Au Revoir, Wayne

One afternoon, after Diana's full recovery.

Diana went to Gotham International Airport, accompanied by Bruce and Alfred. As much as she wanted to stay for a little longer, Diana needed to return to Paris immediately to take a further research on the Rose Gold. When they arrived at the landing field, they saw a well-prepared black jet, none other than Bruce's own private jet.

"I told you I could have booked my own flight home, Bruce."

"Not a chance, Princess. I insist."

"Oh, hello, Christian Grey..." Diana teased him.

"Aim higher," Bruce grinned at her. Hearing that, she gave him a kiss on his cheek and smiled.

"Au revoir, Wayne." ("Until we see each other again, Wayne.")

Bruce watched her as she started walking up the jet stairs while carrying her things. Before the door was closed, they looked at each other for the last time, not really wanting to be apart. Then, the jet started its engine and took off, departing from Gotham.

"Finally. There's likely to be a next generation of Wayne," Alfred said, glad of seeing him happy with her. "Likely?" He responded with a smirk, instead of a shock.

From the jet, Diana looked out of the window. Bruce, Alfred, and everything around them were getting smaller until they were drowned out by the orange clouds. All she could see outside was the sky.

Deep inside, it reminded her a lot about her home, Themyscira. Diana used to lay on the ground with her mother and share dozens of stories together. She wished to feel that moment once more.

"Separated by the seas, but I know we are bound by hearts.

Dear Queen Hippolyta, my beloved mother... this is my voice...

Of all the stories we shared about the outside world, they are everything you said... but so much more. Indeed, it is dark and fragile. Even so, I have learned something of value to my full strength. The eternity of love. For over a century, I was caged by sorrow and mourning for my love of Steve Trevor. I thought the power of love within me perished with him.

I was wrong, Mother... Someone opened my heart once more, making me see the light of affection that is still shining upon this world. He is not a god, but he is more than a mortal. And most importantly, he brings love to me... I wish you were here, Mother... I wish I could share our happiness with you...

Mother... Themyscira may be lost from my sight, but as long as my heart beats, I will return. No matter the cost. I promise. May the force of nature be with you and our sisters."

Meanwhile, Arkham Asylum.

Harley Quinn was being carried to her cell after becoming fully conscious. It never felt like home, she thought. Then, she walked past the cell of Cheetah. She could say Cheetah was enraged as soon as she saw her presence.

"GRRR... YOU PROMISED, CLOWN!!" She scolded.

"Sorry, Beastie! I changed my plans and look! I just got my exorcism! Toodles! HAHAHA," Harley said and left her.

Cheetah felt that she was betrayed. She wanted to cure the curse and she thought that Harley was her only hope.

"RRAAHH!! I SHOULDN'T HAVE TRUSTED THAT FREAK!!"

Unexpectedly, a prison guard came to her cell and... unlocked her bars quietly. Cheetah was surprised and shocked. She took a closer look. It was a man in disguise! Cheetah had no idea who he was. Then, the man looked at her and grinned.

"Who... are you?!" Cheetah sharpened her claws to defend herself from this mysterious man.

"I can help you with your curse... but first, I need your favor... Dr. Minerva..."

To be continued.
