The End of a Bat

Abandoned Ferris Aircraft Base

It was the year 2023, things weren't the same as they used to be, the Justice League was dissembled and crime rates were higher than ever. "Big news in the financial today. Once again billionaire Bruce Wayne has averted an attempted takeover of his company by Derek Powers of Powers Technology." A broadcaster said. After, the tv changed to a picture of a young girl in her early teens.

"Hey look kid, your on TV." A thug said to the young girl. A bunch of kidnappers kidnapped a young girl and they camped out at the Abandoned Ferris Aircraft Base.

"Still no word from the kidnappers of debutante Bunny Vreeland following a ransom payment of five million dollars." Another broadcaster said.

The lead thug opened a bag, "It's all here, take care of her." The other thug pointed a gun at Bunny.

"Gmrflled," The Bunny muttered with a cloak around her mouth.

Suddenly, a Batarang flew out of nowhere. The gun flew out of the thug's hand. "What?" The regular thug wondered.

"It's Batman!" The leader said. They saw Batman's red and black suit.

"Let's make him dead!" The regular thug chanted. Bunny looked horrified with her big eyes.

Batman beat up the two thugs tiredly. "Are you all right?" Batman asked the girl. The girl stuttered.

The leader whacked Batman in the head with a crowbar! Batman fell down.

"You know, when I was a kid, I was always afraid of the big bad Bat, you know what, your not so scary anymore old man." The leader was about to whack him again but Batman, wheezing, grabbed the gun that was the floor and pointed it at the leader. "No, don't!" The leader ran away out the door.

Batman untied the girl and walked out the same door the thief did. He took off his mask and looked at the gun, "No," He shouted, "Nooo! Noooooooo!" He threw the gun and ran back to the Batcave.

He hung up the cape and said, "Never again." He walked out the cave and turned off the lights for what he thought would be the last time.
