Interruptions

A knock on her bedroom door made Eliana jump off her bed in excitement. She raced to open the door and hastily pulled the visitor inside. As soon as the door clicked shut, Eliana planted a kiss on Terry. "Woah, down girl!" Terry joked but eagerly kissed back. "What can I say, I love my boyfriend," Eliana smiled.

Boyfriend.. she still couldn't wrap her mind around it. After all this time, they were finally together. Only 3 weeks had passed since their first kiss, but Eliana still felt butterflies every time Terry kissed her. She honestly doubted they'd ever go away.

"Yeah? Well, the feelings mutual," Terry said lowly, dipping them a bit. Eliana gasped in surprise as Terry scooped her up and threw her on the bed. He jumped and landed right next to her. They lay side by side basking in the quiet peace.

"We need to tell Bruce about us," Eliana spoke up. Terry's eyes bulged out, and he looked at her like she was insane, "Now!?" Eliana rolled her eyes, "Well soon yes, and that's if he doesn't already know. Not to mention your mom, we can't keep this a secret forever."

Terry knew she was right, but he'd thought they'd have more time alone. He sighed, "I know, but I like this... just getting to have you all to myself without my mom or Bruce on our backs."

Eliana moved to hover over Terry. "Yeah, I feel the same, but I promise you I'm not gonna let Bruce get between us," she responded, caressing his dark hair. Terry eyed her lips and started to pull her down. They were an inch apart when both their phones went off.

Terry groaned when Eliana rolled off him to check her phone. He already knew who caused the interruption. "Really know when to ruin good moments, huh old man," Terry grumbled.

"Bruce needs us, something about a robbery on 6th Seret street," Eliana said, grimacing. Maybe she shouldn't have made that promise.

"Can't you people find hobbies or something!?" Nightwing yelled as she ducked from laser fire. "Yeah, anything but stealing and making us work hard," Batman added, throwing a batarang at a thief. The duo found themselves behind a store counter. "I think this has been going on far too long, huh Batman?" Nightwing teased. "I agree. Let's finish this," Batman responded.

They vaulted over the counter and ran at the 4 thieves. Nightwing kneed a man in the head before swiping the feet of another. Then she shot out a grappling hook that tied the men together. She heard a whistle of appreciation. "I love seeing you in action," Batman flirted. "Well, that makes two of us," Nightwing responded huskily.

"I assume you both succeeded." The heroes jumped. They forgot about Bruce! Terry cleared his voice, "All good on our end, GCPD should be here soon," he rushed out. Although he was wearing a cowl, Eliana could just picture the red tint his face had. Hers was similar. Well, if Bruce didn't suspect something was going on between them, he sure did now.

"Are you sure we're alone?" Eliana asked mid kiss as they stumbled into Terry's home. "Yep, Mom's taking Matt over to a playdate. They won't be back for some hours," Terry answered, eagerly wanting to continue kissing. "I like that sound of that," Eliana said breathlessly. Terry gripped her thighs and was about to carry her to the couch...

"Woah, what are you two doing?!"

Eliana and Terry looked to see Matt peeking his head over the couch. They quickly separated and tried to look innocent. "Look snips we were just -" Terry began. "Mom! Mom! Terry and Eliana are kissing. Terry has a girlfriend!" Matt exclaimed, bouncing up and down on the couch. Eliana shot Terry a panicked look. This wasn't how they wanted to break the news. Maybe they could escape before...

"He's got a what!?" Mary's voice rang out from the kitchen as she quickly hustled out. "Mom! I thought you and Matt had plans," Terry asked nervously. Mary put her hands on her waist, "They got canceled. Now, what's this? I'm hearing about you having a girlfriend? Is it true, are you both together, romantically?" She interrogated.

The two teens just stood there with their mouths opening and closing like fish. "Umm..yes," Eliana squeaked out. The stern look on Terry's mother disappeared, and a smile replaced it. "Oh, that's wonderful! I knew you'd two be perfect for one another, I just knew it," Mary gushed and pulled the couple into a hug.

"When did this happen?" Mary tilted her head. "A couple of weeks ago," Terry smiled softly and squeezed Eliana's hand. Mary gasped, "Weeks!? And you're just telling your mother now?" The couple had the decency to look sheepish. "Eww, does that mean I have to watch you both make out," Matt said immaturely. At this point, Eliana was sure her face was as red as a tomato.

"Honey, this is a conversation between grown-ups," Mary scolded, "A conversation that's happening right now," she finished. Terry started pulling Eliana to his room, "I think it could wait...."Terry Mcginnis!" Yeah, there was no escaping this.

Terry and Eliana found themselves seated across from Mary at the dinner table. "I believe we need to talk about the actions you two do while you're together. I'm certainly too young to become a grandmother!"

