Dick Grayson/Nightwing (1)

((A/N)): INTRODUCING MYYY  *OTHER* MOtherfucking husband, oh my gosh, Dick Grayson, you are hot as FUCK

Am I the only one who gets hurt when artists draw him ugly in the comics, like... this is the prettiest boy EVER... stop doing him dirty :(

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"You got a little something riiight... here".

You lean forward across the table, smiling like crazy, letting your boyfriend steal a quick kiss.

Dick Grayson grins at you, winking, and your heart flutters. Actually flutters. You've been dating him for a little over a year, and he still has that effect on you. No one is immune to Dick Grayson's charm, you suppose, though you know it's meant for you, and you alone.

You laugh and pull away, popping a fry into your mouth.

"Was there anything actually there, or did you just want to kiss me?" you teased.

Dick laughs, one of the best sounds you've ever had the pleasure of hearing in your life, and reaches across the table for your hand.

"Well, you did have a little whipped cream there... you tasted sweet, by the way", he joked. "Do I have to have an excuse to kiss my beautiful girlfriend?"

You rolled your eyes but smiled still. You couldn't help it; you couldn't not smile when Dick was around.

"You flatter me, Dick Grayson. I sense an ulterior motive".

At that, Dick sighs, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Uh, yeah. Listen, I know we haven't been spending that much time together lately. I'm sorry, babe".

It was true. Bludhaven needed its best detective police officer, though as of late, it left you little to no time with your boyfriend.

You missed him. You had been ridiculously ecstatic when he had texted to say he had the night off.

Although you didn't really want to talk about why he had been so busy, you knew he was only trying to ease things for you.

You squeezed his hand.

"It's okay, Dick. The city needs you".

If only you knew... Dick thought.

Of course, you had no idea that he was Nightwing. He felt guilty for not telling you, but the time wasn't right, and he'd be damned if he let you get hurt because of his secret identity.

Trying to lighten the mood again, he smirked.

"I know you need me too, you know", he said, wiggling his eyebrows.

You laughed.

"You're right, I do. But not in public, Richard!"

He laughed with you, feeling like a kid again by just being with you. Your eyes flashed at him as you looked up innocently, taking a sip of the chocolate milkshake you were sharing. He was sure a goofy smile was stuck on his face, the definition of heart-eyes.

He wanted to say something, anything, but God, you were so... enchanting. Never had Dick Grayson, infamous ladies' man, been speechless around a woman before.

He opened his mouth to say something finally, when his phone buzzed in his pocket. His heart dropped when your face fell, and cracked a little when you fixed an obviously-fake smile on.

"Go on, answer it", you encouraged, though he could tell you really didn't want him to.

He flashed you an apologetic smile before checking the screen under the table.

The system he had set up, with Tim's help, to alert him of any nearby crime was lighting up. Penguin, and some men he recognized from Black Mask, all the way in Gotham, were making a trade by the docks.

He sighed, tucking his phone back into his pocket and coming up with something to tell you on the fly.

"I'm sorry, Y/N... there's something going on down at the docks, the chief wants me to investigate".

His apology was genuine, another thing of many that you loved about him. He was always honest with you.

Although you felt disappointed, you still motioned for him to go.

"It's alright, babe. Go be a hero", you smiled at him, not knowing the double meaning of your words.

He smiled back, pulling his black and blue leather jacket on and sliding a wad of cash across the table to you.

Standing up, he towered over you and leaned down, kissing your forehead sweetly.

"See you later, darling. I promise. I love you".

And with that, he was gone.

So much for date night, you thought with a sigh, resting your chin in the palm of your hand.

"I love you, too".

~

You stayed at the diner for a little longer after Dick had left, accepting a coffee after getting hit with the sudden raincheck.

Finally though, you had paid and gathered your things, heading home.

You sat on your apartment's little balcony with your coffee, sipping at it slowly while watching the city lights twinkle. Bludhaven really was beautiful, if you ignored the constant crime, Gotham City's slightly cleaner relative.

You gazed in the direction of the docks, wondering what was possibly going on to take your Dickiebird away from you.

Your heart ached. You wanted, even if it was just by a little bit, to be closer to him. You were almost unaware of your legs carrying you closer to the railing until you were pressed against it.

"Whoa!"

Something whooshed behind you. An arm around your waist yanked you back gently but firmly away from the edge.

"Too close there, miss".

Nightwing's arm fell away from you as he offered you a charming smile. You blinked a few times before realization hit you like a cold wave.

"Oh. You thought I was going to jump".

The young hero's expression changed to one of concern.

"Were you?"

"No!" you quickly defended.

Nightwing held his hands up.

"Hey, I'm just trying to help. You were a little too close to the edge. Are you okay?"

Were you okay?

Your shoulders slumped. You tried to smile convincingly at him, but knew you were falling too short.

"Yeah, I'm okay. Thanks for checking, though. Nightwing".

There was that smile again. It almost reminded you of Dick. You shook your head, amused at the thought.

Nightwing leaned an arm on the railing, resting his weight against it.

"So, what's a pretty little thing like you doing out here alone?"

Was he...? Oh my God. Nightwing is flirting with me.

You felt your face heat up as you laughed nervously.

"Um, I live here?"

He laughed, taking a few steps closer to you.

"I figured. You don't have any family? Friends? A boyfriend?"

And just like that, your mood turned dismal again. He seemed to notice, frowning.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean-"

"No, it's okay", you waved him off. "I do have a boyfriend, actually. He's a police officer. I haven't seen him much lately, and I just... I just miss him. A lot".

Silence fell over the both of you.

Oh, God. This is embarrassing. Are you really about to cry in front of him?

You sighed, turning to go back into your apartment.

"Anyway. Sorry for bothering you, you probably didn't want to hear that. I know you've got better things to do..."

"Actually..."

You spun around in the doorway, one brow raised. Nightwing stepped up to you, forcing you to look up at him.

Damn his height! I HATE it when Dick does that, too...

Again with the similarities. Still, you shook it off, waiting for Nightwing to keep going.

You felt your face burn even hotter when he took your hand, raising it to his lips and like a true gentleman, pressing a soft kiss by your knuckles.

"I'm here to protect the people of Bludhaven. Even if it's just from loneliness. You look like you could use some company... if you'll have me".

You stared up at the vigilante's face in wonder.

Wow, he even looks like Dick... no. Dick is too busy for heroism.

You were certain that you just missed your boyfriend so much, your mind was projecting him onto Nightwing, who was still waiting for an answer, smiling expectantly.

He already reminded you a little of Dick. And you wouldn't be object to company...

You opened the door a little wider for him, inclining your head for him to come in.

"Yeah. That would be nice".
