Gotham City

Gotham city. The city ruined by crimes of the 'bad guys'. The citizens of Gotham lived in fear, from the drug lords to the gangsters. There was no light, only darkness, people saw Gotham as the place of fear and crime, nothing more. The police of Gotham could barely keep up with all the crime, especially in the Narrows. The Narrows was the part of the city were you could get killed by just walking down the street. Only thugs and criminals lived down in the Narrows.

I had wanted to go to Gotham. I heard about it not long ago from the rise of this Batman. The mysterious man who dressed up as a bat and did the work that the police were too stupid to do. Every criminal now had their own fear. Before the Batman, criminals were the ones making fear to the citizens. Now it was Batman who was creating fear for the criminals, while the citizens cheered as they found safety with Batman in the city.

Their protector, Batman. The man who dressed up as a bat and only came out at night. This guy formed out of no where and started helping the police prevent fear in the city. Of course eyewitness say that Batman does not seem like your Classic superhero. Happy, faithful and loyal to everyone. Instead he was kind of cold hearted, rough and scary at times. Apparently his voice sounded like rough sandpaper, all gravely and hard. Everyone wanted to know who Batman was. Who was the man under the mask? Was he even human? This man could walk among us everyday, he could even be next to you.

This man was mysterious and a threat to all criminals who wanted to make business in Gotham city. Especially for me. Knowing that Batman was a new threat, everyone wanted in on the fun. Just to mess with him.

I stood tall on the top of a building as the cool air rushed past me, making my ponytail fly behind me. The sun was now just going down which meant that Batman may make his run around town soon. Looking around the Narrows and seeing all kinds of people waking home from their jobs, or kids going inside from playing with friends on the streets. Police cars drove around the narrows like a shark stalking it's pray. I looked over the horizon as the sun had disappeared only 5 minutes ago, now leaving little lines of orange and yellow leaving night to fall over the city. I was now ready to make trouble on my first night in Gotham. I turned my attention back to the Narrows, smiling, I ran off the edge of the building as my body flew free, falling to the ground. A quick click of a button on my wrist and I was gliding down like a bird. I now landed on top of an apartment complex, making my knee high boots clink as I landed on the roof. I clicked the tiny button my wrist and the wings went away, I then slowly walked to the edge of the building. I than started to climb down the side of the building as my gloves were meant for this type of thing. Once I was only 6 feet from the ground, I dropped down in an alley way.

Standing up straight I saw the two men I was after. I smirked in the shadows as I watched a tall thin man in a trench coat and big hat, kind of like a mobster from the 1940's walk away from me, not seeing me. His friend, a short stocky man had heard my boots click on the pavement when I had landed, turned my way and squinted into the darkness. Probably looking for me. These men worked for the police, walking a round during the night keeping an eye out for people like me. Swiftly in one motion I had knocked out the short man, turning back into the shadows, the tall thin man turned around once he heard the thud of this friend falling to the pavement. He ran over to try and help his friend but before he could do anything I was behind him, ready with a shock ball, a quick shock should teach them that I'm in town, and to watch out.

Suddenly before I could throw my shock ball, a giant figure stood in front of me, falling from the sky. Knocking me back in surprise, I still threw my shock ball but it hit the black figure. It hit him in the chest, but all he did was look down at it as it buzzed with energy and ripped it off of his chest like it was a tiny bug. I was surprised by this man, I quickly turned the other way and dashed down into the street, hoping to loose this guy. As I made my run for it he feel from above and stopped me in my tracks in a new alley. I growled behind my mask that hide everything leaving my eyes only visible.

"Leave me alone." I said trying to threaten him.

"No, your making trouble in the Narrows." He said his voice sounding like sandpaper.

He stepped a little closer, but as he walked under the street light I saw who I thought it was. Batman. I nodded my head and pulled out my sword,

"alright, I tried to warn you." I say running towards him as he blocked my sword with his gloves that had sharp spikes on the sides going up his arm, just below his elbow.

I then pushed back and kicked him in the stomach, making him loose the air in his lungs and stumble back. Seeing my opening I grabbed a shock ball from my hip and threw it at his neck. He cried and grunted in pain as it shocked him, quickly I made my way up the building I was next too and made my great escape from the one and only Batman. I quickly ran off, not looking back in fear that he would follow me. I ran and ran as the sun was just coming up over the buildings of Gotham City.
