Gotham City

It is nighttime in Gotham City. In an apartment room, a young man wearing military shirt and pants is sitting down on a chair. As he sits down, he's listening to music. His favorite band is playing. The Backstreet Boys. The song that's playing is Back to your heart. Only the instrumental of the song is playing. As it plays, he sings the lyrics from the song. The scene zooms in on his face. He has short blond hair, and green eyes. He also has a handsome face. His name is Issac Bishop, and he's a United States Marine, and a State Trooper. As he sings, he looks at a picture of himself and a young girl with long red hair. They're both smiling in the picture. Her name is Barbara Gordon, daughter of Commissioner Jim Gordon. And she's also Batgirl, but not anymore. Just recently, he found her secret identity of her being Batgirl. But he promises to keep it a secret. Now, she retired from being Batgirl, going back to a normal girl now. Also, this night is going to be special for them both. He takes a small box, and looks inside. It's a engagement ring, meaning he's going to ask Barbara to marry him. He smiles at this. He then plays another Backstreet Boys song. Don't wanna lose you now, Barbara's most favorite. As he waits for her, he decides to sing along with the music.

Issac: (Singing) I never thought that I would lose my mind. That I could control this. Never thought that I'd be left behind. That I was stronger than you, baby. Girl, if only I knew what I've done. You know, so why don't you tell me? And I, I would bring down the moon and the sun. To show how much I care. Don't wanna lose you now. Baby, I know we can win this. Don't wanna lose you now. No, no, or ever again.

As he sings, he fails to see someone coming in from the door. It's Barbara. She sees him singing her favorite song. She smiles at this sight. She just stands there as she closes the door softly. 

Issac: (Singing) I've got this feeling you're not gonna stay. It's burning within me. The fear of losing of slipping away. Just keeps getting closer, baby, Whatever reason to live that I've had.My place was always beside you. And I wish that I didn't need you so bad. Your face just won't go away. Don't wanna lose you now. Baby, I know we can win this. Don't wanna lose you now. No, no, or ever again. Don't wanna lose you now. 

She smiles as tears come of her eyes as she listens to her boyfriend singing. He has a great singing voice. She sits down on a chair by the door.

Issac: (Singing) I never thought that I would lose my mind. That I could control this, yeah. Never thought that I'd be left behind. That I was stronger than you! Ooh! Don't wanna lose to loneliness. Girl, i know we can win. Don't wanna lose to emptiness, oh no. Never again. Don't wanna lose you now. No way, baby. Girl, I know we can win this. Don't wanna lose you now. No, no, or ever again. Don't wanna lose you! I know we can win this! Don't wanna lose you now. No, no, or ever again. Don't wanna lose you now. 

(Song ends)

He takes a deep breath as he finishes the song. He then hears clapping. He turns around, and sees Barbara clapping on the chair with a smile. He jumps a little, then relaxes, and smiles back at her. He walks to her as she gets up from the chair. They both kiss each other on the lips. 

Barbara: Your singing always makes me feel better when I have a bad day. 

Issac: (Chuckles) I know. Are we gonna be alone for a while, or are you expecting more company?

Barbara: Colleen. She just wants to work out with me. She'll be here in two hours. 

Issac smiles at her. They both sit down on the couch while holding hands. He takes a deep breath as he stands up. She looks at him.

Barbara: Issac, what is it?

Issac: Barbara, we've been through a lot together. I loved all the things we did together, especially when you saved my life many times when you were Batgirl. 

Barbara: (Giggles) And you saved my life a few times. 

Issac: (Smiles) Anyway, what I'm trying to say is this. You're the only woman I want in my life. I love you so much, Barbara Gordon.

Issac then takes out the box from his pocket. Barbara gasps, knowing what he's going to ask her. He kneels down to her, and opens up the box, showing her the ring. She covers her mouth as she cries.

Issac: Barbara Gordon, will you marry me?

Barbara: (Smiles while crying) Yes! Yes, I'll marry you! 

She jumps at him, and tackles him down to the floor as they both laugh together. They look at each other, and kiss each other again. They hug as they kiss. They both sit up as they continue kissing. They end the kiss to breath. They lean in, and rest their foreheads against each other. He takes her hand, and puts the ring on her wedding finger. He holds her hand. They both smile at each other. They both get back up, and sit back down on the couch. As they sit down, Barbara notices some papers on the table. She takes some of them, and looks at them. She sees the papers are about Joker, and some traitor soldiers and cops. 

Barbara: Issac, what's all this about?

Issac: (Sighs) Me, and my buddy, Williams found that some of our own Marines are not Marines at all. They're just security guards, working for Joker, and a war-criminal name Poe Slater. 

Barbara: (Gasps) Poe Slater. I remember him from the wanted posters. My father said the government and the F.B.I have been trying to arrest him for over three years. His file said he's wanted for the murder of 34 police officers, and 48 United States Marines. And also for the death of 67 innocent people in New Mexico. That makes 149 people he killed.

Issac: Yeah. I heard Joker made a deal with him. So, me and Williams are gonna be on the hunt to put an end to Slater's terror once and for all. We're gonna put him behind bars forever. Just need to wait for permission from our team officer at the base. 

Barbara: Well, maybe you should let Batman, Robin, and Nightwing handle this. They know how to handle this. 