Eliana bowed her head to hide her blush while Terry buried his head in his hands. "Ma, please, we don't need this talk. We're responsible!" Terry exclaimed, trying to get out of the painfully awkward situation. "Terry honey, this is for both your well-being. I'm sure Mr. Wayne will have words with you two as well, assuming you haven't already told him," Mary raised an eyebrow.

"Ms. Mcginnis, Terry, and I will be very careful in our relationship. Trust me when I say we have no intentions of moving too quickly," Eliana spoke up.

There was a slightly tense silence before Mary nodded in satisfaction, "Good. You two kids can go." Didn't have to tell them twice, Terry and Eliana leaped out of their seats. The teens had just entered Terry's room, and as he was about to shut his door, Mary's voice rang, "Doors remain open, thank you." Terry sighed exasperatedly but conceded by leaving it slightly open.

"Hey, I'm sorry about mom -" Eliana silenced him by placing a finger to his lips. "Don't be, I was expecting this to happen... just happened soon rather than later." Sliding her hands up his chest, Eliana drew him closer. "Now..where were we?" She asked playfully. Terry feigned surprise, "Oh, I think I remember." He slowly dipped her and went to seal the move with a kiss, but then something caught Terry's eye.

"Matt!"

Terry was so startled by his little brother's presence that he accidentally dropped Eliana. "Get out twerp!" Terry scolded as he slammed the door closed. He bent down to his girlfriend's level. "You okay?" He asked, helping her sit up. Eliana nodded. She's experienced worse pain.

"Yeah, babe I'm-"

RING! RING!

Oh my God! It seemed like there were going to be endless interruptions today. Groaning, Eliana pulled out her phone to answer it. "Bruce," Eliana mouthed. Terry rolled his eyes, of course, it was. Terry watched how his girlfriend's face went from neutral to panic in mere seconds. "I gotta go," Eliana announced after she finished her phone call.

She hoisted herself up and smoothed out her outfit. "What, why?" Terry asked wildly. "I forgot to run an errand for Bruce. That's why he just called me," Eliana explained. Well, that's just easy. He'd go with her. There wasn't anything preventing him from

"Terry sweetie, I have chores I need you to do. And don't even think about arguing. You've shrugged them off long enough," Mary called out. Nevermind. Eliana gave an apologetic look and kissed his cheek before leaving his room.

Terry huffed. Five minutes uninterrupted, was that so much to ask!?

It apparently was too much to ask, as Terry didn't get to see Eliana until patrol that night. And it wasn't an easy patrol by no means either. It felt like every insane criminal wanted to make their mark that night, which made Batman and Nightwing not return to the Batcave till 3:30 am.

The only thing that could salvage Terry's mood was a nice cuddle with his girlfriend, but Bruce wasn't making that easy. The old man just kept going on and on about how they needed to be "more alert" and "reactive."

"Okay, I'm done for today. I need some sleep," Terry interrupted Bruce's speech. Bruce opened his mouth, no doubt to argue about how important this speech was when Eliana also piped up. "I'm with Terry Bruce. We can continue this another time."

Bruce nodded in acceptance and turned back to work on the batcomputer. Meanwhile, Terry and Eliana went up the batcave stairs and exited the grandfather clock.

"I'll walk you - oof!" Terry cut his girlfriend off by pressing her up against the wall and kissing her. "Finally," Terry muttered breathlessly. However, during their blissful makeout, the duo did not pay attention to their surroundings.

"When did this happen?" A gruff voice asked.

Terry and Eliana stopped kissing and froze. They both hesitantly looked over to see Bruce. Honestly, neither one of them knew what to say. Then again, they didn't fancy sitting under Bruce's intense stare any longer. "Uh, nothing's happening," Terry rubbed his neck nervously.

Eliana looked at her boyfriend like he was an idiot. As if Bruce didn't just watch them practically suck each other's faces off.

She elbowed Terry, "It's been happening for some time. We were planning to tell you eventually...." she trailed off. But then she noticed how Bruce was unsurprised by the revelation, almost as if...

"You knew, didn't you," Eliana accused. Bruce smiled a bit, "I had my suspicions.'' Terry did not find that reveal funny at all, "Wait if you knew, then why didn't you confront us earlier?"I wanted you two to tell me yourselves," Bruce answered. "So you're okay with this..you approve?" Eliana asked timidly.

She valued Bruce and his opinion too much that it would be heartbreaking if her father figure did not approve of the man she loved.

"I do. As long as it doesn't affect your responsibilities. If you're happy, Eliana, then I am." Bruce then looked at Terry menacingly, "But let me make myself clear, if you hurt her Mcginnis, I will not hesitate in making your life a living hell," he threatened. Terry just stood there blinking rapidly, "Noted," he mumbled.

"Have a good night," Bruce said, disappearing from the room. The teens didn't move from their positions. "What just happened?" Terry questioned.

"Bruce approves," Eliana said in disbelief. It wasn't like she was expecting him not to. It was just a bit surreal at the moment.

Terry gave her a charming smirk, "So do I," he stated and brought their lips back together.
