Batman

I looked across the street before running over into an alley and jump onto a building. I had to protect some guys who got into a heat with Batman. I then stood on top of the building looking out for the tall black figure going after a group of men. See, my job is to protect the villains of Gotham, while Batman protects the people away from the bad guys. So Batman is a threat to me trying to save the bad guys. I stood trying to find the black figure, then hearing footsteps behind me I turned around and whipped out my sword pointing it at the person behind me. I smirk as I realized it was the person I was looking for.

"Who are you?" He asks out of no where.

"Blue Jay, you must be Batman, I'm not pleased to meet you, again." I say keeping my body tall and straight with my sword close to his face.

"Why are you in Gotham?" He asked with his voice rough as ever.

"What is this? 20 questions?!" I ask growing mad.

"Why are you here?!" His voice grows louder.

"Doing my job, protecting the villains of Gotham from you! We all have to make a living in this sick world." I say lowering my sword. Batman starts to circle me.

"So someone hired you to come to Gotham to protect their henchmen?" Batman is full of questions.

"Yes and no, I'm getting paid for this, but I chose to do it because I love it." I say tilting my head a little.

Batman stands right in front of me and looks down at me. I feel small compared to him, his dark cape covered the front of his body as he stood still. His chest armour shone from the pale moon light above us, just showing the bat symbol on it.

"Now if you'll excuse me. I have people to protect. If you stay out of my hair, then I'll stay out of yours." I say running off the building gliding away from him.

Looking back and seeing him follow me made me angry. I dropped from the sky onto the ground and made a run for it, as Batman followed. I turned a corner and hide near a garbage bin as I heard his slow footsteps come closer. He passed by looking for me, now was my chance. With his back to me I put my sword on his neck and laughed.

"Never turn your back on your enemies." I say but my luck ran short.

Batman grabbed my sword and flung me over his shoulder, making me land right on my back. I gasped for air when he did so as sharp pain ran through my back. He then put his boots on my hands, not hard enough to crush them but it will hurt later.

"Stop what your doing. You'll get yourself killed." He say leaning down in my face.

"By who, you?" I ask as he pulls his boots off my hands.

He looks down at me and grabbed my by my suits collar, slamming me into the wall. My head slammed into the wall and I felt dizzy for moment.

"I don't kill." He says in a whisper.

"Why are you doing this? Your not taking me to the police, why?" I ask gritting my teeth.

"Because you will probably get killed for doing your job." He says.

"I'll get killed either way." I say snapping back.

I lift my legs up and kick him in the stomach and grab my sword as I throw a shock ball at his neck, but this time, a more powerful shock ball. He falls to the ground with a thud as his eyes start to close.

"I found your new weakness. Your neck vs my shock balls." I say laughing and running away as Batman is falling into unconsciousness.

I start to move my hands as they start to hurt again. It was around 3:30 am when I had gotten to my apartment last night, and I was dead tired. Now, sitting in my little desk at work with my hands sore from Batman lightly stepping on them, I start to open my hand to work the pain out.

"You've done that 10 times in the past hour Chrissy, are you alright?" My coworker, Alice said while clicking her pen.

"Yeah I was up writing all night and it's just wore today." I say lying, thinking back my encounter with Batman last night.

"How was that date with Tyler last night? Didn't he take you to one of Bruce Wayne's party's?" She asks leaning closer to me.

"Yes I went with him. But he ran off with some other girl." I say looking up at her.

"Oh I'm sorry." Alice says putting her head down.

"It doesn't matter, I didn't really like him anyways." I say shrugging my shoulders.

"He seemed cute and nice." Alice said smiling while trying to make me feel better.

"Key word... Seemed." I say smirking. Alice nods and there's a short silence.

The only sound of the people in the office typing in their computers, with the smell of paper and ink floating in the air.

"So how was the party? Did you meet Bruce Wayne?" Alice says breaking the silence. I sigh and laugh.

"The party was fine, full of rich people of every class." I say smiling.

"What about Bruce Wayne?" Alice asks smirking. I glance at her and sigh.

"Yes I meet him. He was very sweet, and nice to me." I say moving papers around on my desk.

"Oh it sounds so magical." Alice gushed. I roll my eyes at her and smile.

Later that day I was down at the coffee shop again. Going through some papers again with undercover cops. Back in the same spot I meet Tyler. I looked out the window as the sun started to shine through the clouds covering up the blue sky. The coffee shop was buzzing with activity, with old couples relaxing, or business men who were up all night and need a pick me up. I watched the sky turn from grey to blue as the wind blew away the darkness, even though I wish it didn't.

"Beautiful... Isn't it?" A voice say in from of me. I look forward and see a tall man in sunglasses, and dark greased hair. He smiles and I see his bright teeth, he sits down in front of me.

"Bruce Wayne, pleased to meet you, again." I say smiling at him. He takes off his sunglasses.

"I didn't get your name last night." He says glancing around the room.

"Chrissy James." I say fixing my papers to cover up the files of undercover cops with my 'normal work'. Bruce locks eyes with me and smiles.

"Can I buy you a coffee?" He asks no losing eye contact.

"I already have one." I say holding up my empty cup.

Bruce smirks, stands up and takes my cup and gets me another one. I see the lady at the desk do a double take when she sees Bruce ask for more coffee. He doesn't seem like the playboy that the papers say that he is. Well, not from what I've seen. He seems nice enough. I look at what he's wearing, he doesn't seem like he's a rich boy. He's wearing an old brown leather jacket with a pair of jeans with boot looking shoes. A few minutes of me watching Bruce wait for my coffee and 'enjoying' the view, Bruce walks over with two coffees and sits back down in front of me.

"You know, I could have bought my own coffee." I say looking at the full cup of coffee. Bruce shows his teeth and laughs.

"Don't worry about it. I could buy this coffee shop if I wanted too." Bruce says and I blush looking down.
