No Trust

Chapter 1

No Trust

Gotham City

Gotham City, the most dangerous city in America. The New York Times described it as a hellhole, ranking it as number one as the United States' most dangerous cities. It was the worst place for a child to live, but best place for a famous gang or a common crook. But it's wasn't only a perfect place for criminals, it was a perfect place for vigilante.

A dark mysterious being lurched over Gotham. He stood on a Gotham electricity store, where he heard on one of the TVs repeating these very words "Can we trust Superman?"

"Ha, Superman," he thought to himself. "The guy is an alien who blended in with humans for thirty years until his kind tried to take over. Then he took action. What if he took action earlier, he could have stopped 9/11 or the Boston Bombing, but instead he just waits, he does this because he was too scared about his identity but wasn't scared for others' lives. What a coward. With that kind of power you use it for the greater good not for his stupid identity. Sure I have an identity but I wear a mask and still fight crime. He's stopped his kind with the help of the U.S. He sounds like a hero. Sure he may have saved Metropolis but at what cost? What if he was never here? Eight thousand lives wouldn't have been lost. An even bigger problem is he is just an alien that, if he wanted to, can destroy the world. No one would be able to stop him. He's just an man with too many powers he can't control."

All of a sudden he heard a scream from a woman. It was time for him to take action. The mysterious creature glided like a hawk looking for food in the air. He spotted a crook trying to take a blonde woman's purse. Then he stretched his legs forward and kicked the crook on the vertebrae. He kicked him lightly so he wouldn't harm him to the point he was paralyzed.

The man stumbled to the floor with cuts on his face. Rocks on the floor must've cut his face as he fell. Blood was dripping from his face as he tried to stop the bleeding with his hands. The being knew his face.

"Aaron Cash! What the hell are you doing? You're a commander for the GCPD, you're a good guy." the being said in his dark, grizzled voice.

"You're right I am a good guy you son of bitch and I'm here to take down a criminal." Aaron Cash said. The muscular African American got a gun out of his coat and pointed it at the being.

Aaron Cash is a commander in the GCPD, he's great one too. He wasn't afraid of any criminal except for a giant alligator named Killer Croc who bit off his left hand.

Suddenly the being turned around; he also recognized the woman's face but couldn't remember for sure on it. Then he remembered as soon as she took off her blonde wig.

"Freeze Batman you're under arrest for terrorism!"

That was Petty Officer Renee Montoya. She was in the military but got transferred to GCPD because she refused to work with another marine. She was recruited but Lieutenant Gordon said she was only a part time officer because the female officer working had gotten injured from a bullet wound to the foot.

"Terrorism?! For what? Doing the the job you can't?!" The Batman shouted.

Sirens were going off. Red and blue lights were flashing everywhere. On apartments, the electric store, the liquor store, everywhere around that block. Police reinforcements had arrived.

Batman covered his skin showing around his mouth with his black cape. All that the cops saw was a black figure and their guns aiming at it. Multiple police car doors opened but Batman payed attention to one in particular. In this particular car, a foot with black polished shoes stepped out of it then the body.

It was him. It was Lieutenant Gordon holding a bullhorn in his hand.

Gordon was a good cop with lots of issues with crooked police departments. Unfortunately, crooked cops were the ones who led police departments in cities like Gotham. Gordon got transferred from Chicago to Gotham because the department over there said "he was too hostile to criminals," because of the lengths he went to finish the job, GCPD realized they needed more cops like him instead of dirty cops dealing with criminals.

He raised the bullhorn up to his mustache and spoke into it, "Batman you are under arrest. You have the right to remain silent, anything you say or do can and will be used against you in the court of law, you have the right to an attorney if you can't afford one, and then one will be appointed to you."

"Trust me I have enough money for a lawyer. I won't need one though." Batman replied.

Batman ran towards the police. Everyone froze.

"Shoot at him all of you! Shoot!" Gordon commanded as he started to shoot Batman still running towards everyone getting their guns out.

Gordon's voice sounded like the Batman's father's. It was humble but deep. It could scared the right people but Batman wasn't a person to be afraid of Gordon's voice.

Batman dodged the bullets of all the police while seeing the trajectory of them through the technology of his mask. He ran up a car and jumped. He ran towards a phone booth while armored policemen got in his way. Batman swung at their jaws and stomach area. He broke two jaws and punched two men in the digestive area. He never would kill because it wasn't the right thing to do, but he would deal broken bones every once and a while so he could get away. Priority one to him when he got compromised was to save anyone in the line of fire and get away.

He was steps away from the phone booth. Gordon was in his way though.

"Get out of my way Gordon!" Batman commanded.

"No you're under arrest." Gordon said as he pointed his Sig at Batman. Batman didn't use guns but he could identify them.

"I'm under arrest?!" Batman bursted into fury. "I'm under arrest for doing the job you can't? Think Gordon! If you stopped trying to interfere me then we would've taken more crime off the streets! But no, today we didn't, we couldn't because you keep trying to arrest me! Now think about how many lives were lost. They could have been saved! But you spend the whole night trying to stop me." Batman got out a smoke bomb, before he threw it he said these words, "Think about who's really doing the right thing before you try and hunt me down.

The area fogged up with smoke after Batman threw a pellet on the ground.. Batman used the secret passage way to the Batcave that was inside the booth. He was done for the night. He was compromised by the cops while he was trying to do his job. He had no trust for GCPD. Neither did GCPD have trust for him. There was No Trust.