Issac: Babe, I know they're your friends and all, but come on. You should let me handle myself. You know me. 

Barbara: I know, but I get worried though. 

Issac: Well, let's not worried about it now. Let's just enjoy our night. And soon, we're gonna be married. I just hope your dad will be okay with it. 

Barbara: He likes you, so I know he'll be okay with it. 

They both continue sitting down on the couch as Barbara lays her head on his left shoulder. Just then, someone knocks on the door. They both look at the door. 

Barbara: Colleen? Is that you? 

She gets up from the couch, and walks to the door. Issac watches, but something tells him he has a bad feeling. And the feeling is right. She opens the door, and there, at the door, is Joker. He's holding a package. He looks at Barbara with a grin. 

Joker: Candy-gram! 

Barbara looks in fear as she backs away. She runs towards Issac as Joker drops the package and pulls a pistol and aims at Barbara.

Issac: NO!!!

He fires, and shoots Barbara in the stomach. She screams as she falls down on the floor, knocking down one of the chairs and smashing the glass table. 

Issac: Barbara!!!

He kneels down to her as she clutches her stomach in pain as blood oozes on the floor. He holds her hand to comfort her. Joker walks towards them. 

Joker: (To Barbara) Oh, don't pass out just yet! Come on, show a little spine! 

Issac then looks at him with rage in his eyes. 

Issac: You mothercrudder! 

He pulls out his gun from behind his back, and aims it at him. Just then, five men come into the room, and aim their weapons at him. Issac keeps his gun at Joker. 

Issac: Don't you move, clown. Dead or alive, you're all coming with me. 

One of the men tries to shoot Issac, but Issac shoots him in the chest twice, killing him. Just then, a baseball bat comes out of nowhere and hits Issac in the head. He groans out in pain, and falls down on the floor while drops his gun. It slides across the room, going under the table where the TV is at. He shakes his head, and looks to see who hit him. It's a blond haired woman, Joker's girl. 

Issac: Harley Quinn. 

Harley: (Giggles) Can't have you hurt Mr. J., soldier boy. 

Joker: Nice work, Harley. Let me handle this. 

Joker kneels down to Issac, who looks at him with hate in his eyes. 

Joker: Oh, don't look at me like that. She's still alive. And I hear you've been looking for me. (Stands back up) Well, I guess I need to teach you a lesson. 

Joker takes a shotgun from Harley, and aims it at Issac as he pins his right arm down. He makes a beeping noise as he points the shotgun at Issac's head and hand. Harley and the men start laughing at this. After a moment of beeping, Joker makes one aim at Issac's hand, and fires. Issac's right hand explodes into pieces. Issac grunts in pain and agony as he looks at where his hand used to be. Joker gets his foot off his arm. 

Joker: Well, give the man a hand. 

Harley and the men start laughing hard. Issac clutches the wound as he gets back up slowly. He's grunting in pain. 

Joker: He's all yours. 

Issac walks over to Barbara as Harley and Joker's men aim their weapons at him. 

Harley: Hey, turn around. 

Thug: Hey, pretty boy. Hey, over here. 

Issac turns around slowly as he shields Barbara from the guns. Harley fires her shotgun, shooting off Issac's right arm. He gasps in pain. Then, the men start firing at him. Issac starts screaming and groaning in agony as the bullets hit him in the chest, stomach, and legs. Joker watches with a grin. Barbara slowly looks in horror and shock as she watches her boyfriend being shot to death. 

Barbara: Issac...!

The men and Harley continue shooting at him for ten seconds until they run out of ammo. Issac falls down on his knees. 

Thug: Ah, shoot! I'm out of ammo.

Thug 2: Me too. 

Issac screams in pain as blood oozes out of his chest. 

Thug 3: Hey, boss. He's still alive. 

Harley: (To Issac) Aw, what's wrong? Does it hurt? Does it hurt??

They all laugh at her joke. Issac groans in agony as he struggles to stay on his knees with his only arm. 

Thug 4: Man, I can't believe he's still alive after taking many bullets like that. 

Issac: (Panting, groaning in pain) Oh, gosh, I'm dying...(Glares at Joker and Harley) You hear this, mothercrudders! I'm gonna get you for this! I'm gonna get you two, and I'm gonna get all the villains, no matter what! (Coughs off blood) 

Joker: (Laughing) You're dying, soldier boy. How can you possibly get me, when you're dead? 

Joker aims his pistol at Issac, and all Issac could see is Joker aiming his gun at his face. Joker fires, and shoots him in the throat. Issac chokes out, and falls down on the floor next to Barbara, eyes open with a bullet hole on his neck. 

Joker: (Laughs) Well, fun's over. 

Joker then takes out a camera, and takes some pictures of the bodies. 

Joker: Ok, let's get out of here. 

Harley: (Looks at Issac, and blows a kiss) Good night, sweet prince. (Laughs)

They all laugh as Joker closes the door. Barbara looks at Issac, who looks at her lifeless. She starts crying from the pain and from seeing her boyfriend dead. 

Barbara: Issac....

She reaches for his hand, and holds it. Tears come out of her eyes as she begins to pass out from the pain. Her last thought before losing consciousness was praying that Issac will still be alive. And everything goes black for her.
