Chapter19: We Should Hurry

Superman:"Now that we know Joker has her, how are we going to find her?"

Batman:"We ask his girlfriend."

She knew it was unlikely he was going to save her again. After all he didn't even know her. She wondered if anyone had noticed she wasn't at work, if anyone cared. The image of Bruce kept popping into her head but she chose to ignore it. Sure she could wait around and hope that they were found or returned home safely but that too was unlikely. It was time for her to take control of the situation for once. Staying here and letting Joker win wasn't an option so she made a plan.

They arrived at Harley's cell she didn't speak instead she sat there glaring at them. Superman wasn't used to all of this so he took caution when approaching the glass window.

Superman:"Listen Harley we just-

Harley:"Awww what's this? Batsy brought his little boyfriend alone?

Superman:"What? No, we need-

Batman:"I'll take care of it."

He made eye contact with one of the guards standing nearby. The guard walked over and quietly opened the door to her cell. After they were both inside he closed it and went to resume his position. Superman moved closer to Batman and whispered to him.

Superman:"Is it really okay to be in here?"

Batman:"It's fine, just let me do the talking."

He stepped back to give Batman the room he needed. He couldn't help but notice the condition of the cell, the walls were peeling and the floors were stained with god knows what. She was bound by a straightjacket which was chained to a crusty wall. He started to feel bad for her but then he remembered just how dangerous her and her boyfriend were.

Batman:"Were does Joker take the people he kidnaps?"

She was silent.

Batman:"I don't have time for games. Now tell me."

Harley:"Why the hell would I tell you?! Besides me and him are done."

Batman:"Done?"

Harley :"That's right, that night he left me on the street unconscious was the last straw."

He remembered that night, Lucy was there. He remembered how mad she was at him, how he had never seen her like that. Then his chest began to ache.

Batman:"You and I both know you aren't done with him, besides he's done worst to you in the past. Now tell me were I can find him."

Harley:"What's in it for me?"

Batman:"What?"

Harley:"You gotta give to get, Batsy."

Batman:"Tell me and I'll make sure he has a cell right across from yours, that way you can annoy him to your heart's content."

Harley:"Alright, come here."

He leaned in close and she whispered in his ear.

Harley:"A warehouse on the dock, you should find him there."

He went back to the door and the guard opened it.

Superman:"So?"

Batman:"We should hurry, there's not a lot of time left."

Sorry if this seems rushed. I've been thinking about how I want the story to end. I'm finishing up the last chapter. Once that's done I'll do the rest of the chapters then publish them all at once.
