She slowly backed away from the atm. He told her to put her card back into the machine and to withdraw all the money from her account. Lucy wasn't anywhere close to being rich but she also wasn't poor. Working for Bruce Wayne did pay well. But more than half of her paycheck when to several different charities. 'Maybe I can try to reason with him, like Batman tried to do with Joker.' 'But I'm not Batman, and Joker did throw me off a bridge.' She pondered this for a while then sighed and put her card back in. She slowly pushed the buttons while his gun pushed harder into her back. The man probably wanted the money for alcohol. He smelled like the cheap kind her youngest brother always used to drink after his third divorce. 'Where is Batman when I need him?' Lucy started to recall the night she saved him. Harley Quinn was way more dangerous then this street person. So what was stopping her from standing up for herself against this man? She took a deep breath and gathered up her courage.

Lucy:"NO!"

Her fingers stopped pressing the buttons.

Man:"What?!"

Lucy:"I'm done letting people walk all over me."

Man:"Look lady if you don't want to die you'll think again."

She heard a click Lucy knew it could only be one thing...a gun. Fear and doubt pierced her heart but she knew there was no turning back. 'Be brave. Remember that night.' She had to reassure herself that everything was going to be alright. Then in a swift motion she kicked him as hard as she could between his legs. He fell to his knees and Lucy took the chance to run. Unfortunately she wasn't very fast and it didn't take him long to get up. He was chasing her now and wasn't very far behind. After a block or two she made a left down a stretch of road. She stopped dead in her tracks. Fear crepted back into her heart and stayed there. She couldn't believe what was standing in front of her. She took a step back but it was too late.
