History

We make our way down to the park not far from my apartment and we relax and get to know each other more. He told me about his family and his butler Alfred, and how he was like his father that never was. I got to know him more personally and he did the same for me. But I kept all those secrets hidden. I can't let them lose.

We sat down at a bench later the day while the sun was setting. "Today was amazing." I say leaning on him. "I agree." He says putting his arm around me. I feel my heart race again for the billionth time today. I'm falling for Bruce Wayne. "Chrissy." He says as I look up at him. "Yeah?" He sighs and looks into my blue eyes, as I look into his mixed eyes. "I really like you. I've never fallen this hard before." I smile at him. "Me too." He shows his teeth, "and I was wondering, maybe we could do this more often?" He says as I sit up. "You mean like girlfriend, boyfriend?" I ask, Bruce slowly nods his head. "Yes." He says as I smile at him. "Okay." Is all I say. "Okay." He says back. I feel myself get lost in his eyes as he moves his hand to my now cold cheek. He leans into my face as I do the same. And our lips connect.

It was like fireworks. It's like our lips were meant to be together, we move in sync, and the moment is perfect. After awhile we pull away for air. I grin at him and lean my he's on his shoulder again. He pulls me into his chest as I slowly close my eyes.

The sun from outside blinds my eyes as I shift in bed and groan as I rub my eyes. I open my eyes more to see I'm in a huge fancy room, somewhere from the 1800's. The door opens and an older looking man walks in with a silver tray.
"Good morning Miss James." He says in a British accent. I look up at him and sit up in bed.
"Where am I?" I ask as he sets the tray down, on the nightstand.
"Master Wayne's home, he brought you here once you fell asleep." He says smiling at me. I nod my head.
"Your Alfred. Bruce has told me about you." I say.
"All good things I hope." He says making my laugh.
"Where is Bruce?" I ask starting to take the blanket off my body.
"He's gone out for some business, he should be back soon. In the meantime you can relax around the mansion." Alfred says walking towards the door.
"Uhh... Alfred wait!" I say standing up.
"Yes Miss James?" He asks turning back to me.
I smile at him, "First off, call me Chrissy." He nods his head. "And, I was wondering, Bruce told me something about a library, may I see it?" I ask getting shy.
Alfred smiles, "ah a lady of taste. Of course Miss James, please follow me." He says completely forgetting that I asked him not to call me that. I nod and grab my boots and follow Alfred down the hall.

The halls of the mansion are huge! They held pictures of old and new people. Alfred stopped at a door not far down the hall. He opened the door for me and my eyes widen in beauty. High up on shelves, old books covered every part. I step in and smile. "This is amazing." I say looking all around me.
"It is isn't it. Shall I leave you here Miss James?" Alfred asks about to close the door. I nod my head as he leaves.

I walk further into the library and smile as I found a source of information of Gotham's past. I go to a shelf and find old newspapers from years ago. I guess the Wayne's collected newspapers. I find one that talks about Bruce's father, building a train system. Some about his business, and the birth of his son. I look at the picture of a young couple who were holding a baby. I smile and read the bottom of the picture.

Mr. And Mrs. Wayne welcome their new born son, Bruce Wayne.

I smile as I go further into the newspapers, seeing Bruce grow older before my eyes. From his first birthday, to helping his dad at his office, I enjoyed seeing Bruce as a child. Once I got to about age 12 my smile faded.

Mr. And Mrs. Wayne shot dead, Bruce Wayne left with the family business.

I read through the article about three times before I set it down. I look around the library and above the fireplace is Bruce's mom and dad, with a younger Bruce smiling in a picture. I feel a pain in my heart as I go deeper in the papers. Seeing Bruce leave and come back for the trial of his parents death. But after the trail, Bruce was pronounced dead? Then the next paper says that Bruce was alive. I look at the date between the too papers and see that it's a seven year difference. The article explains that Bruce left and came back to re-claim his family business. So far all these newspapers have been about Bruce's dad and mom, nothing else, but under the newspaper with Bruce coming back, Batman was there. I squint in confusion as the pattern changes in the paper. From the Wayne's to Batman. The papers about Batman all ask the same question, who is he. I get to the bottom of the stack of papers and sigh. I start to question things. Why'd Bruce leave for seven years? I walk over towards the fireplace as see this weeks paper next to a red pen. I pick it up and notice a kind of blurry picture of me in action. I decide to read it.

New villain on the rise, Blue Jay. Is she a problem for Batman?

The red ink is circling my face and a question is written on it.

Who is she??

In dark red ink.
