as a woman," Julia explained.

"The medallion used to be a warning," Diana concluded.

"Precisely, Diana. It is said that she used sorcery upon that. Men would not dare to approach her, but still had a glorious era. Because of this belief, they made this box to contain its magic. We still don't know what kind of magic it possesses," she added.

"Alright, Julia. I will figure it out," said Diana as she closed the box.

After that, her attention went to the TV on the wall, reporting about Batman's actions that week. Saving people and innocent children. Diana smiled as well as she was astonished. Julia realized the way she was looking at that brave caped crusader was different. She never saw her this... delighted, even after the loss of her beloved Captain Trevor.

"You know, Diana, you can't lie about your feelings," said Julia while holding her hands on the table. Diana was startled of hearing that.

"How... how could you tell?"

"I had a daughter, remember? She was just like you when she saw her.... she used to say... love of her life," Julia answered in teary eyes because she reminded her of her late daughter, Vanessa who died in a car accident.

"No, Julia. I can't. Steve—"

"Steve always wanted you to be happy, Princess. You are the keeper of the lasso of truth. You know nothing is worth hidden from the truth, Diana. Let it go," Julia said wisely. The princess couldn't say a word.

Meanwhile, Bruce's apartment.

Bruce was analyzing the most recent footages of Harley Quinn on his computer. No Joker, but strangely she was seen in several places of New Jersey for the last four days. Sayreville, Upper Freehold, Trenton, and Aberdeen. All without leaving any mess. Clean.

His suspicion grew as he saw a strange bruise on her neck. Then, he decided to inform Alfred and let him to take a dig.

Knock! Knock! Knock!

Bruce directly opened the door and saw a woman with casual attire standing before him. Selina Kyle.

"Selina."

"It's been a while, Wayne."

"Yes. Come in," he let her in. Then, he realized that she was holding a book. As he recalled, she never spent time to read. "You don't read books," Bruce raised his brow.

"Julia Kapatelis. You didn't know I'm a big fan? Anyways, thank you for taking care of my stuff. I've got so much to do after our split," Selina replied. Without replying her, he led her to his room to get her stuff. Walking inside, she saw his desk was covered by files of the Cupid of Crime.

"Busy on Harley Quinn? Yes, I haven't heard her clowning around either. Joker has taught her better, I suppose," Selina interrupted. "However, last week I saw her in a bar. You know, Harley is Harley. Drunk and wasted. She kind of accidentally mentioned about... Wonder Woman..."

BRAKK!!

"WHAT?!"

He slammed his fist on his desk and frowned his face. He quickly learned that she was a part of her plan! But... why? He thought to himself. Selina really didn't see that coming. She never saw him this... shocked and... worried. Then, she calmed him down.

"It's... her. Isn't it, Bruce?" Selina asked while trying to hold his hands.

Seeing that, Bruce quickly refused her doing. "Please. We're over this, Selina," he said, stepping back from her.
